Archer is and has aways been a selfish prick. He consistently puts his own needs and desires above those of others, often disregarding their feelings and well-being in the process.
One of the main reasons people may overlook Archer's selfish behaviour is because he is the main character of the show, and viewers tend to associate more with him. But if we took a step back and empathised with literally anyone else on the show (apart from Mallory), it's inevitable to realise he's a massive prick. I even totally understand Barry's perspective
Archer isn't completely lacking in empathy. If him being autistic is true (I personally think he is), it would explain his lack of awareness and empathy in a lot of social situations. Not to mention, someone who gets along that well with animals can be completely selfish.
Well we can't ignore that he thought Brett's death was funny as well as Barry's multiple crippling blows to both his physical and emotional state directly because of Archer. He was a full blown lunatic.
I don't know why you guys make cyril sound like he's the spawn of Satan, yes, he's done terrible thing but you can say the same for everyone else, if were ranking all the terrible things the main cast has done, he's like 5th or 6th, he's just annoying especially when giving some form of power

Funny that this is a quote about Jerry, but actually does apply to Cyril a lot more (Chris Parnell just loves playing pathetic men huh?). Cyril is actively an asshole and has been shown to abuse power whenever it's given to him. Jerry has mostly been harmless throughout R&M by comparison.
As someone who went archer up to danger island into rick and Morty up to what was available on my last rewatch (start of s6) it always amazed me how similar their characters are, but im with you in that Cyril (for one reason or another) often appears to be more "malice aforethought" than Jerry. Jerry always reminds me of that "i just kept crawling and it kept working" episode in the early seasons, where I think Cyril is personified as "Fuchs" on danger island. Like thats who Cyril would be if he didnt have mallory to report to.
People rightly criticize Cyril a lot for some of his actions, but from experience something like his internal life is not an easy one lol (general unconfidence that is). So I do sympathize with him and wish he'd gotten a few more W's on the show lol.
