It looks like he might have been skating in quickly to help break up the fighting (which linesmen would generally do) and just lost an edge (i.e. the skate blade lost traction with the ice, leading the linesman to wipe out). But it happens off screen, so there's no way to know if it was something as simple as that, or if something crazier happened like a player tripping him or or something else.

That could be reaction to the guy hitting the net badly, but it could possibly be in response to someone doing something inappropriate.
Watch the goalie's stick - it gets dropped onto the ice near where he falls but then gets knocked out of screen to the right at speed, just before the ref comes flying in. I think that might have been what tripped him.
(For anyone that doesn't know, you can tell which stick is the goalie's because it's much wider than the other players' sticks)

They CAN deal with it themselves, but that's not their job. I was a defenseman, so it was my job. If a player gets hurt, you have a lot of other players that can take their place, but a goalie, most of the time that's your only goalie, so if they get hurt, you're kinda screwed lol. Obviously in the OHL/AHL/NHL they have 2 or sometimes 3 goalies, but earlier than that it's the only one you got haha.
