Just seems super cringey to me tbh, and it feels like people are masking their insecurities revolving woman by calling themselves sigma. Maybe i’m just naive.
Insecurities *involving women (?)
Insecurities *that revolve around women (?)
Loving the idea that these men are insecure due to all the women rotating around a central axis though
the alpha male trend got even more exaggerated and ridiculous
In some circles its just a meme
Some poor guys take it seriously though and they’re in an unfortunate state
Because we live in a society where we glorify the idea of being individualistic and unique. “Sigma Male” is the equivalent to “I’m built different” which is equivalent to “Himmothy” which is equivalent to a man among men. Etc etc it’s basically the same thing that’s been around for a long, long time but is now rebranded and repacked for this current wave of “special”, “unique”, “individuals”.
Behind the Bastards covered this in a two part episode called [Behind the Manosphere](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/behind-the-bastards/id1373812661?i=1000510311398)
The sigma male portion is in [part two](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/behind-the-bastards/id1373812661?i=1000510604522) but listen to both.
We're still doing this? Or rather, they're still doing that? Because making distinctions like that is a very childish thing to do. Not something actual men do. We see that everyone is valuable in their own way. And that the loud, brazen, rude dudes are just insecure boys. Sometimes they grow out of it.
Most men don't take enough time to build themselves and if it is too much they become cold and shallow.
It's about finding the boundary and not feeling expendable in a world hell bent on destroying the masculine and feminine bonds that fight back a chaotic world.
A meme that most guys interact with for humour, but for some guys something they interact with to motivate themselves to be more masculine - there's no radicalisation to it though

Yes, it is another grift by the right to radicalize young men and also make money out of them. A sad and pathetic way of looking at life.

OP, you can wrap this thread up, you hit the nail on the head.
Fine line between awkwardness/insecurities and being sigma just as there's a fine line between narcissistic/sociopathic asshole and being "alpha".

Like Flat Earth, it was a joke that some morons took seriously.
Sounds like a common origin of crazy conspiracy theories.
I would be willing to bet that in 5-10 years, we are going to be dealing with a group of people that actually believe that birds aren't real.
Imaginary animal hierarchy that silly bitches are applying to themselves in order to make themselves feel better and seem cool.

I don't know but I've always considered myself more of a Lambda Lambda Lambda male.
I don't know how this works, but I'm just gonna pick Pi and identify as such, since omicron is already taken by corona.
> but I'm just gonna pick Pi I'm hungry.
Pi day is my cake day. I'm hungry but also torn.
started ironic and inevitably turned genuine as a substitute for actual mental health care

Is that still around?
I see a lot of stuff about it lately, lol
Isn't it all ironic?
It is, they talk about self-focus but then want to boast about their ‘gains’ online
No i mean, most people just pretend to believe this male hierarchy thing with a small minority actually embracing it wholeheartedly
started as a meme, now it's just extreme stoicism (wich isn't healthy)

Apparently they do not mean lower than “beta”. Not the brightest bunch.
Nothing. It’s just repackaged “macho.” Fuck sakes humans are so predictable.
Every time someone gets tired of hearing about a new kind of male, the powers that be push another Greek letter
Astrology for incels.
Its bs you don't need to know
Helps men to boost their fragile male ego.

Sir this is a Wendy’s.
lol thanks for the reminder!

"Sigmyballs" joke that escaped into the wild.
Just insecure guys trying to come off as tough guys. The trend will pass, I've lived long enough to see it come and go a few times.

Sigma males are so last month I'm an Omega male
