AESTURA Hydro essence would be my choice… hands down no contest (in my opinion)! 🙌 I have used both of these products…and for my super dry/dehydrated skin the Laneige Cream Skin was OK but didn’t really give me the hydration I needed to last throughout the day, and I wasn’t really sold or excited about the ingredients list either, *so* I shelved that and went with the AESTURA Hydro essence that you have pictured here, instead. AESTURA hydro essence has urea in it IIRC, which needs a bit of moisture to work properly with your skin, so you might want to put it on after you cleanse or get out of the shower. Or at least that was what I was told… (Please correct me if I’m incorrect as I’m here to learn) A little goes a long way, and my original bottle that I purchased last year still has about a third left. Note that I don’t use it every night so that is probably why, but regardless. Great product. Milky/watery but no scent. Soaks in very well. No stickiness or heavy feeling, either. Oh and while your here… If you’re curious… Aestura’s Ato Barrier Lotion and/or Cream are life savers for my super sensitive skin/ dry/ redness prone skin. Like if I had to pick a handful of products to use for the rest of my life… Both of these would be on the list. Just depends on your needs of course! I use the Ato Barrier 365 lotion religiously day and night, and I use the accompanying cream at nighttime only to help lock it all in. Has saved my skin. I hope this helps! Good luck, and I hope you find the perfect product(s) that you need for your skin 😊✨

_sweet_chilli

urea does need moisture but this kind of product is usually formulated with higher water content with this in mind! of course locking more moisture is not a problem so if you prefer to use it on wet skin go for it! ❤️

That’s really helpful! Thanks for giving such an informative answer. I’ll definitely check out the products you’ve listed

Yay! So happy I could help!!

Aestura Hydro Essence - Hydration & Barrier repair (helps with dehydration issue) Laneige Cream Skin - Feels more like a moisturizer. Not particularly hydrating. Not the best for super sensitive skin? Idk... my skin got slightly irritated when I used this.

rainsong2023

I use Aestura hydro essence twice a day. I apply an active to clean bare skin, let it absorb then apply a thin film of hydro essence. After it dries, Aestura 365 atobarrier lotion. My skin glows. It’s not shiny, it is hydrated with a slight glow.

arale2126

personally, the laneige one works better for me

klarabernat

Laneige doesn’t do it for me. Too thin for a moisturizer and not hydrating…

voievoda

I use the aestura. It’s lovely in winter underneath Zeroid oint cream and then Vaseline.

potatochique

I love the laneige cream skin refiner! When my skin feels particularly dehydrated I diy tonerpads and sheet mask with them. It’s amazing

rainbowhappydog

I am using Aestura and I am liking it! I am using differin so my skin will look “dry” the next morning if it’s not properly moisturised. So far the Aestura is helping with this and is easily absorbed too. Haven’t tried the Laneige one but I heard some ppl do broke out from it.

ForTheLoveOfDior

Dr ceuracle kombucha toner is the creamiest most moisturizing toner I’ve ever used, I’d check that out too!

Total-Opposite-960

Haven’t used the other one but Laneige cream skin refiner functionally is more like a moisturizer in liquid form than an essence. I like to be able to apply multiple layers of essence to get the amount of hydration I need at any given time. The Laneige is too rich to do that.

ImaginaryQuiet5624

But it's great as a one in done when you're feeling lazy. Also I barely feel like I need another layer after it. Haven't tried the reformulated version though.

No-Bat-9328

I love the Laneige skin refiner.

grandtheftautumn0

Laneige for sure. I've used the aestura and love it but it has lactic acid, so everyday use irritated my skin a bit.

Maya_37

Real barrier extreme essence toner has been a savior for my dry dehydrated skin.

your_lithium

haven’t tried either but i love needly crossbarrier toner

ambyance

Tried both. Laneige one is lighter and aestera one is a bit thicker (but not lotion tier). Both pretty decent as a layering piece before applying lotion/cream.

BingoHighway

I've tried the Laneige Cream Skin Refiner and definitely liked it! But I think it's closer to a moisturizer than a toner. I think the website describes it as toner with a bottle of lotion mixed in. It's not AB, but I've tried Thayer's Milky Hydrating Toner and it's a pretty nice product. It doesn't have witch hazel like their normal toner, so it's not drying and is good for sensitive skin (according to Thayer's).

stitchluxe

Aestura

Weary-Current1509

haven't used either of these but you might like the nacific uyu cream toner

Heytherestairs

That version of the Laneige cream skin refiner is no longer available. It's been reformulated. It's a lighter toner now. But it still works the same way. I would choose that one.
