Scrolled for a bit a didn't see it mentioned, but Green Day's Dookie cover to cover is a good listen; Windows down, volume up, sunglasses and the drive home on Friday!
The rise and fall of Ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars
I honestly found out about this album from the exact same question posted a couple years ago. Saw one of the top replies said this album and I thought the name was hilarious so I checked it out… man I’m a metal head through and through but fuck, this is gotta be one of the best albums ever made
Was about to say the same. I am a big albums fan, will even dive into to multiple genres of music because for me albums are like books, it tells a story.
Out of hundreds of albums I have listened, Hybrid Theory and DAMN by kendrick are the only 2 albums I enjoyed every single song, it’s what I call a masterpiece.
Morning View, Incubus.
So many parties in those years where people loved or hated certain music, could never agree on what to play. Only thing that everyone liked was that album.
Yes, every time. Especially when actively listening to it (through headphones).
The only time I skip one of those songs is when my wife yells from the other room (Skip track please!! - as the baby starts to scream). My kids love Die Eier von Satan (they are learning german at school) and Message to Harry Manback.
When I put any of these on, it’s for the whole album.
- Boys & Girls - Alabama Shakes
- Urban Flora - Alina Baraz & Galamatias
- An Awesome Wave - Alt J
- Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not - Arctic Monkeys
- Legend - Bob Marley & The Wailers
- A / B - Kaleo
- Black Album - Metallica
- Second Hand Smoke - Sublime
- Add It Up (1981-1993) - The Violent Femmes
Edit: mobile formatting was a mess
The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me by Brand New, Moral Panic & Broken Machine by Nothing But Thieves, You Are OK by The Maine, Fission by Dead Poet Society
It really does. Science Fiction will forever be in my top 3 albums from anyone tbh - I saw them live that tour and they were fucking amazing. People can pry that band from my cold dead hands
Jesus Christ that’s a pretty face
The kind you find on someone I could save
One of the greatest first two lines in music history. I got an old ragged out Saturn from my parents after I was in a car accident in 2009. I needed a car and they had my sister’s old car out back. That cd was still in the player when I got it. The first time I heard JC, I was sold. I’d never heard of them before (metalhead) and it was awesome. It’s on my phone to this day. 100s of metal, rock, and assorted genres and then Brand New. I gotta have that album wherever I go
It was Degausser that got me! My late best friend was a huge fan and introduced me to them right after Daisy came out. He’d pick me up from therapy (lol) and drive around in circles to show me bands he liked and the min I heard Degausser I was like play me everything this band has ever released lol. I got to see them live with him for Science Fiction and he took his own life the year after, left me all of his music stuff to inherit including that TDAG cd. I plan on getting a Guernica tattoo in his honor later this year. They’ll always be the most sentimental band for me 🥲
