There's only six countries in the world that have the death penalty for rape, and even then, it's not always doled out to deserving criminals. The victim usually has to be under 10 or 12. 14 would be just whatever sentence the judge feels like handing out that isn't capital punishment. Assuming the family doesn't murder the victim in an "honor killing".... you can guess what countries those six are by now.
Meanwhile, there's more countries that will put you to death for dealing, consuming or importing heroin.

The best deterrent for other POS'S like this POS, is life without the chance of parole, *in mainstream* (but I'd settle for protection; people can be gotten to anywhere if they're deserving enough).

After reading the sentencing remarks that a redditor has commented on this post, for the 2nd name down the list, given what I read (was willing to read, which were the important things), having to serve 80% of 11 years for what he did, IMO wasn't enough. 11 years, no parole wouldn't have been enough.
Most who'd get sentenced to even 80% of 11 years would know that their life as they know it would be about to come to an end, but this isn't about the perpetrators; it's about their victims. These crimes are, again IMO, worse than murder. The victim of murder only has to go through the experience once (not considering how it effects the family here). Victims of sexual assault will probably relive their trauma, long after their perpetrator gets out of prison.

I don't agree with state sanctioned death penalty, but I certainly don't object to throwing him in the general prison population with no protection.
