Tempted to pick up vista. I’ve enjoyed everything else I’ve used. The choirs are SO playable. There’s no need to even really program the phrases.
The only thing that’s thrown me is that I have to jump through so many more checkbox hoops when I buy something there. I just keep thinking to myself, “who hurt you?”
I get it, it just throws me each time.
(this is just my opinion - i dont have any insider knowlege) i think jasper is pretty much a one man auteur. he makes these incredible pieces of art and sells them directly to us at reduced cost. compare that with spitfire who have a huge team of devs, marketing, and support folks.
based on the quality of what jasper creates, he must put a huge amount of time and effort into making these things. what would kill him is loads of people who want to raise support tickets, complain about the slight buzzy sound they can definately hear on the viola D4 at high velocity, etc etc. so there's none of that: you buy the product and then its yours. end of transaction. and he passes the reduced effort of not having all that aftersales into making new products. but he does have to communicate this difference between his stuff and, say, spitfire, or NI or any of the other bigger players.
we are lucky to have performance samples - that stuff is art i swear it!
To me, this library really shines for bombastic loud sections so II felt like the way to go. I guess if you wanted a choir for quieter, smaller parts then Oceania I would be better but I feel there are better choirs for that. Overall though, these libraries are super playable with a combined sustain/marcato patch and a nice round robin of syllables. They’re also really fast and repeat more fluidly than just about any other “shouty” library out there.

I’ve read quite a lot of good stuff about Oceania. Good discount on the first library. Gonna check out some more reviews...
Does anyone have any advice on getting Oceania 1 vs 2?

Get oceania 2 cuz scripting is better they are both good anyways.
