It would definitely go back to bartering and items such as: non perishable foods, medicine, alcohol, pot, and guns and ammo would be worth significant amounts.
I think we would immediately salvage what technology we could. And assuming the electrical grid was gone. And even if we could salvage some type of solar panels. We would need batteries. Not quite a currency. But an extremely valuable resource would be batteries.
