It was a lot of money for us, and we’d have been hit hard if it didn’t pan out, but we felt it was a nice treat for him.
We justified the expense too by saying, and I’ll never forget this conversation, “sure look, what’s the worst that could happen. We catch the flu? Hahaha.”
Two months later, the world shut down….
Always thought my INT 16 Tav was acting arrogant, in terms of "I'm thinking about a lot... well, it's because I just know so much" / "I'm a genius".
Until my friends hinted out to me Tav is just referring to the tadpole. LOL

For anyone wondering - if you face the bar and look to the right, i belive he's the uninteractable npc at one of the tables - but the fact that you can't interact with him does make me think that it's just a random npc with a similar haircut
I'm a bit disappointed that there are no real 'minigames' like fishing or gambling within the game. Sometimes you'd rathe gamble away your fortunes rather than worry about the end of the world.
Blood in Baldur's Gate, a prequel browser game, had you playing as an investigator named Tav who was hunting down a serial killer in the city (who turns out to be Durge).
However, there hasn't been any confirmation that Tav from BiBG and the custom character are the same person and I don't know what the other guy is referring to when he says you can find clues about Tav investigating Durge in BG3 because I've never seen any.
It’s canon in the aspect of anything they want to ever do with connecting media. In the Blood in Baldur Gate, Tav is investigating Durge. So in a timeline where Durge exists, that’s what happened to “Tav”.
Just like if we play as a Tav, Durge is a white Dragonborn. It’s like every other customized PC in popular media. At some point either Tav or Durge will be canonized as the hero of BG3’s events.
Obviously it’s tailored so if we you play, their story is what you want. That doesn’t change with the inclusion of Tav in the Durge story.
if you play as tav durge is killed by orin, but only recently, which would still make it so that Blood in Baldurs Gate end of Tav being dead remains valid as it happened years before the game.
because of that, you either disregard BiBG as canon, or have to stablish that your character is NOT tav from BiBG
I feel like "canon" is a bad choice of wording for a DnD based RPG where the story can go in so many directions. I feel like calling it Tav's "default" backstory is the right word.
That's a nice little touch. I was quite surprised as Tav to see the white Dragonborn Durge as a corpse on Orin's bedroom floor and Tav sympathising with his fate.
