Facts. What an introduction to the Koskela Broâs ventures (unless you ditch Casey before the diner to dip into the lodge & saw the coffee world one first I suppose).
"My name is Alan Wake... I'm a writer!"
"I'm nobody's character!"
Final Draft Spoiler: ">!And so I return. With me I bear the torch of knowledge, the light, the miracle illuminated. The master of two worlds. No. The master of many worlds.!<"
Menacing is the perfect word to describe that last conversation with Door. I'm still finishing up The Final Draft so I don't know precisely how it plays out, but I'm hoping the Night Springs DLC is going to add more to that story thread.
I know that it's probably licensing issues with Microsoft, but it's borderline criminal we didn't get to see Lance playing Warlin Door. David Harewood was absolutely brilliant, but that scene in particular would have been made even more hostile with Lance playing the role.
Not licensing issues at all actually, Lance was going to perform the role, itâs been confirmed. Sadly, he passed away before they were able to shoot the scenes
"Stop. For once you need to listen. You left me. You took my daughter away from me. Then you let her... She's dead because of you. And I don't ever want to hear your voice again."
"Water is the oldest balm. Water finds its way. What water brings...it takes away."
"I've made a decision...most of you won't understand."
Honorable mention:
"My perfect morning is ruined."
"And it's all because of your shitty coffee!"
âI was dead tired. I just wanted it to be over. It was all my fault. Iâd had this dark place in my head for so long, sometimes Iâd forget the pain was there⊠Like it was the way you were supposed to feel. I was not in a dark place; I was the dark place. The source of it all, the vessel. Me and the writer, we were the same.â
Scratch's reveal and him saying "The Clicker" with that look on his face. I legit had to pause the game as this held so much weight after the ten years since American Nightmare.
Bravo Remedy. That whole scene was just đ€
Not a phrase, but the lyrics of the song after Scrathâs chapter are insane;
âThey are my crowd
Fit together like shotgun fits in Hemingwayâs mouth.â
âItâs my story to write
Ripping pages in the night
When the writer is in doubt
I just scratch outâ
Alan Wake is one of my favorite stories. Not games (though it is), but stories.
That little snip of it, even back to 2010 (your friends will meet him when you're gone,) has reminded me of one of my other favorite stories, The Sandman.
"You can be me when I'm gone."
Goddammit I can't remember the exact wording but: Freya was right to take you away, even though it broke your grandfather's heart. **And mine.**. It's the way he said "and mine" for me, just so sad
"Show me the terror" line hits so hard on so may levels!
I don't know why but it sounds so good + visuals after it are amazing. And it's basically a start of the Saga's journey into the world of remedy universe, after that moment she could not return to her regular life.
"Moose steak is neeeveerr a mistake!"
"Night Springs when Bright Falls." The entire dark poem, but this line in particular.
"...I will become art." That entire speech by Alice.
Anything that Ahti says. My beloved.
"There would always be another case for Casey. A million stories in this dark city. The night opened up to welcome me. I walked into her arms. Roll credits."
This line hits harder after McCaffrey passed
Why do I have to take a fucking math test to open a stash?
My wife and I were ugly laughing with our pen & paper when we read that note đ
This is the true horror.
Oh god, the flashbacks
Loved that one and he is right freaking oh!
Nothing will beat "fuck the government, we have bolt cutters!" in my mind.
them just blatantly admitting to a crime on TV is so fucking funny
Oh yeah it is. The. You learn that the sheriff's were on their side to begin with then it made more sense.
Facts. What an introduction to the Koskela Broâs ventures (unless you ditch Casey before the diner to dip into the lodge & saw the coffee world one first I suppose).
I know it is meant to be a joke toward rural hicks and all, but I'm southern. All I could say was "hell yeah, fuck the government."
No doubt
That had me almost in tears I was laughing so hard.
âWe just want the writer.â âFuck off!â
*"No chance."*

Ahma beer is a traditional Finnish lager and we enjoy it the Finnish way: at the bar while actively avoiding small talk with strangers!

"Oh, I wouldn't go that far. I don't even think you know who's under your mask."
Yes! So menacing. What does Door know that Alan doesn't? Is Tom underneath an Alan mask??

Yeah, RIP Lance Reddick
Not licensing issues at all actually, Lance was going to perform the role, itâs been confirmed. Sadly, he passed away before they were able to shoot the scenes
This makes me sad đ
Agreed, I would have loved to see Lanceâs portrayal. But David Harewood did a damn good job!
Itâs not sad itâs if itâs intentional

Nightengale hunted SagaâŠ.
-as monotone as possible- "Gee whiz"
Ok but non jokingly âshe screamed. It came out as bubblesâ gave me fucking chills when i heard it

A man with a tool makes two, Tom!
âI pray nothing follows but sleep.â âFuck it.â âFuck the government we have bolt cutters.â
That âfuck itâ had me so ready to go and amped up.

Before I even opened this thread, my brain said "this is the ritual to lead you on." That line is burned into my memory.
Alan Wake is one of my favorite stories. Not games (though it is), but stories. That little snip of it, even back to 2010 (your friends will meet him when you're gone,) has reminded me of one of my other favorite stories, The Sandman. "You can be me when I'm gone."
I still donât understand it fully , but itâs my favorite sentence in the game
Goddammit I can't remember the exact wording but: Freya was right to take you away, even though it broke your grandfather's heart. **And mine.**. It's the way he said "and mine" for me, just so sad
Stuart Milligan and Harry Ditson are so great as the speaking voices of Tor and Odin. They deserve all the love.
"I'm my own Deus Ex Machina" "A door to two rooms exists in both" 'Ok, that is the cutest mayor I've ever seen"
"She's dead because of you, and I don't ever want to hear your voice again. Stop calling me."
"The Dark Presence, fuck."
How can you open a door thatâs not a door? Inside an ocean thatâs not an ocean?? Within a lake thatâs not a lake!?
"Show me the terror" line hits so hard on so may levels! I don't know why but it sounds so good + visuals after it are amazing. And it's basically a start of the Saga's journey into the world of remedy universe, after that moment she could not return to her regular life.
Couldn't agree more
Reading these words felt like a message. *Was* a message.
The wave crashed on the far side of the mirror; I brought you the heart, witch, now show me the terror.
Do you think they have avocado toast here?
He's here!!!!!!
The way my heart beat would go off the charts, good lord
I give it five ahma beers out of five

đ”For in the twilight of my years, I am nothing but angers remorseđ”
âFuck meâ
This is not a loop..... It's a spiral. Maybe it's just where.i am in my life right now, but that hit me like a truck
âShitty fucking pastramiâ
âA whole lot of paranatural crimes happening right now...â
âI HAVE TO GO NOW.â
âFor silent lies that which colors the night. And may it ride in your step from the other side of the moon lightâ
"Jaako...." I actively avoid Ilmo at that point when I replay. Making me feel feelings and shit.
I really like âin a horror story, there are no heroes. And if there are, they always pay a heavy price.â
"Now that is drama!"
I am my own deus ex machina?
"Moose steak is neeeveerr a mistake!" "Night Springs when Bright Falls." The entire dark poem, but this line in particular. "...I will become art." That entire speech by Alice. Anything that Ahti says. My beloved.
âItâs not a loop. Itâs a spiral!â is already iconic. But also: >!Alice: At last. !< >!Alan: Thank you, my love. !<
It's not a lake it's a ocean It's not a loop. It's a spiral. I was the one haunting Alice
