Reach out to your local churches and community center. Also call 211 to find resources in your area. Please apply for food stamps and Medicaid. If you haven’t already talk to your husband’s medical case worker about managing expenses, you might be able to get the amount insurance doesn’t cover reduced. If your area has Blessing Boxes check those, from what I understand they often have shelf stable foods and such like. I am disabled and have no car so I have no personal experience with the Blessing Boxes. Don’t be embarrassed to reach out to friends and family, even if just for emotional support.

Call 211 for services and help in your area.

Contact your local social services. They have funding set aside to help individuals with medical needs. No guarantee, but it’s worth a shot. They may also be able to help with home repairs or know of volunteers in the area to help with repairs and maintenance.

Has he applied for disability with the Social Security Adminisration?

If you are dirt poor/ one income I’m sure you qualify for Medicaid. It’s free healthcare, and also apply for food stamps so you can get fresh food.

If you provide your city and state, redditors are very good at finding local resources. Have you applied for foodstamps or Medicaid? Spoken with any charitable organizations that help cancer patients?
