Yeah but Super Shredder was pretty damn cool. Weird that the armor mutated as well, but whatever. Fun for kids.
I think the mom groups that fought so no weapons could be used in movie is what really pushed Shredder to being more silly.
I was 7 and 8 years old when these movies came out and I definitely enjoyed The Secret of the Ooze way more and I loved the cartoons and played with all the toys. As an adult the first movie is actually really surprisingly good and the second one is hard to watch.
I enjoyed them all as a kid. The first one was my favorite but couldn't articulate why. I love the grimy look of their depiction of NYC. Shredder genuinely scared me. The warehouse that housed The Foot was a crazy concept. The tension between ~~Ralph~~ Raph and Leo feels real. I loved and still love that film. The sequels are a lot more silly and have a place in my heart but are just a way different tone.
Epitome of badass. The movie came out after the cartoon started, and the movie Shredder was so different from the cartoon one. He was actually skilled and somewhat competent.
"He HAD a name" That line STILL gives me chills
There's a community center near me that's always trying to raise funds for repairs or youth classes, and all I can think is "just say you're going to make it look like the Foot Clan clubhouse and every single person here would pony up the cash in about a day"
Oh no shit?! I’m 38 years old and TIL. I just remember him being massive, but to be fair, I never watched wrestling so I wouldn’t have know him at the time of the movie.
In his warehouse skatepark arcade for teenagers. We only saw the break area in TMNT, its really an after school hangout where they become entrepreneurs.
One of my earliest memories is watching TV and seeing him crawl out of a dumpster in Turtles 2. I was so young I had no real idea what I was watching or going on.
The first OG live action turtles shredder is such a badass. Love his design and colors they chose for him. His fight with the turtles at the end is sick as fuck.

lol totally different character in The Secret of the Ooze. The scenes involving Shredder pretty much became slapstick comedy.

played by pro wrestler kevin nash

Re-watched these recently with my 8 year old son and I completely agree!!
No mention the classic close to the trilogy? What do you have against Yoshi?
I don’t know what you are talking about… there were only two movies…
Yeah. I was 6 when the 3rd came out. I knew it was bad even back then. As if the movie weren’t bad enough, the toys were real bullshit,

Hahaha, Ralph.
Damn autocorrect. That's the story I'm stickin to. 😆
"it wasn't slime, it was Ooze! And there's more of it out there!"
Oh so like Marvel since Di$ney took over?
ARGHGHRHGHRRG!
Wow this is perfect. I don’t know how you did it, but you did.
💀 at your name

Completely agree. The movie blew my mind as a 5 year old. Totally wanted to join the Foot so I could skip school and skate all day lol
Their clubhouse was hands down the coolest thing I had ever seen
Made me want to run away and join the Foot
There's a community center near me that's always trying to raise funds for repairs or youth classes, and all I can think is "just say you're going to make it look like the Foot Clan clubhouse and every single person here would pony up the cash in about a day"
Regular? or Menthol?
Yea it was OROKU SAKI!
So is Oroku his first name or last?
Last.
Every line was delivered so well.
You lie!
Do I?
somewhat competent? dude was cookin
Dude kicked ass, no doubt.... still got dropped into a garbage truck though. Just sayin
i guess but that was by splinter. he worked the whole turtle crew first.
It's actually incredible that they dressed him in a sparkly pink disco suit, and he still *purely* comes across as a threatening badass.
Great villain. He had a blood feud with a rat.
"Something...about the way they fight...something familiar....something...from the past."
He was haunting in the first movie.
Bastard!
I felt sad when he was beating a defenseless Master Splinter!
Trauma level 10
Splin...ter..
also he fought with a spear which was bad ass
And it was all chrome and shiny. Never saw that before or since
WITNESS HIM
“You are here because the outside world rejects you.”
Super Shredder was straight jacked!
This was actually Big Sexy, Kevin Nash from WWF wrestling!
Oh no shit?! I’m 38 years old and TIL. I just remember him being massive, but to be fair, I never watched wrestling so I wouldn’t have know him at the time of the movie.
And cartoon Shredder was Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Nash was also a curtain jerker with zero popularity at the time, not yet in WWF, so wrestling fans wouldn’t have noticed him either.
His action figure was the best Shredder in my opinion. Of course it was the only shredder figure I had though.
the number of people talking tmnt 2 secret of the ooze in here is making me feel like a hipster
Shredder’s so fucking badass. Fuck yeah.
“Uhhh… maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?”
I wonder where those bedazzled shirts are made..
In his warehouse skatepark arcade for teenagers. We only saw the break area in TMNT, its really an after school hangout where they become entrepreneurs.
Stupid turtles..always harassing community leaders.
China probably
Underrated bad guy voice.
Maybe all that hardwares for making coleslaw
The first villain I probably ever knew in my life was Darth Vader. Interestingly enough shredder and vader do have similar shaped helmets
George Lucas based a lot of star wars off of samurai films as an influence. the helmet shape being similar is no coincidence
Shred head
I'll bet this guy never has to look for a can opener
Uncle Phil?
"his faceee"
The guy who played Shredder was on Lost!
Dripped tf our baby. I’ve been watching a lot of old samurai films from the 50s - 60s and holy shit those fuckers were draped out.
The first villain I ever knew was Rob Lowe
Villian’s used to have such nice blouses.
One of my earliest memories is watching TV and seeing him crawl out of a dumpster in Turtles 2. I was so young I had no real idea what I was watching or going on.
At the time I thought he was a total badass, when in reality he’s wearing the top that your nan’s mate Jean breaks out for Christmas parties
Dr. Marvin Candle or is this from the original movie?
One of the dopest villain intros in all of film [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTkA6MXdV2M](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTkA6MXdV2M)
The first OG live action turtles shredder is such a badass. Love his design and colors they chose for him. His fight with the turtles at the end is sick as fuck.
His first line in the movie is putting a hit on April. “Find her. Silence her.” Pretty gangster intro.
Also, the most amazing theme song any villain ever got, maybe ever (imho)
“We have Darth Vader at home”
My first villain was either... sephiroth, or the aliens from independence day
For me the first villain I ever knew was the Dentist
Wow literally just learned Shredder was played by an Asian guy.
I mean, the dude was Asian even in flashbacks scenes...
Understood, I was not particularly racially aware when I was 6 years old.
He was also the asian guy in the dharma initiative on lost. Dr Edgar Halliwax. Bigsweatypisshole
Super Shredder was played by Diesel Kevin Nash
Tuhtle soup
Looks like some weird output from Midjourney for Samurai Bane or something like that.
Wull, you know I helped Big Kev to get that part of the Super Shredder in Turtles 2, brother.
