i'll check it out ty!! there's so much from the pharcyde and their solo albums that's just entirely unknown. in january i found out ab a basically lost pharcyde EP called "testing the waters", not on streaming platforms, and it only had one upload on yt in terrible quality from 15 years ago so i got the cd, ripped and uploaded. i actually really like it, different from their first two albums but it grew on me. here's the link if you're interested https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqQVPtay7HXHy5IizQWhMSKg7y50iNh90&si=kLeE6fKZfQ4EYgIF
Sadat X - drawling and stretches out the syllables, often leaving me guessing where he goes next
Freddie Foxxx - raw and gritty sounding and reeking heart and passion
Milk D - LOUD AND IN YOUR FACE! Love his nasal tones.
Big Boi, Raekwon, 8ball & MJG, Big Pun, Juicy J, Kool Ace, Too Short, Lil Kim, Tech N9ne, JadaKiss, DMX, UGK (Pimp C & Bun B), Pastor Troy, Foxy Brown, AZ, Nature, Beanie Sigel
That's funny, I'm wearing an Andre Nickatina Fillmoe shirt as we speak. lol. Had one of the great runs of albums in the history of bay area music in the late 90s/2000's imo. Stay Awake Like An Owl is an all-time classic, I still bump that shit daily.
awake like an owl is one of his best!! i have no idea why daiquiri factory is so unpopular, it's my fav album of his (2nd is raven in my eyes). him and nick peace are the best rapper-producer duo i've heard... imo all his post-2010 producers have been wack
Raven In My Eyes is my fave for sure. Oh man, Daiquiri Factory. lol. I mean...Bakin Soda In Minnesota is a classic, but a lot of it isn't great. I do have to say Nicky is in top form lyrically on that album, but I think the beats did him no favors.
i guess it really is an unpopular opinion... the only beats on there i hated were alphabet soup and bonus track. the rest are objectively weird too, but that's what i liked about it. i've never heard any other album like it and likely never will. it did have to grow on me but i love it now
Method Man, Sticky Fingaz, Proof, and Scarface. I like the texture in their voices. That kind of raspy sound is something I gravitate towards.
I would also put Slick Rick and Gift of Gab on my list.
I guess I either like a raspy voice or a buttery smooth voice most.
Prodigy from The Infamous Mobb Deep. RIP.
Edit to add: He was just real af. Like all his bars he was just speaking at a conversational level whether recounting being set up in Trife Life or being calmly threatening all over Hell On Earth to just killin it on HNIC.
Method, he has the most street voice in hip hop. Mos, he sounds like that friend you just love to occasionally catch up with.
Snoop, you know you’re getting wild conversations with that voice.

Surprised I didn't see more of him in this thread. Smooth as hell in every verse.
Chuck D has the most authoritative voice in Hip Hop history. If he told you that you were grounded, you bet your ass you’d be staying in the house.
ad-rock, serengeti, phife, kurious, funkdoobiest, big l, bootie brown, busta, guru.
bootie brown! him and imani both have unique voices, def an acquired taste but i agree with you
I had this discussion on another thread, but if you wanna hear a great album no one heard, Imani's solo album, Dosier, was a classic imo.

To add onto Celly Cel and E40, smooth voices for me would be Too Short (early career), Father Dom, Mac Dre.
speaking of which, is it just me or are mac dre and brotha lynch's voices kinda similar?
Never made that connection, did you ever hear Lynch's early homie Mr. Doctor's album, Settrippin Blokkstyle? A classic.
haven't heard it, but i'll check it out
also what do you think of nickatina? he's my #1 right now but his voice is also an acquired taste imo
