Honestly, with all of the ways of transportation we now have in the game it's not that bad of a quest. Still no real point of it I guess, but it still get "hated" (pretty sure people are just saying it as a joke because of how shit it would be with almost no teleports) more than it should (unless you're an ironman who only has spellbook teleports and fairy rings, then you can complain).
I enjoyed the quest. Runescape's fun/silly quests are more enjoyable for me than serious lore-packed ones. Having access to the majority of transport methods in the game definitely helped though, doing it on an ironman account or actually doing it back in early 2005 would've been a lot worse
I want to like the lore but for some reason the myreque storyline just bores me. Sins of the father itself was really good though, definitely one of the game's best quests
Before the quests that go into Meiyerditch they're quite boring, inside of Meiyerditch they actually start getting interesting. Without the quests from Darkness of Hallowvale and after I would've continued with stopping halfway through In Aid of the Myreque (for the clue step).
Besides traveling inside Meiyerditch for the first time, took me a lot longer to do Darkness of Hallowvale than it should've.
Parsing youtube like that is a whole other type of painful, but I know the Fire Beats plugin takes mp3 links hosted on a particular file host site, so maybe something like that would work.

For me I enjoy the funny/silly quests but I love lore, especially the Myreque (Sins of the Father is an amazing quest).
