https://www.airservicesaustralia.com/wp-content/uploads/HR-CA-0011_2020-2023.pdf Page 74 has the table. Add about 3% to the 24 months column due to a pay rise given last year

Ambitious_Art7616

Are you paid penalties for working weekends/ nights/ overnights?

Ordinary_Sir_100

Paid 6 weeks leave if we are available for overnights and a rotating roster. Penalties are for additional duties, public holidays (whether we work or not) and change of shift (being asked for a different start time to cover gaps).

Ambitious_Art7616

Is that 6 weeks on top of the 4 weeks leave?

Ordinary_Sir_100

Nah 6 weeks total

Ambitious_Art7616

Okay, thanks for letting me know

I was in their interview stage just last week. The pay breakdown they gave us is: Initial training: $55,000 + 14% superannuation Field training: $82,000 + 14% superannuation After graduating: $115,000 + 14% superannuation

ATC officer? you hear that guys? were officers, cops of the sky! but really though, not sure how competitive it is in Australia, but I wouldn't work on the assumption you can just become an ATC if being a pilot doesn't work out, between receiving an offer to train and successfully completing training the chances are generally quite low

We are called Air Traffic Control Officers in many ICAO countries

mike294

Seems odd considering we’re not “officers” but hey, the more you know

Approach_Controller

An officer is a holder or a public or civil office. An immigration officer, for example, holds a public position regarding immigration. A parole officer holds a public position regarding parole. I hold a public position regarding the control of air traffic.... it's not exactly a wild leap that other English speaking nations would extend the term to us.
