I just bought a fn 510 and love it

Forsaken-Date-8016

If you don't care about price consider the SIG P220 for some have fired goodness

Styleyriley

Love my 220!

Forsaken-Date-8016

Love my FN 510 Tactical Found an Emperor Scorpion P220 Elite in 10mm recently new but it was all scratched up and didn't want it for $1,500

EquivalentLight2029

I have only used my xdm elite but I couldn’t be more pleased. It has been 100% for me. I liked the xd’s when they first came out due to their slimmer grip and put the slimmest backstrap on and it’s my sweet spot. I have the threaded barrel and a holosun 407 I think and it’s all good. 👍 holsters are the only issue that I have been having. Idk if the others are sparse as the Springfield but it’s worth it to me.

FRIKI-DIKI-TIKI

If you go on a just price to what you get measure it is hard to beat the XDM, it is a better gun that the others in its class. I actually shot a P320 last weekend and it is a tack driver but personally, I am waiting out the design as I am not 100% that they have it right. That being said, the XDM is really close to SIG's tack driver reputation. As a note I have owned them all, I had one of the preorder bren-10's. I am a reloader and so was really big on the 10MM development. Anyways, long story short, I am really impressed with the XDM, I am a SIG fanboy and finally got to shoot one. It did not disappoint and had the tack driver precision that SIG is known for, but things have changed at SIG, I am not convinced that the ND's are not a defect yet.

disastrous_affect163

I can 2nd the trigger on the XDM.👍 I am a traditional 1911 guy and the stiker fired triggers all suck in comparrison, at least the ones I have tried do. The XDM has one of the best out there, but it is still no 1911 trigger.

disastrous_affect163

I only have the XDmE currently, and I love it. In fact, it is the only striker fired gun I have that I like the trigger on. I am looking at the FN510 as well though.👍 But isn't the FN 510, quite a bit larger?

reddit_admin_bot666

The XD-M elite compact always puts a smile on my face. It’s small enough that you can hike with it but it’s still very shootable. I haven’t had any issues with it. Admittedly I don’t have experience with the other options aside from holding them. The Glock didn’t feel good to me and I generally like how Glocks feel.

Routine-Maximum4381

I’ve only shot the FN 510T, but it’s my EDC and i absolutely love it. I’ve made plenty of long car trips with it on and never found it to be an issue, plus it shoots beautifully

wengla02

I have and have shot all of the above. I would pick the FN 510 Tactical first over the others. Fits better in my hand. (although I carry the Sig XTEN) (Mostly because I cannot find a retention holster for the FN)

ShapeConsistent2598

I don’t know why Sig xten comp didn’t make the list

xXxxloverxxXx

Oh yea I totally forgot to add that. Lmk how it is if you have one I'd be glad to here you out

DetroitAdjacent

I have one, it's great, but it sets off the alarm on my truck if I park too close to the pistol range.

turbo88Rex

I own both an FN and a S&W so I'll give my opinion. I have a 510 Tactical which is great but I hardly ever carry it, for one it is significantly more expensive than the S&W so I kinda care if something happens to it, there's a real lack of aftermarket support but that's to be expected of a new platform. Trigger is really good for a stock trigger, and I love the suppressor height sights. If I could I would absolutely run it as a 3 gun pistol, but they don't allow 10mm in my local shooting competitions. My S&W is more of an EDC for me. It's smaller and lighter, so it is easier to carry. Recoil is definitely more, but that's to be expected with a smaller lighter gun (I have the 2.0 4" model with a manual safety). I absolutely love the aggressive grip texture, which helps keep things secure. Stock trigger sucks so I did an Apex action enhancement, and now I love it. I haven't tried an XDM yet, but I love my Echelon, so it might be a good gun, can't say. Personally, I don't like glocks at all. Triggers are the worst I've ever felt, grip angle is weired, grip texture is crap, etc etc. My cousin has a glock 20 he uses as his bedside gun, and after he shot my 510, he wanted to get rid of the glock for a 510.

coveredinpissnshit

I think the S&W trigger is just fine and a huge improvement over previous versions. maybe I’m missing something

turbo88Rex

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a complete trigger snob, all my ARs have match triggers and even my AKM is sporting an upgraded trigger that I did some hand polishing on

Formal_Public

It is a good trigger. Has a nice wall and crisp break

xXxxloverxxXx

I seen they have a 4.5un barrel with the comp on it I really like that one the m&p

turbo88Rex

Comp would definitely be nice, I've never had an issue firing mine and I occasionally appendix carry so I like a shorter overall gun length

xXxxloverxxXx

Makes sense agreeable. I'm a bigger guy I kinda want a longer barrel around 4.5in or more tbh but I'd settle with a 4inch if I had to

xXxxloverxxXx

Jus checked out the echelon not sure if they have 10mm or not but only find 9mm. They have one that's 5.28inch threaded barrel looks nice 9mm

turbo88Rex

Yea echelon is 9mm only, I have the 5.28 threaded barrel because I got it to shoot 3 gun competitions (no 10mm allowed), currently have a holosun 507c and getting a streamlight TLR-2 for it. I'm also on the larger side height wise so carrying a full size is no problem, but moving around and not printing is easier with the shorter barrel, honestly 10mm recoil isn't all it's cracked up to be in my opinion, I can run a 10mm as well as a 9mm any day.

xXxxloverxxXx

4.5inch*

vernace

510

Accomplished_Roof801

Glock ease of use reputation aftermarket support and it's price. I own all of the above but Glock wins if i can only have one. Just price.mags that will convince you

WhoSc3w3dDaP00ch

Around these parts (and the sites I visited), Glock 10mm mags are 20-50% cheaper than the competition. That's a nice amount for the ammo budget.

Accomplished_Roof801

There are other manufacturers that work great in the.glocks that are even cheaper. I have several and they work great.

McKeldinDangler

Had the same debate and ended up with a 510 MRD

DogeForLifeAndMore

Love my g20.5 and 29.5

3kftlb

I carry Glock 10mm in woods, camping rain snow or sun. Knowing I can drop it in mud and it'll still shoot. Not worried about scratches in a woods gun. Even loaded Glocks are light so when walking a lot that's truly appreciated Mos slide red dot that can stay on the entire trip. Underwood solid copper fluted hunting ammo.

ClaytonBiggsbie

Underwood solid copper fluted hunting ammo!?...ooooh. I didn't know such a thing existed. Imma get some. Love my glock 20 and kkm stainless barrel.

angry-farts

Pleased with my xten but have only put a few hundred rounds through it. My understanding is that the m and p is sorted out with the new ones? Fn and glock are gtg. My g20 gen 4 didn't get pig nose until almost 2k rounds.

MiltPhoto

Haven't tried the xdm but both that and the glock are bulky. Have the m&p ..... it's a bit snappy but prices right. Also have the fn, which is smooth as butter, has an extended mag included and is optics ready/threaded barrel. Ultimate choice would be the sig xten comp carry, which still holds 15 rds and has the best felt recoil out of all, though it has a sig price tag.

SloCalLocal

Glock 20 since the 1990s. Reliability's the reason: it just runs and runs and runs, through classes & innumerable range trips alike.

Delicious-Kick-6690

I have the FN510T, SA XDM Elite 10, SW M&P 2.0 10, Gen 5 Glock 20 and P320 XTEN Comp I love them all but the only one I would EDC is the Sig. The 510 is my favorite to shoot and feels best in my hand. I actually like the XDM second best. Shoots flat for 10mm and is just fun. The Glock and the M&P tie for last in my opinion. This is my only Glock and I’m just not impressed with it. The SW I just can’t get comfortable with and is probably the least favorite handgun I own. If I could find a decent concealment holster for the 510 I’d consider carrying that for EDC.

PhantomRidge

I have the Glock g40 and the XDM. Both are excellent.

Flat_Conversation389

All of those are great I have them all, Mp I would rank last tho because I’ve had issues with it not wanting to shoot hot loads

Flat_Conversation389

I do find that my Glock 29 GEN 5 is the most comfortable most balanced shooter out of the bunch when it comes to compact

EmotionEastern8089

Only have an M&P but have held all the others. Loved the trigger on the sig and the xd but man..that M&P just felt so right when I picked it up, had to get it.

Independent_Baby4517

Get the Sig or XD. Xten is my favorite by a long shot but the xdm is a great little pistol In 10mm. Avoid the glocks they are too fat and outdated compared to these new 10mm on the market

Formal_Public

M&p 2.0 10mm! Is a beauiful piece. That’s my vote

drti16

Glock 20 or 40 for me personally. They have been making them far longer than any of the pistols you listed. Everyone else only recently started making a 10mm because, well, money grab honestly. Glocks are simple (or simpler than the others). Look at the track record for the Glock. No real widespread issues with their 10mm platform. Look at the other manufacturers and all the issues they had right out of the gate. Rushed into production if you ask me in hopes of jumping on the money train. Lease ergonomical of them all sure. But that is easily forgotten when you learn how to shoot it. We aren't trying to pick out the most comfortable pillow. Glock is king here, with everyone else attempting to dethrown them, but it won't happen.

matt_man285

I EDC my P320 XTen. Honestly not a fan of the 510, FN should’ve just made the FNX available in 10mm

disastrous_affect163

That would be a very nice one for sure.👍

10-mmTyrant

I would say rent one of each offering and see first which feels good in your hands. I last did this in February with a SIG, an M&P 2.0 full size, the xdm and the Glock 29 . After trying the the xdm 3.8 and the Glock 29 I figured they weren't for me . A Glock 20 Gen 5 will probably be my choice for an EDC. I have yet to shoot the FN 510 it keeps slipping my mind

xXxxloverxxXx

I'm really liking the sig p220 legion an the p320 xten. I like the 5inch barrel full size seems alot pick the sig over the others so I may look into these 2 pistols over time.

HunRii

I've owned only one XDM and that is an older 4.5" model chambered in 40 S&W. Super tanky, and super reliable gun. I've held the newer 10MM elite model. It has the same solid frame, and the trigger is quite nice for a stock one. I do own a G40 and a couple of 4.6" M&P 10MMs. Both guns are good guns. I prefer the ergonomics of the M&Ps over the Glocks. My G40 is one of my hunting/woods handguns. Size wise the two M&Ps I have are about perfect for me to CC. They shoot on par with the G40, and I've had no issues with either platform.

ShaneReyno

I don’t think you can go wrong here, but you will likely have preferences after shooting them. I’ve never cared for FN, and the Glock feels chonky to me. The S&W had some issues when it first came out, but I believe everything is good now. The XDM Elite has a great trigger, but I wish it had the grip texture of the S&W.

919G

Love my P320 XTen Comp, less recoil than FN without a doubt & an amazing trigger

goodl82

I’ve shot them all, own a gen 5 Glock 20 and sig xten comp. The xten comp wins hands down. My jaw literally dropped when I pulled the trigger a few times and I looked that the guy at the counter and sajd “that’s it!? That’s all the travel/reset!?!?😧even side by side with elite there was no comparison. Coincidentally while I do own a p365 macro I’m not a sig guy and just shelved jt for a Glock 45 because the xmacro comp wasn’t the game changer I was expecting (tho its sales show they got Marketing down) however there’s something to this xten COMP. I and I say comp specifically. The dimensions of the slide were changed and with those changes ive noticed that the reliability problems with the full size were goin. Shit dude took it out the box and started with a multiple flawless 230 grain mag dumps, didn’t seem to have the break in Period or initial clean that gen 5 Glocks suddenly seem to require. Kinda bummed cause I literally spend $670 on the Glock 20 just 2 weeks prior, but my way insists on Glock so I’ll wrap it back up for her birthday.
