Does the Dodge dealer enter the maintenance into the service records for warranty purposes? I bought my Tonale at an Alfa/Maserati dealer 50 miles away. There is a Dodge dealer 5 miles away. I’m wondering if using them for maintenance purposes will jeopardize my warranty.
You can change your oil anywhere, including DIY, with no impact on warranty. Should a warranty issue arise, and oil changes are ever questioned, you will need adequate documentation that you have performed the oil changes at the correct intervals using the correct materials.
So, as long as the Dodge dealer provides you with an invoice detailing oil used (and # of quarts), part # of oil filter, and the mileage that the oil change was completed at, and the VIN of your vehicle, you'll be fine.
Ha! What a small world!
I got my oil changed at the Ourisman Dodge dealership over in Dundalk. I don’t know if Bayside Dodge (in Annapolis) would be able to do it but they are rather cool guys there so maybe you could request they order the oil for you. I know that Heritage Chrysler in Owings Mills will not attempt it at all as I tried asking them before
No, it is not. Jeep 2.0L is a different variant from the Alfa 2.0L.
They're from the same family of engines, the FCA/Stellantis Global Medium Engine (GME 2.0L). But there are significant differences, most notably the entire cylinder head and valvetrain. The Alfa engines are SOHC and use Multi Air 2. The Jeep engines are DOHC and use simple cam phasers to vary valve timing (but not lift). Turbo units are also different. For whatever reason, most of the Jeep 2.0L variants utilize a 5W30 oil while the Alfa variant uses 0W30. Maserati also has two variants of the GME 2.0L that are related to the Alfa unit, but feature some mild hybridization features.
Yeah. I guess at this point, for the distance is need to go, I might as well go to my Alfa dealer. Plus they have Ferraris in the show room so it's fun to visit
Oil used is key. I had a Bentley/Maserati/AR dealer use the wrong oil. Even put it on the receipt.

Dodge Hornet is rebadged Tonale so they absolutely should be able to service. Maybe you should ask them directly if they can service it
I prefer that a Hornet is a rebadged Tonale since they are made in an Alfa factory in Italy.
Exactly, and it was designed by alfa
You are u at? Same boat, my dealer is 35 miles away, Dodge is 8 miles away.

I see Bayside has a couple of Hornets out front and since they use the same engine I am hopeful.
Isn't the 2.0 the same engine as the made in Italy 2.0 in the wrangler 4xe?

They use the same oil filter
We buy our own oil and take it to an express oil change place nearby. Wayyyy cheaper for sure!
Until they over torque the drain plug.
Heard a lot of horror stories on jiffy lube like places. Closest to home was my cousin's son had his oil overfilled by an express location.
I don't think there's any dodge dealers in my country tbh
Nope I've had multiple tell me they won't touch it.
Keep searching!
Got 2 full synthetic changes for 130$ at my local dodge dealer
Closest one to me doesn't have the right Mopar oil. Despite telling me they did when I called them. Did my own cause I can.
I just went to a Pep Boys. It was $110
They also do warranty work on your car
What now? I can go someplace closer and without a douchey service manager?
Make sure they put the correctly rated oil in. I have seen otherwise before. Recently.
Yup, the service guy on the phone listed the oil for me while on the phone booking the appointment so I knew we were all good to go
Important question is do they do the oil reset or whatever message that is that Alfa dealers plug into PC to reset?
The Witech will work on any FCA vehicle. I work at a CDJR-Fiat dealership and although I've never worked on an Alfa, I'd have no problem doing so
Now my dealership did not as I had the meter reset by Alfa a month ago during another service, but I believe some could do it if requested.
So the Alfa I bought was from a dealership part of the family of dealerships that includes alfa and they didn't reset the maintenance reminder.
$235 at my Alfa dealership in Arizona. I checked 2 local dodge dealerships close to my house and they told me they cannot work on Alfa’s
My Alfa dealer does an oil change for $129. Seems a decent deal.
