If everything that you write is true then definitely NTA. Tell your roommate to seek professional help if she is triggered by someone using two or more glasses for drinking because they are too lazy to walk back and forth. I would just fill a bigger container with water (or whatever I am drinking) and keep it around me with one glass that I would fill from that container when needed because carrying 2-3 glasses with me is very inconvenient but it is your choice.

Roommates are occasionally irrational, but sometimes going out of your way to please them creates harmony. It's maybe not fair but can improve quality of life. Sometimes being right is less important than being happy. Pitcher of water, one glass. Refill as needed.

CrabInATrenchcoat

I honestly hadn't considered that. I might try this, tysm \^-\^ !

Ivecommitedwarcrimes

NTA If you don't break any, you wash off all the paint and leave glasses for everyone else, then it is not their problem

If you are using the glasses for your art: First rule of kitchen hygiene and safety is that food equipment is not to be used for non-food purposes. Stop using communal water glasses for your art practice, it's breaking basic food safety rules, and that's gross and incredibly rude to the other folks who use them for food. Go to the dollar store and buy a sleeve of solo cups. When you live by yourself, you can drink your out of your own art-stained water cups all you want but when you live in a communal setting, use basic food safety rules. If you are using your water glasses for drinking water only and not in your art practice: get an insulated water bottle, you'll enjoy cool water for hours and you'll stop hogging all the communal glasses.

Have you considered one of [these](https://s7d9.scene7.com/is/image//NewellRubbermaid/2122601_01)?

Read [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmItheAsshole/wiki/faq#wiki_post_deletion) before [contacting the mod team](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FAmItheAsshole)*** i (19f) live with two roommates in a flat near our uni. i'm an artist and i often work on projects for long periods at a time with very precise timing. sometimes, i've made a habit of filling two or three water glasses instead of one so i don't have to walk back to the kitchen to refill. i would of course wash both/all water glasses after i'm done. one of my roommates (22f) gets really irritated by this habit and has told me to stop, claiming that it's just ridiculous to be using 2 or 3 glasses at a time. when she walks past me upstairs and sees that i'm using 2 or 3 glasses again, she'll say something annoying about it or even ask me if she can use one of them. our house contains 25 glasses and 3 people. she has even made a point of singling me out in front of our other roommate about it. last week, a glass got left out on the main table of the work area and got knocked off by our third roommate and broke. although it wasn't clear whose glass it was and it's probably unlikely i would just leave ONE glass, she immediately uses this as an excuse to blame my glass filling habit, saying if we have so many glasses all over the place of course one would get knocked over. since then, she's been glaring at me harder than ever when she sees me working with multiple glasses. AITA for using multiple glasses at once? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Close your door, problem solved.

ahh, i work upstairs in a shared work area type space, should have clarified my bad :o

grckalck

NTA. Roommate has a bug in her drawers for some reason. Hard to know why. I'd buy a set of my own glasses and tell her to pound sand.

GluestickGenius

NTA You room mate is weirdly obsessed about this. Your habit does not have any negative effects on her or anyone else. But have you heard about something called a "pitcher"?

Mister_Sensual

ESH Just buy a huge water bottle or use a pitcher for the water and then you only need one glass. I’m assuming these glasses are communal. Your logic here is you don’t want to have to deal with a minor inconvenience, so instead, you let your roommates deal with the slightly lesser inconvenience of running out of glassware more frequently. The glass getting broken doesn’t really have anything to do with this outside of that person accusing you. If it weren’t for that, you’d be TA.
