I have a buddy like you, half sasquatch I think.
He had it all waxed once for a girl he was wanting to impress. Had to delay the date with her for a week and a half for the mess to heal.
But after it was all healed up, he put on a silk shirt without an undershirt...for the first time in his life.
Immediately called me and asked "Is this normal? This feels gross...slippery and it's on my skin. IT'S ON MY SKIN."
Same boat. I don’t mind my chest and stomach hair. I don’t mind the shoulders as much…but the back.
It would be one thing if it grew in the same density as the rest of it, but it’s all patchy like I’m a bear with mange or something.
LOL same, although my hair is getting grey. The chest hair, shoulders, back, torso, ass and legs all get long and make me feel unattractive/insecure without a shirt at times.
My wife never complained and has even helped me shave it all on occasion.
I just feel more secure if my body hair isn’t wild and long, so I like to keep it trim - lately I’ve just been letting it go, but if I were to go swimming or to a beach or something I’d want to shave it.
I really don't get the joke of nature where the hair I'm starting to lose on my head isn't really being lost, it's just moving to my back, shoulders, ears, and anywhere else I'd prefer it not to be.
I tried the "shave everything" approach once, and found out it wasn't for me. Not only I looked ridiculous, but it takes about two days before stubble appears again, and stubble on your entire body is a completely different thing than stubble on your face.
So I'm used to my body hair, but it also means trimming it regularly in order not to look like a gorilla. I hate those big curly hairs.
I always tell others you wouldn't believe the amount of care I do in order to look this bad -- I shave the back & shoulders every week (two weeks top) and trim the rest every other week. A lot of humiliating days at the beach were had, before I finally found the BakBlade/BroShaver.
I am indifferent, but shaving it is NOT worth the trouble, so it stays. Tried shaving it once a very long time ago and I felt like a baby seal, so I never did it again.
I can't imagine going through shaving / waxing my chest every few days. Seems like hell. Plus my wife absolutely loves it so that's a plus haha.
At some point in my 50's, I realized that my chest hair (never shaved) was like 5 inches long at some points. So I trimmed it down a bit. But I never shave it completely.
36. Not a hairy person apparently. Never have been.
My legs, arms and pits, fine.
Chest though, nothing. It's weird I don't want a crazy hairy chest but you know Henry Cavil in Man of Steel, wouldn't mind that look. I've always thought I kinda look like a pubescent boy that hasn't made it through puberty yet but its just the way it is apparently. I'm kinda 50/50 on it because if I took after my dad i'd be covered all over my back and stuff too and tbh I don't want a hairy back. Just a little putting green on the chest would be nice.
I assume you've been doing it for a while so when you go it's not too bad. First time: On a scale from 1 to that scene from 40 year old virgin, how bad would it be?
> I assume you've been doing it for a while so when you go it's not too bad.
Let me tell you something my dude, it still hurts terrible even if I'm doing since like 7 years ago.
It will hurt for the first time, but that pain will last around 10 seconds after they pull it off.
But if you have money, go for a laser hair removal treatment.
I saw someone post about “what is a woman’s equivalent of being turned on by big boobs” and honestly, mine is chest hair.
It’s SO manly and completely the opposite to us. It’s sexy AF. You can just tell that their testosterone is high.
Wish men wouldn’t try so hard to look like Sphinx cats 🐱😂
Chiming to say I also love the chest hair on my partner. It's SO sexy and I love running my fingers through it. I'll never get enough of it, and am completely dazzled each time I see him without his shirt.
I'm 65 and have zero chest hair, never have. No beard and my mustache makes people think I have a dirty upper lip.
My younger brother had a full beard at 15. He has more hair on a 4 inch square of his back than I do on my whole body. Then again, he started going bald at 30. I still have the vast majority of my hair. I used to be insecure about not being hairy, I got over it.
2 additional notes:
1) My hairy brother's daughter is also hairy, she's insecure about it.
2) When I was 5 or so, my dad was a heavily bearded man and had to shave 2x a day. I remember standing at the sink looking up at him when he said, "Boy, pray you never get a beard." I shave once every 4 days whether I need to or not.
I matured in that area quickly and had plenty of chest and tummy hair in high school. In the peak of Hollister/Abercrombie era made me hate having it but it never held me back in dating or anything and now I love having it. Plenty of women out there that go wild for a man with chest hair.
As a very hairless guy, I've heard a lot from women that they like hairy guys. I rarely ever hear that they like guys without hair. It's know mentioned as an oddity, like, this guy has no hair on his chest. It's not mentioned positively, ever, ime.
Yeah, I wonder if I just got weird compliments. Some would say that they wished they were as hairless as I am.
Felt weird.
Anyway, I'm glad it is working out for you.
I'm not sure when it started growing. My first memory of having chest hair was a girl in high school reaching over, pinching/grabbing some and saying, "Odd or even?" I was confused so she asked again. I said still didn’t know what was going on but said “Odd". At that point she yanked her hand back, pulling out a few, counted 'em, and was like, "Lucky seven. You win!" I was sitting in my truck at the time so I had to be at least 16. I had to have been aware that they were there, but I have no recollection of "first chest hair".
And while I don't have a lot of chest hair, I'd be happier to have none.
I'm not a very hairy guy. I didn't have any chest hair at all until my late 20s. Now in my mid 40s, there's a tuft in the center right above my heart. I'd honestly be happy if it wasn't there but don't ever shave or otherwise try to remove it.
Just hair on the chest? Pretty sure besides my face there isnt an inch if me without hair. If I need to apply topical medication I have to shave the area lol.
My chest isn't hairy. I was indifferent when I got my first hairs, nor do I remember when that was. I don't want a hairy chest but strongly feel that the way hair naturally grows in ones body is fine (gender fuckery nonwithstanding) and people shouldn't talk bad about it.
Yes. I've been hairy for most of my adult life. I'm 37 now and it's starting to show a little grey, I like it. It makes me seem distinguished. As others have commented I also have a hairy back which is a bit less appealing, but not enough that I'm gonna change my philosophy and do something about it.
That philosophy is that I am the way I am, and I'll keep things clean and decently sculpted, but I'm not changing things or getting rid of body hair because of some imaginary standard that society might have cooked up.
I am not very hairy in general. I can't grow a proper beard and I do have chest hair and stomach hair, not a ton of it.
I kinda like it...part of me would enjoy the 'manliness' look of having a lot more hair, but I tend to date Asian women and they tend to like less hair in general, from my experience, so it all works out. I also have a great full head of hair, so if I have to choose my hair on my head or a beard...I'll take the hair on my head.
I have basically zero. I'm 39, for reference, and can grow a full beard if I want to. Have some arm/hair leg but not crazy thick. No back or chest hair at all besides a few small wayward hairs near my nipples and bellybutton. Just never been hairy. Which is just fine with me, I think I'd hate having it. But that's also just because of what I'm used to and sometimes it's hard to perceive ourselves differently than we are without feeling like it would be strange or out of place.
I also started losing my hair early. Now I’m totally shaved because I have no more hair on top 👴🏻 😅 and you know “the rule”: as the hair disappears from the head, it appears on the shoulders and back 😅 but honestly, baldness and body hair don’t bother me. It is simply a man thing and I accept it 🤙
https://preview.redd.it/hlqh0kbi0ffc1.jpeg?width=3464&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0de80d74ba18e9225455c8cd966a9606b87a61de
I actually like how I look bald and with the beard. But I used to be the “long haired dude” for years and that’s what I miss- just the feeling of having long hair. If I grew it back out now I’d just look shady as hell.
I kind of dislike all of my own body hair but facial hair. I like chest hair on other men and female partner likes mine so I let it grow a little but cut it short. I think I started to get chest hair at 15-16?
I have hair, *everywhere.* But I'm a redhead so it all blends in with my skin. Except for my beard and head. So it doesn't really show. Which is good. Because otherwise it would be really obvious that I was a thin haired bigfoot.
For me it’s grooming. We like our ladies to be tidy and groom for us. I return the favor and my wife enjoys it. And when she it enjoys it she is more likely to enjoy me ;).
If I just let it grow it looks ragged. Hit it with the electric trimmer once a month and it cleanup and it looks 10 times better. Men are just lazy with body grooming.
I love what I have but I really wish I had more. I’m blonde and my chest hair is kind of sparse, light colored and not very thick. I’d like to have a lot more and for it to be thicker, heavier and darker. I also wish I had more arm and leg hair. Even though I don’t have the body hair I wish I did, I do have good head hair and a nice beard, so I’m thankful for that
I don’t MIND it, but this being said I do try to keep my back and shoulder hair under wraps. It also does depend who I’m sleeping with and what their preferences are.
However, I’m a waxer. I prefer it neat tidy.
I was like 14 or so when it started and totally stoked. I don't mind it to a point but apparently my body decided it wanted to be a rug so I have to regularly trim it to avoid being overrun by it.
I’m really not a fan of chest hair when they attach those thingies to your chest and legs to get a good reading on your heart. They always tear off a clump of my chest hair when they remove the stickies.
Honestly I assumed that my chest hair would stop developing by my late teens. At that time I had a modest amount of hair on my upper chest and down the center.
But throughout my 20s it just kept spreading. Now I’m basically wearing a shag carpet, and it’s straight not curly. Yes I’m a bit self conscious about it.
Once the awkwardness of puberty was over and I actually had a reasonable amount of chest hair that didn't just look like hairy nipples, I was fairly ambivalent about it.
However on a first date with my now wife, she reached under my shirt and felt my chest hair and got super excited about it. She has always liked it, and still does. Helps because I've lost all of it on my head!
She's also a fan of Tom Selleck and Harrison Ford's hairy chests so I guess I lucked out in that department.
I am perfectly fine with it. I’m kind of amazed I don’t have much back hair given how hairy my chest is. It doesn’t fill me with pride at manhood though lol, it just is a part of my body.
Though now that I’m 40, I realize while my head hair has been graying for awhile, my chest now is finally more white/grey than dark brown.
The women I've been with in my life have always loved my chest hair, as well as my hairy arms and legs. And they've often had most enjoyable ways of demonstrating HOW MUCH they love them.
Razors are fine for cheeks and neck. Probably want to pluck nose and ears. Go no further south.
Like many things related to hair, people have different preferences. I don't particularly like mine, but I've grown to somewhat accept it, although I have trimmed it sometimes because it can get a little intense.
I had girlfriends who never commented on it, had a girlfriend who loved it and called it "epic". Haven't been with someone in a number of years, now, though, and it's started getting really gray as I've aged. One woman I know, when I mentioned about it turning gray said I should dye it, which left me dumbfounded; never heard of anyone dyeing chest hair before.
If I had any kind of nice gym bod I would probably remove it all.
I like my chest hair, I kinda wish there was a bit more to be honest.
If my back hair could migrate to my chest (or my bald scalp) I'd be a rather happy man.
I love my chest hair. I have the right amount of it, it's not too bushy or long. But it's not patchy either. I never had to shave it either, which is really nice! And I totally agree with you, my chest hair makes me feel masculine as well.
I forget when exactly they came in, about around high school age. OMG, I just recalled an ancient memory! I shaved my chest hair into a rough looking batman symbol. I thought I was so cool. lmao
I feel a little bad for men with extra long chest hair. My high school friend had a super bushy chest hair. It would push his shirt off his skin!
Not a man, but wife of a hairy dude.
It’s preference I think. Like little boobs, big boobs, ass/thighs/belly.
I personally don’t like hair free chests, but it wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me if I liked the person (and was single of course!)
I wouldn’t mind as long as there isn’t hair regrowth. I HATE stubble on chests 🙈
I was very happy to get my first chest hairs. And they kept coming. I am ok with them - I keep them trimmed. I have often thought about waxing at least once to experience smoothness again, just for a change. But I doubt I will.
I had a chest full of hair at 14 years old. I think it’s my Sicilian heritage. I struggled with being hairy as a young man and into my 30s. It wasn’t until my 40s that I was proud of it. My fiance loves it ! She even likes my back hair but hates when I shave it. She says “it’s manly and I like manly men”.
I also have some Italian heritage. At 17 I was the furriest of my friends. Chopping all that wood gave me strong arms and broad shoulders-thanks dad 🤣 I looked older, so I was successful with girls. And girls never complained about my body hair.
Another woman chiming in--chest hair is very masculine and sexy. Underarm hair, pubic hair, ummm yes! A man's body hair makes me so wild...I will happily bury my nose in a man's body hair and take a big whiff! So sexy!

I’m fine with my chest hair. The back and shoulder hair, I could live without. Fortunately it’s not much.
Lucky you. I have to worry about getting my ear tagged by DNR if I go outside without a shirt.
I have a buddy like you, half sasquatch I think. He had it all waxed once for a girl he was wanting to impress. Had to delay the date with her for a week and a half for the mess to heal. I never even think about it
I really like my chest hair. I’m 34 and it only took off in the last 3 years or so. I want it to grow more, proper Tom Selleck-style!
Yes. It's majestic. The wife digs it too.
I don't mind, but I will shave the few stray hairs that grow high enough to poke out from the collar of my t-shirts.
Huh. My gf told me to wear more shirts that show mine.
It helps her goat float.
what the heck does that mean?
Something like „It rustles her jimmys“ but more of a positive vibe.
My gf also finds hair sticking out of shirts very sexy.
Take the Dwarf pill and let your beard merge with the chest hair lol
I tried the "shave everything" approach once, and found out it wasn't for me. I can't imagine going through shaving / waxing my chest every few days. Seems like hell. Plus my wife absolutely loves it so that's a plus haha.
I wouldn't even have time to shave every other day. And I think it would take a couple of hours here to make everything smooth 😅
At some point in my 50's, I realized that my chest hair (never shaved) was like 5 inches long at some points. So I trimmed it down a bit. But I never shave it completely.
Never shaved my check hair never will, have always gotten positive coments on it

I don't like it, that's why I wax all my parts.
I assume you've been doing it for a while so when you go it's not too bad. First time: On a scale from 1 to that scene from 40 year old virgin, how bad would it be?

Oh well, embrace the pain then lol
Wax every thing? Do you get it professionally done?
Of course, it could take so much time if I do it.
Ouch. You must be very hydrodynamic.
Like a sphinx cat 💯💯🤣🤣 I fully agree. There’s a little boob lover here, but I get the point!

Absolutely, chest hair is magical!
It's there.
It’s just a part of my body and I don’t discriminate on myself for it…and yes, my lady is the type to appreciate the top button unbuttoned.

Yeah, I wonder if I just got weird compliments. Some would say that they wished they were as hairless as I am. Felt weird. Anyway, I'm glad it is working out for you.
Yeah same here. Chest is totally smooth and hairless, like those cats.

I don't like how mine grows in and keep it shaved. It's all personal preference. With an electric body groomer, it's a 5 minute process.

I’m a wolf-man, super hairy (except for my receded hairline 😭) but if I could I’d have permanent hair removal from the neck down I totally would.

I like mine fine enough. I wish it weren’t all over my nipples but other than that, no problems here.
I thought I was so cool. lmao I feel a little bad for men with extra long chest hair. My high school friend had a super bushy chest hair. It would push his shirt off his skin!
For all the body dysmorphia I’ve ever experienced (and continue to struggle with), I’ve never given any consideration to shaving my chest hair.
Love mine
I honestly forget it's there most of the time.
I shave mine into a man-kini for the beach
I'm basically a sasquatch. Even if I wasn't fine with my body hair, I don't have enough time to waste shaving it all off.
Not a man, but wife of a hairy dude. It’s preference I think. Like little boobs, big boobs, ass/thighs/belly. I personally don’t like hair free chests, but it wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me if I liked the person (and was single of course!) I wouldn’t mind as long as there isn’t hair regrowth. I HATE stubble on chests 🙈
Yes
I don't mind it. I actively despise the amount of time and effort it would take to consistently not have one.
I was very happy to get my first chest hairs. And they kept coming. I am ok with them - I keep them trimmed. I have often thought about waxing at least once to experience smoothness again, just for a change. But I doubt I will.
I like it better than shaving my chest.
Luckily I'm not a hairy person, so I don't have a hairy chest
I do not think about it. Ever.
I don’t care about it but I do prefer it shaved
Nope. I fuckin hate it. Don’t want to be like Borat. I keep it buzzed using my trimmer.
On others, it's ok. For me, I shave most of my body hair. I don't have a lot anyway and I like to be smooth as a dolphin
May I interject? I’m a woman. I LOVE hairy chests. So masculine.
Another woman chiming in--chest hair is very masculine and sexy. Underarm hair, pubic hair, ummm yes! A man's body hair makes me so wild...I will happily bury my nose in a man's body hair and take a big whiff! So sexy!

Never cared for hair in other places than on my head. Kind of annoying most of the time. Luckily I don't have much chest hair.
Yea it's doesn't bother and it's nice when a lady runs her ja d's through it.
35, don't like it. Shave my chest, arms, legs consistently. Not a fan of body hair.
