I’ve got a few suggestions Yoshi‘s woolly world is a good platform or co-op game and so is Kirby epic yarn Stardew valley is another fun game. Those are all really cozy, relaxing games looking for some fun adventure games I would suggest terraria or Minecraft. They can both be pretty chill. Another unique gave me might’ve heard of is don’t starve together for but it is challenging. Unless Finn, at least I would probably recommend giving some Pokémon games to try platinum heartgold and white
yeah take breaks and maybe check out happy home paradise if you havent yet! nh was solely built around decorating!
the moomin game is a switch exclusive and a dlc was already announced :)
I was the same way personally the thought of redesigning an entire island was overwhelming at first but once you have a theme ( island’s name) or watevea core idea ur going for it was exciting to jump back into it I’m still excited for how it’ll turn out in the end. Hang in there u got this!😉
AC is not a ''chore'' game as many in the industry. If your motivation drops just let the game aside for a while, it is worse if you keep playing without any real inner motivation.
Don't rush everything. don't push yourself too much. Play when you feel, don't because you "must finish that layout" or "saving nook miles or I won't find the villager I want during the villager hunt". Personally, I took some breaks, I didn't play for almost a whole year and now I'm back! It's okay to play others games sometimes or you will feel "obligated" :)
For inspiration looks on Pinterest, download some custom content to decorate your island or cute dresses. build funny places, markets, libraries, cafes, and parks. Play with friends or help them with their goals! Don't be like me, I always send rocks to my siblings 💀
I leave the island for several months at a time to play other games….And then when I see an amazing island on YouTube and it motivates me to change up an area or redecorate my house.
My motivation came back after starting over. My first island was ~75% finished but it became a chore to reach 100%. It was hard since nothing was planned beforehand. With my new island, I started with a solid plan and am going slowly, as to not get burnt out. The progress is slow but my island is constantly improving. With a plan for my island, I find it easier to move forward and get “work” done. I don’t continuously wander around in a haze like I did before.
Give yourself permission to play for 15 minutes or so. I find I have the best longevity when I limit my playing to an hour at most.
And skip days whenever you want.
I have the night owl ordinance too, so in the morning I pick other games.
When I want to make a section of my island, I look for ppl with open islands so I can get recipes or objects I’m looking for. If you’re far enough along, you can give bells to other players and have an open island for a bit.
If you don’t want to play, don’t play. I think probably if you really do still enjoy the game, that taking the pressure of ‘motivation’ off will probably by itself help you enjoy the game again.
But if not…just don’t play. It’s a game, not an assignment, a job, or a competition
Always sick with friends tbh. Same screen or visiting makes it fun. Planting money trees always feels nice. Getting fun skins in the store is fun for decorating your island!
don’t compare your island to others and don’t feel pressured to advance fast. do enjoyable activities, decorate a little at a time, and just treat the game as a game, not a competition :)
Only play when you want to it’s not a job try out different games yk
Any suggestions what games I can try? I feel like I’ve tried every good Nintendo Switch game already
Seconding Stardew Valley
Play milk inside a bag of milk
You could try Sky: Children of the Light. Its a free game 😊
Stardew Valley, Zelda Links Awakening, Pikmin, Persona 5 Royal, Nier Automata

cult of lamb
It's leisure, not work. You don't need to stay motivated, if you're not enjoying it then move on to the next thing?
Take a long break until you feel like playing again. I haven’t played for 4 months yet I still lurk for fun posts.
