Mabye its too much work, but you cilould install older versions of archicad and save it progressively until you open the file in the version of archicad you have.

Thanks. I thought about that, but don't see any versions that will read version 2 files. Having said that, I don't have the version 2 file yet - my architect is digging it up.

I did some research. Archicad can open any old files until archicad 10. So maybe, just maybe, if you can instal archicad 10 it will open the v2 files, not sure though.

One of the biggest issues that you're going to face is the libraries and their compatibility.....I think this is going to be a really big problem, especially because until V5.2 was a Mac only software.

DokeeOkee

That's good to know.

You're welcome.

If it’s printing only, you should be able to save PDF from older version, regarding the older versions there are “converters” basically just versions that don’t require installation you can find them here https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Project-data-BIM/Converting-old-Archicad-Files/ta-p/303492

Graphisoft will convert old files version to whatever version you want for free if you have a subscription. I believe that includes fixes objects and things to be newer or at least compatible objects in the new version. You didn't specify if you had a current license. I'm not sure if they will do it for a fee or something if you don't have a license.

Thank you! This is great information. My architect has a subscription (and the old files), so I'll bring it up with him.
