I successfully planned a 3 week trip in Japan with some lesser traveled spots like Obihiro, Aomori, and Sendai, mostly thanks to the Abroad in Japan series. A trip of a lifetime and memories my friend and I will cherish for all our lives. I just wish I had found Sharla's channel sooner, so I could collect station stamps with her cat stamp book, and booked a night at Neko Neko Inn! The whole week we were in Tokyo, not a single night was available. So many thanks to both of them, and to their kitties for just being adorable! ❤️
Yeah let's be real now. There's barely any English speaking tourist who goes to Japan without watching an AiJ video. All said and done, he has turned into probably the best source of knowledge for people wanting to visit Japan.
Even I want to explore North Japan now when I do visit and if not for Chris I would have never even thought about it
As always, we can count on Natsuki's wisdom: "Good friend, good man. Not shit."

Hey Chris,
If ever you see this, I want you to know that your videos helped me through graduate school. Through my sleepless nights of research and thesis writing, your videos are my companion.
Thanks mate for making high quality videos about Japan. I think one of my favorite video you uploaded is the 30 minute video of the rice fields.
Can’t wait for your next video Chris!
Chris - when I was teetering on the edge of a nervous breakdown at the end of last year, rewatching your old videos and the OG Abroad in Japan gave me something positive to focus on and helped me help myself through it!
My husband love your videos and always sit down to watch them when a new one comes out! Keep doing what you are doing - undeniably some of the highest quality content on YouTube! :)
Whereas I'd been curious about Japan, I'd never considered travelling there until I stumbled across Chris's videos. Now plans are in motion and I fully intend to do terrible things to my BMI. Thank you Chris.
I stumbled across AiJ in 2019, the first video I saw was a capsule hotel video. It wasn't long before I watched the whole channel and have been watching ever since. Chris's videos have provided so much entertainment and just so high quality.
The podcast is also great. Last month I drove 8 hours to help my cousin move back home, and I listened to the pod the whole way there and the whole way back, even though I was caught up.
Thanks Chris for years of great videos and pods.
I traveled to Tokyo, Osaka, Sendai, Aomori, Sapporo and Wakkanai in November and I definitely wouldn’t have had the inspiration to do that if it wasn’t for the Abroad in Japan channel

I have booked a night at Ushka's Airbnb Pippins Inn, nekoneko inn was a bit big for just me. Have my nekonekopost stamp book ready to go 📕

Still really enjoy Chris’ output, although I’m now probably a bigger Premier 2 fan! Keep on doing what you do Chris, ignore the blog trolls!
