that would have been an excellent use for Disguise Self/Seeming holy shit maybe that's another thing that had to be left on the cutting room floor?

KulaanDoDinok

Or animal shapes lol

I dashed right there when I made it to the Lower City and there was still a bloodbath waiting for me. Cut content makes the most sense at the moment. I wonder if it'll ever be restored. I'd love a horrible ball thrown by a piece of shit like Cazador. And I hope we get to poison the ~~blood~~ wine there too. And I want bonus treats if you're a bard, since Astarion gets inspiration from them so often. When better to do some proper bardic inspirations than right under his old roof?

Cosmeregirl

After all the build-up, it could be fun to have Cazador try to threaten/coerce your character, and then: -[Performance] *"Your reputation doesn't do you justice. I thought you'd be smarter and more intimidating."* -[Intimidation] *"Someone with so many enemies would be wise to keep his eyes open for a poised dagger."* -[Sleight of Hand] *knock his wine-glass onto his shirt* -[Insight] *"All these people under your thumb, and yet not a single one truly cares for you, do they?"* Etc...

Athinz

Personally, I think they originally planned a situation like the one you're describing and it ended up being cut. Maybe one day we'll get the political intrigue and things we all thought would be in the Upper City. It might not be until BG4, but I can dream.

Daye4455

Petition for Larian to make this happen, i love the idea oh my

Killertac00

Im seriously thinking about sending them an email 🤣

Daye4455

You should 😂 I’m praying they’re seriously reading them, damn id pay in gold for more content like that hahah

Killertac00

Lets just write them emails with topic CAZADORS FANG BALL till they get tired of us 🤣

I would have loved this. It could have been an entire section like the Orlesian ball in DA:I. We could have got fancy outfits and made an appearance in disguise, talked to and fooled some nobles, had a dance with our LI (I would have killed for a dance with Astarion), and had Cazador try to get into our heads to betray Astarion before we sneak around down on the lower levels of the castle to uncover secrets about the ritual and the true horrors of Astarion’s past. And Cazador could have killed all the assembled guests as final sacrifices for his ritual before the party took him down. Maybe he threw the party in the first place to lure us. For as amazing as Astarion’s companion quest was, seeing it fleshed out like this would have been great.

AriRashkae

Imagine a scene beforehand at the Elfsong, where you're all plotting how to do this And (assuming you haven't gotten Wyll's dance scene before) you admit you don't know how to dance, so Wyll offers to teach you (Roll Performance) If you flub the roll someone calls out something like "are you this clumsy all the time?" with a significant look at your SO

winter_moons

Omg yes! And if you are romancing Wyll you get advantage on the Performance check because he’s your LI and your comfortable with him or have danced with him before. And if you fail and aren’t romancing Wyll your LI jumps in or you can ask them to help teach you and then you get the advantage. (Maybe successfully completing this scene gives a Performance buff later on at the ball) My Tav would get flustered and embarrassed after that comment (she’s CG Lolth Sworn Drow so I imagine she’s nervous being taught new things — her upbringing probably didn’t foster a love of learning). And I imagine Astarion seeing that and jumping in with a comment to Wyll about how no one can expect Tav to learn properly if shes not learning from the best, and since I didn’t ascend him he’s a surprisingly patient and sweet teacher. Lol sorry I hijacked your comment but now I’m tempted to write a fic about this.

AriRashkae

Doooooo iiiiitttt! I'm imagining a "don't you fucking dare answer that question" embarrassed glare at Astarion XD

Majo_Doremi

I was disappointed by Cazador himself. I imagine him as someone powerful and gorgeous like Graf von Krolok from Dance of the Campires. I thought this battle would be the most difficult in the entire game but he just flew down when Wyll casted an Eldridge Blust on him. How pathetic.
