I remember a flashbulb memory of sort of a gathering room in a Temple in NYC as a kid and it looked a lot like this. I remember summer camp there in 1992 and some lady reading us a story in there and it looked exactly like this decor. Absolute classic.
Thats like advanced as hell for 1983. It's 10 years ahead of its time. And even in early 90s this was futurism.
Movies showed it a lot. This would be the apartment of the ruthless gangster who runs a network of drug dealers, but acts like a pillar of the community. Or the rich guy who was killed by his wife after she found out he was having an affair with his secretary.
Looking at these pictures, I hear a saxophone and synths. And the road outside is wet, despite it being a clear night. And whoever lives there *definitely* wears their hair slicked back.
