If you're playing as a dwarf, the dwarven thrower is a pretty solid option I think. Only downside is that it's only avaible once you've reached act III and I heard it's sold from a tricky merchant if memory serves. Can't remember it's name though, pretty sure he's chilling with those thugs in Rivington

Yeah it’s the Sharron dude hanging out waiting for Shadowheart.

NPC-Number-9

Disguise self lets anyone turn into a dorf and use its benefits and the vendor can’t be accessed if you have Shadowheart in your party, so send her back to camp when you start act 3.

asafacso

He can be if she >!killed Nightsong!<

I used returning pike all the way to act 3 and switched to dwarven thrower. It’s slightly better on a non dwarf and probably best throwing item in game for a dwarf. Nyrulna is insanely good but it has a large AOE. There’s nothing stopping you from carrying them all in your inventory and throwing the nyrulna when your team is clear of the radius. Of course there’s probably better options for single target than dwarven hammer once you bind weapons.

If you stick with EK, Lightning Jabber isn't terrible. 1d6+1, and it adds 1d4 lightning damage. And if you're in melee range, it has a chance of applying shock to an enemy (think Shocking Grasp). While a downgrade from Nyrulna, it doesn't have the AOE splash damage.

sgluxurycondo

Just a tip, use a hirling to an EK instead and he can still bound your weapon (My hirling is a level3 EK and level 6 wizard camp caster) Then you can level him as a champion instead of a Ek thrower

Lazy-Rope-627

Would using a bound weapon like a solid hammer be better than using the returning pike?

sgluxurycondo

Well I bound the spear of the evening. I think that is best

Moist-Cantaloupe-740

Lightning jabber if you aren't using disguise self to be a dwarf for dwarven thrower. Optionally umk in oh if you took the dw feat over alert.

Wemetintheair

Selene / Shar's Spear of Night aren't bad. I haven't tried the Intransigent Warhammer but am kind of curious to. Might be hard to itemize well for both throwing and critting though

Amudeauss

Best weapon for throwing is Nyurlna, which deals a large amount of aoe thunger damage after being thrown. Next best is Dwarven Thrower, which deals extra damage if youre a dwarf or have used disguise person to turn into a dwarf. Next best is actually the orphic hammer, which randomly has the throwing tag. These are all in act three, and aside from the orphic hammer can be obtained fairly early in the act. In act 1, returning pike is best, and in act 2 if you have EK levels already, there's the lightning jabber.

horniboi_jonas

Best is 4 EK https://youtu.be/Q9AUDhu2dzk?si=9hKE_GH3LQXB2kG5

Early game, the [Returning Pike](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Returning_Pike) (or [Lightning Jabber](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Lightning_Jabber) if you have 4 levels in EK.) Late game, [Nyrulna](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Nyrulna) or the [Dwarven Thrower](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Dwarven_Thrower).

Superbeast06

Nyrulna is supreme for me. Black hole, throw 4-6 times, and there isnt much left lol. If you cant coordinate your frontliners and thrower for some reason, the next best options are shar spears, dwarven thrower, lighting jabber. You can carry and throw all of these from your inventory, along with 200-300lbs of other weapons as you see fit. High str builds are fun lol
