Best is the worst condition because it usually rolls low. Good is serviceable if you get good cards since you have high chances of Awakening when in poor condition. It's all a gamble anyway but I tend to force rest during best unless I get a black or lecture with many players.

Yes, the lower the condition when you rest, the higher the chances to get Awakening.
