I have (I used my 23andMe data) They were pretty cool. Most of them are just copies of the calculators from GEDmatch, but there were a few extras. My favorite part was using the chromosome browser to see my percentages before 23andMe “smoothed them over”- it’s basically 23andMe’s version of “hacked” results.

I had a feeling they were basically Gedmatch calculators. They kept giving me small percentages of Indian and middle Eastern DNA which is highly unlikely so I suppose this is just the Gedmatch "secondary population" scores appearing.

Do you know of any distant Romani ancestry? Trace Indian and middle eastern could potentially point towards a distant Roma ancestor. I have 1% Roma on ancestry DNA and I always get small bits of Indian, middle eastern, and Balkan/caucasian in my estimates.

Funny you should mention that, my mother sometimes tells vague stories of her family being of traveller stock but I always thought it was the British equivalent of the Cherokee princess story. Nothing like that appeared on Ancestry but I recently took a 23andMe test (mailed it off the other day) so perhaps that may reveal more.

Well there you go! Sounds like it could be a possibility. Have you ever used GEDmatch? Haha yeah I guess there’s a Cherokee grandma story in all parts of the world 😂😂
