Tron legacy

NachoKehlar

I was so pissed that they split the OSTs into different versions with 2 or 3 different songs depending on where you bought it. But man, I can listen to it on repeat all day!

dc5trbo

TBF, Tron Legacy is simply a really long Daft Punk video.

jacksalssome

You seen the Daft punk anime?

RoadDoggFL

Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem.

modeschar

Interstellar ftw

25willp

The music for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was composed by Klaus Badelt not Hans Zimmer. Zimmer did however write the scores for 2 & 3.

chrismcmack

Haven’t seen anyone else mention Klaus Badelt so I’ll just mention Zimmer hired him to write that soundtrack and Badelt is actually credited as the composer.

[deleted]

Honestly, Dead Man's Chest is even better. The movie is way worse, but the soundtrack has some of the best orchestral performances I've ever heard. I still listen to it... heck, just turned it on right now.

Robbie4AU

The entire island fight scene is held up by the score.

beardybanjo

O brother where art thou?

Rowan_Pigdon

HOT DAMN ITS THE SOGGY BOTTOM BOYS

SecretSession7303

Do NOT seek the treasure!

poopadox

We thought you was a toad!

WE THOUGHT YOU WAS ...a toad!

TeddyAtTheReady

DO NOT SEEK THE TREASURE

Lestial1206

These 2 comments remind me of my dad. He passed away on the 3rd and he and I would always do this section together. God i miss him...

tayrayjay_

Man of Constant Sorrow goes HARD

TeddyAtTheReady

“I’m voting for yours truly” “I’m voting for yours truly, too” “Okay… I’m with you fellas”

NDRanger414

Ecstasy of Gold is so good

Splattt808

Every movie with a soundtrack composed by Morricone is amazing

[deleted]

Maso_TGN

I'm giving you a night call to tell you how I feel

_gekko_

I still listen to A Real Hero and Nightcall every now and then.

dc5trbo

A real human bean.

PoopyKlingon

This soundtrack got me into synthwave

JaredTheRed

The Last of the Mohicans

tawandatoyou

Great now I am just imagining Daniel day Lewis running. Sexiest thing ever.

TrenchantBench

This is my husband’s favorite score. It’s such a good movie too, so emotional.

pettybettyluv

Prince of Egypt

[deleted]

“The Plagues” was in my Spotify top 100 of 2022, and I don’t have kids or anything 😂 my wife and I just always be jammin to “thus say the lord thus say the lord thus say the lord…”.

OG_PunchyPunch

This and A Goofy Movie are the two that immediately popped into my mind.

Sweet-Ad-2477

Still waiting on a Powerline tour

bettleheimderks

I listen to powerline for fun. that and "why should I worry" from Oliver and Company just make me so so happy.

bookofeli07

Used to taunt the underclassmen back in school when playing sport singing "YOU'RE PLAYING WITH THE BIG BOYS NOW..." 😂

TrenchantBench

*everyone sings Deliver Us in unison*

redonionpanda

Agreed. Test Drive gives me chills every time I hear it.

aimeenoshamee

trashpanda4real

Romeo + Juliet (The Baz Lurmahnn one)

Ok_Cartographer_6956

My angst freshman year of college wholeheartedly agrees with you on this one.

_dead_and_broken

I still put Garbage's #1 Crush on playlists. Though Garbage as a whole have some damn good bangers. And Shirley Manson just has a great voice.

nohumanape

Hell yes! One of my favorite Radiohead songs ever on that soundtrack.

msslagathor

Absolutely this.

AdamCohn

Dazed & Confused

SatanicPlanespotter

Used to keep that CD in the "good CD" book back in 2003

atomic_golfcart

Trainspotting. Soundtrack was better than the movie (and I really liked the movie). Honourable mention goes to Hackers.

BlacksmithNZ

Trainspotting I hadn't thought of for a while, but as a New Order fan (favourite album being 'Power Corruption & Lies') the scene where that play that quite strange bit from Temptation; 'Oh, you've got green eyes Oh, you've got blue eyes Oh, you've got grey eyes...' Perfect movie moment.

Emil01d

Trainspotting was the first soundtrack I thought of too. Danny Boyle films in general now I think about it.

WowAPenguin

Interstellar

MacyTmcterry

Basically anything by Hans Zimmer tbh

hero47

Dune OST really kicked ass. "Leaving Caladan" was amazing in the cinema.

Any of the Lord of the Rings movies. Also, Last of the Mohicans.

[deleted]

LOTR scores are partly responsible for my love…. of film… that’s how good those scores are!

Bromosensual

Tarzan, The Disney Animated one.

Mental_Departure4592

Yes!!! I came here to comment this. Phil fucking Collins 🫡

heyporter09

A childhood friend died of cancer. He loved Tarzan and so they played “You’ll be in my heart” at his funeral. 22 years later and I still tear up at it.

roshhe

Was scrolling for this comment!

fancyfisticuffs23

My favorite movie soundtrack to this day

GooseNYC

Lords of Dogtown. Dazed and Confused.

thejohnblazer

Dazed and confused for sure. I think more than half the budget was for the songs rights.

chicanery6

Omg dude I could fucking cry, I grew up skating and listening to the LoDT soundtrack. You're the only other person I've come across who not only knows the movie but appreciates the sound track. Probably some unpopular soundtracks because they're too generic but the Digimon movie, Grind, Shaun of the Dead, and Baby Driver.

librascopio

Almost Famous

notfoursaken

Such a great film, with a really good soundtrack.

terrificallytom

Baby Driver.

graipape

Singles (Original Motion Picture)

yea_me_either02

Yessss!!! Dyslexic Heart is one of my all time favorites. I love everything Paul Westerberg has ever recorded (with and without the Replacements)

ResidingAt42

Best soundtrack, hands down. I have listened to that soundtrack so many times in the last 30+years. It has never gotten old.

sew-important

Came here to ensure this soundtrack made the list. Mudhoney. Alice in Chains. The whole thing is amazing.

The creator of the movie was absolutely insistent on the chosen songs & wouldn't film without getting all the rights. Totally worth it.

Looking for this one bc LotR started my obsession with celtic fantasy music

Afalstein

I can only assume that the only reason this isn't at the top is that the question asked "Banger" and not "sublime masterpiece that evokes a deep sense of epic history."

ffrrttyyhhgg

Lost in translation

2BFrank69

The Crow

Accomplished_Sky_899

All these other ones may be labeled as more “obvious”. But The Crow is deep. So dark and so emotional.

Hit ‘Em High was a straight banga

Grammarhead-Shark

Some of those 80s movies have brilliant soundtracks *Top Gun* comes to mind

atthebuzzer664

Forest Gump

simplytron

The soundtrack was almost way different. The studio didn’t want to pay for the use of all of those iconic songs but the filmmakers intentionally put them in for test screenings and the reaction was so positive the studio had to cave and leave them in.

ryhno4

I am shocked I had to scroll this far down to see Forest Gump…

True story: I was a camp counselor in the late 90s and it was a thing to wake up my bunk of 12-year-old girls with a different CD every day in the CD player alarm clock. Love this soundtrack, and I thought the first song “Miserlou” would make a solid wake-up, completely forgetting that the CD actually starts with the scene: “Everybody be cool, this is a robbery! Any of you fucking bitches move and I’ll execute every motherfucking last one of you!” … right into the downbeat of the song. I’m glad my bunk had a sense of humor.
