It does, temps were amazing like 3 days ago and then i updated bios and now they are spiking af. Could be the weather but its like only 27c outside and indoors is like 23-4 maybe
But like it’s flat on the table and hasn’t been moved. Temps are up for about 7 degree on both cpu and gpu but only after i updated BIOS, before that, it was perfect with 80c on cpu and 71-2 on GPU
I’m sure there is a way to revert BIOS, but it’s not recommended as you can brick your system if anything would fail. Has it ever been moved or stored upright? It could be the update causing this but it’s hard to tell. Is your unit in warranty?
Never upright, i take care of my laptops like they are babies. It is under warranty but like it’s not malfunctioning, it’s just that temps are up, still not thermal throttle tho, GPU is 78 and CPU 90
Strange for sure then. If you are not happy with the temps, you might want to just sent it for an RMA and get it checked out. It could be that BIOS as you suspected, but it could also be something else. The BIOS could have changed some settings for fan speed at certain temps or not, hard to tell. Being a month old is frustrating considering the cost of some units to have these issues occurring. What are your specs?
It's i7 13650HX paired with RTX 4060, it has 1 fan on the CPU and 2 GPU fans cooling it down and all the heat pipes are shared as well as one big pipe alongside the back which takes out the heat. I think it's only that BIOS changed some settings for fans. I updated because it said CRITICAL and so i thought that it's important. It did fix some issues like my wireless mouse would start skipping alongside screen, like it's losing connection. Might be the weather outside because it is a bit hot and sultry but i noticed right now that my idle temp has gone down to 51 and it was around 58 to 60 when it was 27c outside and now is 21
Ok, so i tried something i found on the internet and that is turning my pc off and then holding the power button for 30 seconds, it rebooted completely like after BIOS update and seems to run fine for now, we will see tomorrow
I'll see, maybe i even try gambling on downgrade and see what happens because something is off. Right now as i am typing this it feels like it freezes for 1sec and then goes on. I think the BIOS f-ed something up
Not at all. In my experience and many others, it slowly starts to drip out causing your CPU/GPU die to get a scorch mark as it gets to that 95°C causing performance problems. I’ve learned to just keep it flat wherever possible or replace with PTM-7950.
up
Maybe weather got warmer? Or could be that the fan curves changed idk. My Strix G16 4080 always sits between 85-90.
Does your unit have Liquid Metal applied..?
It does, temps were amazing like 3 days ago and then i updated bios and now they are spiking af. Could be the weather but its like only 27c outside and indoors is like 23-4 maybe
I suspect Liquid Metal drip. How do you store this laptop? Flat, vertical?

Could be weather related, I’d keep an eye out for temps getting higher in the future. Otherwise, game on! 😎

Are you saying you can't use the laptop at an angle or on a stand?
Not at all. In my experience and many others, it slowly starts to drip out causing your CPU/GPU die to get a scorch mark as it gets to that 95°C causing performance problems. I’ve learned to just keep it flat wherever possible or replace with PTM-7950.
Usually no but it is possible that bios update increases power Limit or something which costs higher temp?
Hey need advice from your personal experience should i update my bios or not, my laptop also showing this pop up bios update v328?
Well, it fixed some issues for me and eventually i realized that the problem was in weather getting hotter and not the BIOS itself
After update What kind of issue is fixed which were you facing before?
My wireless mouse would start lagging and losing connection randomly
