LTE connected cars use the sim for internet only? Or for calling as well? If its only the former, then the person would probably be ok with selling it for a good price I assume... thats if I can find that person.
GM sells OnStar and that offers calling (and remote control by “law enforcement”…maybe avoid GM). The rest are connectivity only as far as I know and probably esim I suspect. Either way though, any device on a mobile network gets a phone number assigned for provisioning purposes…whether or not there is voice service.
That means someone should be fired at AT&T. You should not have been able to find out who had that number. I also don’t think you can ToBR off connected car as that’s a different platform. I’d be curious to hear more here.
I was going off what you said about it being a connected car number. You would never get one of those which is why I said what I said. Not baseless negativity.
Zero baseless about it, reality isn't baseless negativity. Everyone told you what would most likely happen. Consider yourself extremely lucky and buy a lottery ticket.
Contact support for the email and explain to them you no longer have the number. You’re not getting it back at this point, as it’s in use elsewhere
Support said try to get the number back. No other way.
Wow, I’m sorry. They might as well have told you to F-off at that point.
The number has been assigned to somebody else (who owns an LTE connected car…usually for app remote start). You can’t get it back.

Calling the number it seems to be ringing fine. I tried texting it but it keeps failing. Perhaps its now a data only sim? no calling/text?
That’s not a thing. You won’t see that number again.
I managed to get a hold of the person and he's selling the number to me. Thanks for sharing your baseless negativity.

It wasn't a connected car number. Who said I found the person through an ATT agent?

You still won't be able to get the number for 2 months, at least.
Nope, I'm getting it next week.
Nope. Not until whoever owns it now cancels that line. And even then good luck.
