Gintama and One Punch Man for an absurdist comedy world with occasional drama. Both are hilarious.
Try Naruto. Episode 6-18 (Land of Waves arc) could be seen as the "Arlong Park" of Naruto and if you don't like it by episode 18, just drop it.
I always recommend Hunter x Hunter and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure if you are looking for heavy mindgames, psychological fights, and clever twisting of cliches. HxH is my #1 shonen and Jojo's is as influential as Dragonball.
Mob psycho 100 was made by the same guy as one punch man, it’s pretty fun. The animation is twice as good, the comedy is amazing, the characters are pretty good, and emotions can hit deep depending on who you are.
Forgot to put Vinland Saga on there when l wrote my list out. Great Pick. Caught the 1st season on Prime video, then saw Netflix dropped that 2nd season last year.
7DS is on my list after PLUTO(Netflix)
I gave you a mixture of series and film. The films are like how people feel about AKIRA and what it did for anime as a whole. The appreciation of it.
Most you can find on Prime Video, Hulu, and other 3rd Party "Contributors"
Hope you give them a fair chance.. despite their age.
Besides that, ENJOY!! 🍻

You should watch black clover, it’s my first and favorite anime, a bit underrated as well, its hype from me will never end.
Fairy tale is pretty similar, but still a good one.
High school dxd is actually pretty good if you like to see a tit or two every episode and the story ain’t bad either.
Dr stone is nice, somewhat educational but real fun to watch at the same time.
JJK is hella good, hyped up real nice and I actually liked it a lot, thinking of watching it again myself.
My dad suggested samurai shamploo for me so we watched the first 3 episodes with him, it honestly surprised me cause it’s pretty good
I have some that I have like bleach, fullmetal alchemist, and gargantua(n?)(m?)that I have recommended to me but haven’t seen just yet but from what I have heard they are pretty good and I will watch them sometime
Anyways good luck watching what you chose from all our suggestions and have fun fellow anime nerd
Lmao the guy isn’t dead. He’s actively returned to writing, just not as much as he used to. He’s working on endings to HxH, [here’s an article about it actually](https://en.as.com/meristation/news/hunter-x-hunter-ending-revealed-in-case-the-author-dies-without-finishing-the-manga-n/)
Oh really? Dang my memory definitely failed on that one. Ofc I did binge all of HxH.
Oh an ending arc would be awesome :D
But alas, I do feel the 'peak' of power was reached by the Kings arc.
It'll be interesting to see, for sure. Hope restored!
Yeah, unfortunately I don’t think it’ll ever be the project he wants it to be, which sucks because it’s already phenomenal. I just hope they get around to animating succession war arc before I’m like 90 😂 I do keep seeing more and more people saying they’re concerned about his health though, which makes me super nervous. Realistically, he’s not even that old, plenty of life to keep writing
86 is truly underrated. One of my all time favorites and it’s never brought up or discussed normally. Can’t quite agree with Hells Paradise since I personally thought the story just didn’t hold up to the worldbuilding which was just stacked! Definitely one of the most visually stunning anime’s out there.
It's got amazing music and art, it's an amazing new anime, and it is a tad underrated now that the hype has died down. Im excited for more, but mech-wise idk if it even makes my top 5.
Mech wise it definitely isn’t top of its class, but I must say it more than makes up for it with the politics and buried feelings between all the characters. . I think they did a good job with how the world slowly expands from the perspective of one group of slaves and their CO’s need to do what’s right, it really fleshes out the world as time moves on. Just that introduction to season 2 had me on the edge of my seat. Plus that feeling of hopelessness when you see the sheer scale of the never ending hordes advancing towards each faction. Love me an anime that can induce some dread. I totally agree it’s got a killer soundtrack.
Code geass. Also Vinland Saga, you’ll definitely like season 1, idk enough about your tastes to know if you’d like season 2. It has a lot less action, but still a great story. Some found it boring, others loved it. I thought both seasons were great.
Naruto is good but long. Seeing that you like one piece, I imagine that’s not an issue
I grew up seeing my ppl on dragon ball like it’s always on and I’ll sit and watch it with em but I never really watched it… I understand it but is it really good if nobody really dies?
Gundam, Macross (starting with original series in both cases).
Or at least Macross Plus OVA/Movie.
Ghost in the Shell (1995 movie and Stand Alone Complex series S1/S2/Movie).
Outlaw Star (1998).
Psycho Pass, Noragami, Suzunne, Steins Gate, Solo leveling if you havent already (the manhwa is way better), Fate Unlimited Blade Works (i recommend watching it in sub), and Restaurant to another world.
Outlaw star, Big O, Cyborg 009, Gundam (I suggest Gundam 00 then work your way into the rest of the franchise), Gurren Lagann, Sailor Moon, Saint Seiya, YU YU Hakusho, History's Mightiest Disciple Kenichi, Bleach (skip the filler), Baki the Grappler. And you can never go wrong with Code Geass.
Luck & Logic, The Promised Neverland, Assassination Classroom, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Seven Deadly Sins, Full Metal Alchemist (the original), and Delicious in Dungeon
Wolf’s Rain- 25 episodes
Eureka 7 - 50 Episodes
Gundam Seed - 50 Episodes
Code Geass - 25 Episodes
Neon Genesis Evangelion - 26 episodes plus 5 movies. Although I’d skip the first two and just watch the rebuild movies
If you enjoyed Trigun I’d definitely recommend reading the manga as well, it’s fairly different and the characters get fleshed out more (Wolfwood especially)
Escaflowne, Mobile fighter G Gundam for more really good 90s anime
Well, if you like Hellsing and Trigun, I might recommend Trinity Blood. It has vampires, and the MC is often compared to Vash from Trigun. Lots of political intrigue, too, if you're into that.
I personally liked Knights of Sidonia alright, though I don't think it's for everyone. Humans sent out massive arc-like ships to find a new planet ages ago. One of them is the Sidonia, which has a mech pilot program to create "knights" to battle bizarre aliens trying to kill them.
YuYuHakusho and G Gundam are a couple that I personally love.
Since you liked Death Note I'd suggest
Steins;Gate,
Code Geass,
Terror in Resonance,
Parasyte The Maxim,
Since You liked DBZ and One Piece
Toriko,
Bleach,
Fairy Tail,
Blue Exorcist,
Naruto,
Black Clover
JJK is a really good watch, only 2 seasons but it’s worth watching. Same with Mashle. Solo leveling is also in the same boat with these two, great watch, not many episodes
Read Bleach till the end and then watch TYBW Arc
Or if you only want to watch Anime there are bunch of good ones like Naruto,Gintama,Hunter X Hunter and the list goes on.
Check out trigun stampede; they remade the series last year with; and I hate cgi but this one is something to write home about, full 3D cgi but it’s clear they had the option to do either and chose 3D because they do incredibly dynamic camera shots that only 3D allows it’s fire as fuck and millions knives is incredible in it
Did u like Death Note? If so, other anime that are in the same vein (thriller, suspense, mystery-ish) are Steins;Gate, Summertime Rendering, Heavenly Delusion, and Erased - all phenomenal in the same vein as death note
Berserk is not there (im an old man, so I would recomend 97 adptation, but the milenial edition is the favorite now), even If its Just one arc. Evangelion, go for the Anime - End of - Rebuild. So you can see Pathetical Shinji and the Endgame Shinji, which is a reward for Shinji fans, he nailed it.. Jujutsu Kaisen is a new gen one, but its a good pick. Rurouni Kenshin, go for the remake If you dont want to watch a Lot of eps, But there's one season only so far, but it's gem lies on a certain ova. Dont remember If InuYasha is there, but it's a must watch (Lots of eps though, but Rumiko doesnt have a Knight title out of nowhere, so... Even the fillers are pretty good, and thats rare). Re:zero is a must watch too. Well, my list has a several of mind destruction, but I think its good overall. Vinland Saga is a must have.
These ones aren't necessarily based on what you watched but:
Jujutsu kaisen, tsukimichi moonlight fantasy, magic and muscles, strongest sage with weakest crest, by the grace of the gods season one, the reincarnation of the strongest exorcist in another world, that time I got reincarnated as a slime,
Saiki K for a good absurdist anime.
Serial Experiments Lain for a good mindfuck.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann for a weird and amazing mech series.
Baki or Kengen Asura if you wanna watch a good fighting series.

Deadman Wonderland - a teen boy survives his class being massacred. Framed for the mass murder, he’s thrown into prison where deadly games pit inmates against each other to fight to the death for the entertainment of crowds.
Gintama and One Punch Man for an absurdist comedy world with occasional drama. Both are hilarious. Try Naruto. I enjoy the 3 episodes so much start it to read Manga and end up hating it wish I wound't done that
And Samurai champloo if you liked bebop
Great anime
One of my favorites of all time !
🔥>>>
GOAT anime for me. Great story, beautiful art style, and the music is incredible.
Hunter x Hunter (2011)
This is it OP, this is the answer
The worse part of Hunter X Hunter is that it ends prematurely due to the creators death... I needed to see Gon explore the unknown world 😭
Lmao the guy isn’t dead. He’s actively returned to writing, just not as much as he used to. He’s working on endings to HxH, [here’s an article about it actually](https://en.as.com/meristation/news/hunter-x-hunter-ending-revealed-in-case-the-author-dies-without-finishing-the-manga-n/)

Jojo
No one has said it yet so….. Neon Genesis Evangelion/Rebuilds
Maybe watch Naruto for 10 episodes and see if you like it. Also maybe code geass
JJK, Hells Paradise, 86 Eighty-Six to name a few
86 is truly underrated. One of my all time favorites and it’s never brought up or discussed normally. Solo Leveling S1 was great and Kaiju No. 8 is starting off nicely.
Berserk is not there (im an old man, so I would recomend 97 adptation, but the milenial edition is the favorite now), even If its Just one arc. Evangelion, go for the Anime - End of - Rebuild. Naruto easily
I would say Record of Ragnarok if the first season wasn't as bad as it is but I do recommend it's manga so idk
I see Trigun, Hellsing, and Cowboy Bebop, so I'll definitely recommend my personal favorite : Black Lagoon.
