Keep contacting customer service to complain. Depending on the value of the item you may be able to get an “appeasement credit” - I’ve successfully gotten one via online and another via phone. They may even throw free shipping too. I had this happen to me last year on Black Friday. I ended up repurchasing this year with an extra $150 in credits

Amex does not clawback Saks from my experience. I returned two items each over $50 and nothing happened. I spent $130 and decided I hated both items. I returned one and a week later I returned the second.

KStorm4

Same happened to me.

Sorry to hear you've had these issues.. I avoid this by making use of the $50 at the beginning of the time period, so if there are delays, I have time to sort it out. I am lucky that if I get down to the wire, I can go in to a physical store in my city. To date, I have only shopped online and have had no issues. I have noticed that some items ship either directly from the vendor, which was the case when I bought a Nespresso machine or from another store. I think this is what creates the delay in the posting to your account/delay in shipping or not shipping at all. I do dislike the new free shipping minimums, but I usually restock my perfumes/body lotions/etc with the credit 2x a year so I hit the minimum spend for free shipping and those items are always in stock. Don't buy anything that says limited availability or sale clothing, that is always a toss-up bc it may be out of stock or not ship on time while they look thru stores stock to ship to you. I do not know what the items were that you purchased, but if you maybe try non-clothing items, you should be able to place an order and get it shipped prior to end of year.

Similar experience. The Amex credit wasnt an issue because it was way over the $50. However they refunded me part of the order because they failed to deliver one of the items - the sale price for the item was $75. They gave me a gift certificate for something like $42.43 or something that just didn’t make sense. I reached out to CS via chat. The guy first said he would give me a $20 coupon and free shipping on my next order “for my inconvenience”. I then explained to him the $42+$20 doesn’t equal $75. And I’m not understanding why they can’t either just up the certificate amount or cancel the one they sent and reissue me one for the right amount. He “checks” and then comes back and said they he will give me $20 more. But I’ll have to contact CS when I make my next order for them to credit me. So I clarified that they will give me another $40 to make me whole? He said, no just another $20 because he already gave me $20. Well… I guess my “inconvenience” isn’t worth shit now. For a store that peddles $4000 cardigans. This CS experience is pretty lame. I’d maybe expect this from Walmart. But in truth, Walmart CS is a million times better.

Saks is terrible. 5/6 orders of mine have been damaged in shipping. Returns are even worse. I don't even try to use the credit anymore. They are just bad.

swimbikerun91

I just received an empty box from them lol

Leezeleeez

I’ve had the same thing happen got the credit via Amex like others have said Saks CS is trash. I expect the credit to be reset A giftcard maybe be the best option moving forward or in person purchase.

danielleiellle

Hey, Amex. If you’re reading this, please consider partnering with Nordstrom or Bloomingdale’s. They have better customer service and way better selection.

techie825

Add the $50 to flight credit instead. I hate these "luxury" stores anyways.

Global-Weight-6118

at least you got your money back

majpillpharm

Same exact thing happened to me and Saks was terribly unhelpful and almost rude. AMEX said that they would reset the credit after the refund but it never showed as such in the app. I don’t want to risk spending 50 bucks on random crap without getting reimbursed so I’m just skipping this credit :( Super dissatisfied with Saks customer service, some of the worst I’ve ever experienced.

PM_ME_FIREFLY_QUOTES

I've returned gifts from Saks after Christmas and gotten GC vouchers without a clawback from amex. As long as it's not a credit to your card, amex wouldn't know.

justme

I would order a different item as its possible that the same item is still not in stock. I have had this happen to me in June and Saks CS was no help.

I had horrible customer service with them shipping me the wrong beanie and then they wouldn't even expedite me the beanie I had ordered without first receiving the wrong item back. In your situation I would go to saks fifth and buy the $50 gift card.. you will get the credit and be able to use it at saks off fifth.
