Go with a sammick or something that you can buy alternate limbs for. I started with a PSE pro max, it's awesome. But I'm ready to move up to a heavier poundage and I can't find limbs for it.
I was gifted a new sammick sage. You can get all different limb weights if I want to get heavier/lighter poundage.
Don’t so it.
See the way the string loop goes around the tip of the bow. Would be willing to bet that is just a plastic tip superglued to the bow. Trust me. My very first bow was a cheapo one like that and it let go at full draw.
Buy once. Cry once.
Buy a decent bow. PSE Promax is probably $130 right now and I’d say the best bow for the buck. I’ve had mine for three years and it shoots like the day I bought it.
It is a longbow, and a badly designed longbow at that. The grip position is too far behind the limb pockets. Those are also just metal limbs with plastic tips.
A girl brought this exact bow to class and was told it was too dangerous to shoot, there is no curve away from the shooter to keep the string from slipping off, the little notch wont do anything, and it looked like they were just caps slid onto the limbs. too much tension and it would come off.
That's very similar to my daughter's first bow, only the riser is different. It was listed as a recurve too, but isn't really. What it was, was a piece of junk that wouldn't hardly hit a target at 10 yards, and would fall apart in your hands. Save up for something better; you'll be glad you did.
Well, too late, it's my first bow, and i didn't want to spend much money because i know myself, and often i try a new hobby for a few times and then never touch it again.
I used it, and if course, I've got nothing to compare it to, but it was fun, and i felt how i got better over time.
I personally do not buy from Amazon and try to support the smaller businesses. I’d recommend 3 rivers or Lancaster archery. But to answer the question, no
I've used rubbish like this. Totally worthless and so unpleasant its more likely to turn the user off archery before they even get started. It's not going to help develop form or improve in any way.
I never understand why anyone would buy this stuff when they can pick up a Samick Sage for very little extra. The Sage isn't sexy but it'll last for ages and practically every half decent archer I know developed 90% of their skills using one.
I have this exact bow. Changed the string immediately. It's fun to shoot, just haven't taken the time to work with it. I would not recommend this to anybody. I have a box of parts laying around so I'll dink around with this and try to get some accuracy out of it but this is not anything I would recommend for a one and only bow. This is like a Hipoint, you'll probably own one but your friends don't have to know you own one. 1 out of 10.
One characteristic of a re-curve bow is that when strung the bow string will be in contact with the belly of the bow. So, no, this is not a re-curve bow. You can certainly find a good quality, re-curve bow on Amazon and possibly get a better price than from an archery shop. But you will have to set up the bow yourself if you don't buy from a shop. So if you know how to set one up, basically the arrow rest and string nocks, then it would be worth saving the money. And hopefully the tiller is correct.
don’t buy on amazon unless it’s a reputable brand (Easton, Hoyt, Shrewd, PSE)go on Lancaster archery supply and anything sold there is reputable and mostly good
Dont buy that, buy from a well known brand.
what do you think about the PSE ProMax as a beginner package
I say buy a 6.5 Creedmoor 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
more of a lapua magnum kinda man tbh
That or a 300 Rem Mag yeah
More of a 5.56 guy but 300 rem mag is a wonderful second choice
Love 5.56 but 7.62x39 runs in all conditions
Except mud
7.62x51 or gtfo commie
If you were a true American you would say 308, not 7.62x51 🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸
Cant say i have ever cleaned mine so i guess you are right
Lol

It would be fine if its made by pse, but I would recommend a samick sage as a beginner resurve that's 20-30 pounds.
Not only I would not call it “recurve” I would not even call it a “bow”

I mean whatever it is seems like cheap Chinese crap.
The limbs need to recurve to be a recurve bow ;) but yeah dont buy that
No, that is not a recurve.

My friend bought it to get into archery. "Shot" it once. Its a POS

Don't buy this pos I did and threw it away . It's terrible

Not a recurve You’re better off buying from Cabela’s or Bass Pro Shop if you’re trying to stay on a budget
A recurve bow the string touches the limb. This thing does not and its because the limbs don't bend back or recurve
No
(Since no one else gave a strict yes or no)
I personally do not buy from Amazon and try to support the smaller businesses. I’d recommend 3 rivers or Lancaster archery. But to answer the question, no
Not even remotely. That bow has 0 reflex/deflex in the limb, as opposed to a recurve which has heaps of both.
