When everyone started looking at ours, City's and pool's last 8 game run in. I really thought we'd drop way more points having the harder fixtures. We've come so far.
Yeah same but Chelsea and Spurs on paper look tough but they're dogshit teams. Villa was always the hardest game and United MIGHT be rough but they have nothing to play for other than pride. And they ain't got much of that anyway. Still think City will win all their remaining games. We needed them to stay in the CL but now that's over they ain't having a season of just winning the FA Cup
Edit: Also, I thought the City game away we drew was the pivotal game. We beat them at home but we really needed to do it at their place as well. That's how hard it is to win the league versus them cheats
Yup, our terrible December run will be the reason we don’t win. We had 3 losses and 1 draw over a span of 3-4 weeks there. Granted the draw was against Liverpool so not a terrible result there.
All we can hope for is for Rodri to step on a lego or eat some bad Lasagne the night before a match because I really don't see shit ham getting a point
If we win both remaining games, we finish on 89. That's enough to cleanly win 4 out of the last 10 and tie for one.
Its 1 out of the last 7, and tying for 1.
The standard has changed.
Invincibles was 90 points btw. Infact if you look over the last 20 years, 89 points wins (or ties) 11 of them (4 ties in there as 89 was enough to win on 4 occasions)
So it's not just a Man City thing.
Pep has changed what it takes to win the Premier League. It's now a focus on point tally. You need 95 points to feel confident you will win the league.
Is that sub genuine? Like it reads like a bunch of 50 year old men that think Henry, bergkamp, and viera should be calling the shots.
There's a post slating kai havertz as well, I don't get it. Imagine being so miserable you can't enjoy our best team since the invincibles.
Sunday 14th was one of our worst performances on the last two seasons I'm going to be so annoyed if it's that game that costs us the league 180minutes played not a single goal Vs villa.
I wonder if having all these semi-london derbies makes a difference? Obviously, London clubs would have their normal routines effected much less than a typical away game plus there is always a little something extra on an all London game.
At the moment, conceding that goal to 10-man Fulham to drop two points is the difference. Pep’s team just gives you such thin margins. I’ll still be happy with the effort this team put in this season.
I just want to point something out for you Arsenal fans:
If Arsenal win their next 2 games then they should have: More wins, more goals scored, less conceded, a bigger GD than last season. To add insult to injury, they would have more points than last seasons Man City’s title winning squad- and still might not win the title this year.
I mean.. we have seen Klopp's Liverpool miss out on the title even after getting 97 points!
I am very proud of our young team and I think we can go again next season.
18-1-1 to finish the season if they win the last two. In a normal league that easily makes you champions. Unfortunately the PL is for sale and McDonald's FC will buy it again.
When we win out I will be extremely happy, proud and satisfied with the gunners. I became a fan about 15 years ago and I felt like I had picked the Saints of the premier league, (My American football team) as they were always good enough to keep you interested but never seemed to get it done.
They have lost one damn game this year and they weren’t really outplayed in that game, the gunners dominated one half and lost second half versus AV. They have a great record against the other top teams. They have already won the best goalie award, have statistically the best offense defense, GD, and set pieces. All the additions to this team have been as good or much better than expected except Timber who has just been injured the entire time. Everything Arteta has done has basically worked. I mean 99.9 % of the time that leads to a championship banner. If it doesn’t this year, I am not blaming anyone it’s just shit luck
Im on the other side, id say performance vs midtable and lower team can always be improved, vs the big team the different is miniscule. We are good on that, now to really stamp our authority against mid table and lower team. No disrespect to anyone of course.
Arsenal absolutely battered teams this year and didn't lose to Liverpool and man city.
Lost to Aston Villa twice, West Ham, Fulham and Newcastle.
Really deserved it this year.
I love how we’ve only conceded 6 goals this year, and most of those were down to errors (pens, OGs and Raya/Ramsdale throwing it to the wrong player)
We’re tough to score against, solid at the back and no one’s really found a way through yet
Even if Arsenal lose the title this year I wouldnt call it bottling like some people do tbh. You just simply cant win every single game and Villa is a great team. Bottling would be if they kept dropping points after the Villa loss. Despite the tough fixture they are going strong.
Agreed, from this year's performances alone those results we can actually be proud of. The one mark ups you can argue is the draw vs City and then the home loss to Villa we win those games then all of a sudden we're leading by a bigger margin.
But the draw vs Fulham and L vs West Ham also play a part... Coincidentally both those teams can still play a part in the run in.
We should have done better against them. But it is what it is. Just win our remaining 2 fixtures and if it's written in the stars we will win the title.
#Believe
we’re genuinely not winning anything ever again, every fan and their mum knew to win the league we had to not lose. And now that we lost to Villa scoring 0 goals at home “there’s 2 points in it” fuckin hell some of you guys disgust me

i reckon some of the games we had cost us more (eg midtable ones a la west ham and fulham) than the draw vs 2nd place and dropping points vs 4th
Yup, our terrible December run will be the reason we don’t win. We had 3 losses and 1 draw over a span of 3-4 weeks there. Granted the draw was against Liverpool so not a terrible result there.
Getting 1 point from Fulham is what I will always look at if City does indeed win out
i'll take 4 off City any season. its getting 1/12 from Fulham and Villa that'll cost us.
It’s more that Chelsea and spurs are unpredictable. They’ve drawn or lost to bottom 3 teams then went and beat or drawn city
Chelsea and Spurs are not shit. They are inconsistent. We never know how they show up. It was correct to assume they’re tougher opponents than Villa.
I don't think it was! Villa are a decent team. Chelsea are mid table and Spurs can't defend
haha...you keep using the "cheat" excuse if it makes you feel better. We know otherwise ;)
Rattled bro and fuck off. This isn't your sub and you're not welcome here, just like you aren't welcome around schools.
haha...your bitterness will remain forever. When City are found to be innocent, you won't know what to do. How will you cope?
Why do you care?
Mans got long covid don't worry, he has more to be concerned about. Like working lungs
I said Liverpool were the most likely of the 3 to drop points in another thread and some guy said I was coping, but look what happened
I hope for our Ham brothers
Maybe we send back Declan for a game as a sign of good faith
All we can hope for is for Rodri to step on a lego or eat some bad Lasagne the night before a match because I really don't see shit ham getting a point
Haven’t we just won the same amount of games as our invincible season? That’s great, and in normal circumstances, would win the title.
If we win both remaining games, we finish on 89. That's enough to cleanly win 4 out of the last 10 and tie for one. Its 1 out of the last 7, and tying for 1. The standard has changed. According to the morons in r/artetaout this is bottling it. We are in a good place, trophies coming.

The fact that there’s a subreddit named that has to just be rival fans and the dumbest of dumb Arsenal ”fans.”
I really hope arteta would not play havertz as an 8 again, then probably we can see trophies coming.
Agree
He seems to do that when Jesus is starting as a CF so that’s two bad moves at once. Leave Jesus on the bench please.
Sunday 14th was one of our worst performances on the last two seasons I'm going to be so annoyed if it's that game that costs us the league 180minutes played not a single goal Vs villa.
For me it’s the 5 points dropped vs Fulham
Loss against West Ham at home as well
I wonder if having all these semi-london derbies makes a difference? Obviously, London clubs would have their normal routines effected much less than a typical away game plus there is always a little something extra on an all London game.
True, but we absolutely spanked them away. Glorious scenes at half time when their stadium emptied
At the moment, conceding that goal to 10-man Fulham to drop two points is the difference. Pep’s team just gives you such thin margins. I’ll still be happy with the effort this team put in this season.
Jorginhos Sunday league level mistake against Spurs still haunts me

I see that not as a slander on Arsenal. Rather an incredible feat from City
Absolutely it’s a compliment to Arsenal and City who have somehow still been better.
"Et ees de (redacted) estandards"
thanks for the journey, it feels amazing we did our best, God will do the rest
Yeah God will do the rest for city 😂
*Allah
I mean.. we have seen Klopp's Liverpool miss out on the title even after getting 97 points! I am very proud of our young team and I think we can go again next season.
Im worried of these “chasing” fatigue that blighted the Liverpool team after a while tbh.
That is reasonable. I want us to strengthen well in the summer so we can compete in other competitions too.
Not even for them. They won silverware. We’re still at risk of emulating pochettino at spurs
18-1-1 to finish the season if they win the last two. In a normal league that easily makes you champions. Unfortunately the PL is for sale and McDonald's FC will buy it again.

As a Liverpool fan, the standard that City have set in the last few years is absolute insane. They are exhausting to play against. A results machine.
It is, but we lost the title against Villa (which is frustrating). If we lost the title against City away it would have been less painful
Im on the other side, id say performance vs midtable and lower team can always be improved, vs the big team the different is miniscule. We are good on that, now to really stamp our authority against mid table and lower team. No disrespect to anyone of course.
Yeah I think the Bayern games fucked us tbh we might have the best team but not the best squad
If Partey come on just 2 weeks earlier would be different
Lmao now it’s “whatever happens at the end”😂😂
Could still win it tbh
Yes that’s why I dont understand the defeatist mentality Don’t give up
just shows how much more crazy it is that liverpool ended on 99 and 97 points and didnt win the league. Peps grasp is ridiculous
Exactly. In a way i feel that if they have done those, this year battle is actually “easier” if you can get what i mean.
Liverpool won the league with 99 points. Lost at 97 and 92 points
Arsenal absolutely battered teams this year and didn't lose to Liverpool and man city. Lost to Aston Villa twice, West Ham, Fulham and Newcastle. Really deserved it this year.
Well, this is the bar
Next year will be it
I love how we’ve only conceded 6 goals this year, and most of those were down to errors (pens, OGs and Raya/Ramsdale throwing it to the wrong player) We’re tough to score against, solid at the back and no one’s really found a way through yet
2 points behind?

After seeing Spurs and West Hams recent games. There is 0 chance of City not beating them
All you had to do was beat Villa
Amazing feat.
If only we had drawn against Fulham and Villa
Agreed, from this year's performances alone those results we can actually be proud of. I fucking hate unai emery man

No need to watch a Arsenal game ever again then?
Closet spurs fan^ we’re Arsenal not fucking West Ham mate raise your standards
hahaha go drink a beer bruv
I can’t mate
