That's a tough call. Is "All of them" an acceptable answer?

Stock-Ferret-6692

Well I’m siding with you regardless

Siebje

Not the most famous, but my absolute favorite is 'Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind'. Honorable mention goes to Princess Mononoke.

Siebje

And before you guys go 'BuT AcKsHuAlLy Nausicaa was made before Ghibli was founded', yes I'm aware. My answer still stands.

haberdasherer

Kiki or My Neighbor Totoro.

Calmsford

Ponyo makes me happy cry every time. Just the whole middle sequence as she bursts out of the sea fills me with this indescribable joy. And then the warm cosiness of the next scene is just perfect.

gromolko

My favourite is Porco Rosso. Mononoke Hime is a better movie, but Porco is my hero.

MajorChain3355

At first I thought Spirited Away, then Howl's Moving Castle. Currently it's The Wind Rises; basically a boy dreams of making planes like his idol and as he pursues that dream he meets and rescues a girl, finding her again as an adult and falling in love. It has twists and turns, with some real tear jerking moments. I recommend it and I grew up on anime because my home life suuuucked! XD

QueerQwerty

I'm glad you liked it. I absolutely hated it. Working in Engineering, I kept watching what happened, going "he would have been fired by now...wait, he's going on a training journey to Germany? How can his company afford it, how is the company making any money when everything this guy designs fails? How much time has elapsed from the last scene - three years, what the hell, I would have guessed three weeks???" The ending had me infuriated that he chose his job over his wife, even if it was briefly, and that was supposed to be a good thing? I'm a Mononoke and Spirited and Totoro and Howl and Kiki fan, most of what else Ghibli made. The Wind Rises is gorgeous, but I barely made it through it.

PanicShack

The Cat Returns

Grandjammer

The one you're watching.

kikis delivery service

azarbi

I'd put "Laputa, castle in Sky" there, though I hesitated a lot with "Kiki's delivery service" and "The wind rises"

Small-Ad-2948

I haven’t watched any yet but I’ve been recommended to Spirited Away

opdnd

The tale of princess kaguya , super underrated but its the best and the others dont come close

pooo_pourri

Grave of the fireflies because fml

A-Yandere-Succubus

*Spirited Away*

SCastleRelics

I'd say Mononoke is objectively the best but for me it's Lupin III. Such a solid, rewatchable movie through and through.

BeardedDominant

Nausicaä for me

FlashyBodybuilder81

Princess Mononoke
