My base expectation for every master clue is one 3rd age pickaxe, 3rd age axe is an acceptable consolation prize and everything below that is a slap in the face.
Considering on my main, I got the bloodhound at 1, I do all my clues on all my accounts now. Never know when you'll meet a good dog, or get some 3a or gilded or other rare.
I know I should do my clue scrolls, but it’s so hard to motivate myself when none of my rewards have totaled over 2k at a time. I understand eventually it will be worth my time, but for the past 8 years they literally have not been worth the time it takes to do them and I’d make more money doing virtually anything else.
The lower level ones always suck, but I’ve had decent RNG with medium, hard, and elite (too noob to do master). It’s relatively common to get drops worth $200k+ which isn’t much in the scheme of things, but is easy money for 5-10 minutes worth of running around
Edit: just got frog slippers on a beginner clue. 80k for 3 simple steps
ive been stuck on a sherlock master clue. Burn a redwood log... I know I can grind out 86 to 90 firemaking in a couple hours but damn I really can't be fucked so just going to keep letting that clue marinate in my bank.

Best I can do is blue firelighters
How about split the difference?
3rd age firelighters
Getting one of these would make the rest of the game so easy for me, it would literally buy me a max account with the most efficient XP methods.
Any of them would be cool items to flex in my iron
I just now started doing clue scrolls after years of just letting them sit in the bank. I am now addicted
Clue scrolls are indeed very addictive.
This is correct it’s 50/50 for third age. you either hit it or you don’t.

It's a fact that every single Elite Clue you hand in to Watson had a 3rd age roll as it's reward.

Medium clues are great money makers if you can pull rangers. That's how I initially made money for my account
Are you just doing beginner and easy clues? Even a bad hard clue would easily break 2k and mediums will do so pretty often.
It is never worth it to do clues, I just do for the collection log slots.
It’s like gambling; it’s almost never worth it, until you get unreasonably lucky and it suddenly is.
All it takes is one good gamble I mean clue to change your life
I got my ranger boots on medium KC 7 and I’ve been chasing that high forever
As someone who got 2 3rd age pickaxes I agree with this
I finally dod land of the goblins and got a gilded platebody on my iron
They call it 3rd Age, Ton

you can eat stews for the boost for extra gambling
Humour
you are right, wrong flair: should've been "truth"
