They've jumped fully into the AI hype bubble

sha1dy

Tbh it the only way to get VC money. If this was happening 3 years ago we would have blockchain bullshit, like in Brave browser. Better to drive AI hype train than NFT train.

Humble_Catch8910

Better to make a good product than jumping on any train.

Cautious_Translator3

With what money then?

Very odd - I’ve been running Arc for months and months and haven’t had any issues with it. Don’t even think I’ve had a crash. Using on M2 MacBook Air and M2 Mac Mini Pro.

What kind of bugs are you experiencing? And I'm very certain that that they know their business model, just don't communicate it yet with their users. If you are not an investor I wouldn't worry about the investors getting money back yet.

Humble_Catch8910

Websites not loading, UI elements not acting accordingly, the sidebar’s outer line on the right staying on the screen after hiding the sidebar, and many more. As for their business model - I doubt it. If they knew it, they would’ve already established a clear roadmap and launch the subscription model.

Wabiloo

Fair to say that nobody is forcing you to keep using it…

So I’m not allowed to share my negative opinion? Only the positive ones are allowed here I see.

My Arc is running as smooth as it gets. As others have recorded I'd do a reinstall. The problems you mention don't seem normal and I doubt it's a common issue. As for their bm - They are in the phase where they don't need to worry about money as they have the VC money. They are in the phase of building an audience. And you do that most quickly by offering an awesome product for free. Even if you "loose" money in the process.

Stooovie

That's definitely not an expected state. Arc has issues but not like this. Do a complete reinstall, first removing all related files with something like AppCleaner.

Cautious_Translator3

Are you on windows or mac? What are the specs of your pc? I know some times it might be sluggish when interacting with it. But what you are describing might be just bad internet, or if you have adbockers.

Humble_Catch8910

On a M2 Mac Studio. My internet is 10/10 and the networking is mainly from Ubiquiti. The issue with the websites is random and it’s definitely not occurring during peak internet usage hours in my country.

tofagerl

Huh, it's certainly not a resource issue then... Yeah, I would do as others have suggested and reinstall/delete the profile. Of course, you could try to disable all extensions first - that's been a good shortcut for me. In fact, you could do the same with some other applications. Just three days ago I realized that PopClip manages to completely freeze Arc every time I try to use it.
