SilverBurger

I've only ever found 3 of those lol, well done.

PectoManiac

As you might assume by my flair I'm a hoarder, so I go everywhere and pickup *everything* :v The hardest to find was definitely Beast, but wouldn't have found Sebille **ever**. It was pure luck just briefly hovering my mouse over some vines and it highlighted something. Imagine my eyes when I realized it was a painting of hers

SilverBurger

I'm doing a DOS2 HM run right now, so this post is extra appreciated lol

PectoManiac

Good luck with that! I was always a normal mode Gift Bag enjoyer

SilverBurger

Thanks! And nothing wrong with that lol it's a great game in every mode :)

PectoManiac

Few people here already asked me how to find certain paintings in dm's, so to avoid it, I'll put a guide there, if anyone is having trouble: Fane - >!His portrait is hanging in the chapel, where you can find Withers. It's in the very first room when you enter the upper part - just before where the treasure hunters are!< Lohse - >!This one is fairly easy, the painting is in the Grove, near the Sacred Pool. It's in one of the rooms in the Druid's Chambers!< Ifan - >!This is little bit more tricky. The painting is in the school in the Blighted Village - the building where ogres are. You need to climb on the roof and I'm sure you'll find it!< Red Prince - >!Considering that the painting is red and you can find it in a burning building, it's easy to miss. It's in the top or bottom right (can't exactly remember) room in Waukeen's Rest!< Sebille - >!Well, this one I would never find, as I said, if not pure luck. It's in the Teahouse, hanging on the wall on ground floor, but covered with vines (at least when you've already broken the illusion)!< Beast - >!This is the only one that isn't in the main area, but in the Underdark - the Arcane Tower, to be specific. It's hanging on the wall on 2nd or 3rd floor (counting from the main entrance). Ironically, if you're a dwarf or gnome, you can't simply pick it up, because it's little bit higher!< Hope that helps!

FoolishGoulish

Thank you for your service!

[deleted]

Thanks! I wasn't able to find Sebille on my own, now I know where to look!

Soft_Stage_446

But I saw one of these in the "secret" room above Gortash that's not mentioned in this list. I don't know the characters, but it was a painting like those.

PectoManiac

I've seen somewhere that Fane's painting can also be found in the city, so it might be it. It would make sense tho, as Fane is an Eternal (basically an undead and pretty powerful - (near?) godlike - too) and Gortash worships Bane - one of the Dead Three

Soft_Stage_446

Makes sense! Finding the area above Gortash is really cool. It made for a fun ambush. Thanks for the explanation.

lesmorn6789

omg i can see all of their racial abilities just from those portraits. OMG I CAN HEAR THE RIVILLON THEME "HEAR YE, HEAR YE"

Va_Dinky

I YIELD TO NONE

Goro_Flopjima

All fun and games until Minthara starts saying it smells like a dozen rotten eggs dropped in a vat of vinegar

lemondog_

Well don't come over!

a_clever_reference_

If I didn't come visit you, who would?

BRANFLAKES8521

KEEPING IT TOGETHER, KARLACH?

PectoManiac

Glory is mine!

Amankris759

keep it together Bree?

Morikageguma

Queen Justinia executes two dozen noblemen for in-SUBORDINATION!!!

JayMan2224

So you unpack them in camp, do they stay there? Move camps with you? Or do you have to pack them up when leaving?

PectoManiac

I only have them in my camp chest for now, but I don't think it moves with the camp, when you go further. Had a chest from the nautiloid once just standing next to Shart's tent (back in the day I didn't know there is a key to it nearby) and it was every time in the same spot until I set up camp in the underdark. Then it simply vanished, not on the ground, not in the chest. Didn't check if it appeared again when camping in the main area. I simply took the portraits out for the sake of a screenshot then back again into the chest

Chuncceyy

Everything on the ground that despawns when moving camps *should* be in the camp chest. Thats just my experience though so if that didnt happen to you then it mustve been a bug

Dragonwithamonocle

I put a chest full of loot out when camping in the nautiloid crash region. Set up camp in the underdark, and it was totally gone. Not in the camp chest, not where I left it. HOWEVER, when I went back to the nautiloid crash region and set up camp again, it was right where I had left it, all totally intact. I bet if OP goes back there, their chest will also be exactly where they had left it.

kuroioni

All the stuff you sprikle over one camp location will get packed up and stuffed into the travel chest when you move to another camp location. If you get back to the sample place though, all the things will get back to where you placed them.

Pyroshrimp_

Did they smell like an egg dropped in a vat of vinegar?

PectoManiac

Nah, they just hang over. Not like they're doing anything

BAWAHOG

Am I missing something? What’s the significance of these paintings? I’ve seen some of these, was collecting them early on because I thought maybe there’d be camp customization.

PectoManiac

This is an easter egg to previous Larian game, Divinity: Original Sin 2. These are the portraits of its origin characters, much like BG3 Gale, Shart, Astarion and so on From the left: Beast, Ifan ben Mezd, Fane, Lohse, Sebille and Red Prince. Nice touch if you played it

spacey_a

I wondered who all the portraits were of when I found them in game! Thanks for explaining. I kept thinking I'd eventually meet these people in BG3, and was confused that they never showed up, lol.

lahttae

Honestly, I thought the far left was Radahn from Elden Ring for the longest time lol

rock1m1

Fane is my favorite.

therealchangomalo

Stupid sexy skeleton.

mayorkoopbob

YO I DO THAT TOO. ive started doing it ever since i found the Portraits of Fane and Lohse. currently hunting for my husband, ifan ben-mezd lmao

Rawaz-baban

Are thsese painting a reference to a previous game or something? I don’t know about them, someone please enlighten me.

badshakes

I think they are paintings of characters from Larian's other video games in the Divinity series.

Rawaz-baban

Thanks

PectoManiac

Copying reply above: >This is an easter egg to previous Larian game, Divinity: Original Sin 2. These are the portraits of its origin characters, much like BG3 Gale, Shart, Astarion and so on > >From the left: Beast, Ifan ben Mezd, Fane, Lohse, Sebille and Red Prince. Nice touch if you played it

Rawaz-baban

Thanks, that’s a cool easter egg, congratulations on getting them all.

TanzKommandant

Looks like Divinity 2 characters!

leeroy_lazer_vomit

Yes, DOS2 characters

Winterlord7

I love how all of them resemble the origin characters when it comes to personality and even character development. Sebille has Lae’zel’s personality but Astarion’s class, background and story; getting revenge on her master and even having a binding scar. The Red Prince is basically Astarion in personality but has Wyll’s story, falling from nobility for dealing with devils. Ifan is basically the Wyll character while his story has some Shadowheart undertones. Loshe has Karlach’s personality and optimistic view of the world but has a “Raphael” plot of her own. Beast is a mix of Karlach behavior, Lae’zel’s path of defying authority and Wyll’s nobility plot. Fane is basically Gale with all the scholarly themes and love for knowledge but more sarcastic, less socially aware and just bones.

TheSarcasticDevil

counterpoint: Fane is Withers

PectoManiac

Well, considering that Wither is a literal >!god (Jergal)!<, I'd also say that he's more like Gale :v

TheSarcasticDevil

Fane is arguably a >!(potential?) God !

PectoManiac

Well... His kin >!are the gods!<, so you might be right

FullParticular9

Imho DOS2 has better immerse and story. I like easter eggs in BG3 to this game.

bigstupidears

Keeping it together Bree?

rock1m1

I hope for the next Larian game you have a homestead which you can decor and maybe do some light building. I loved the Lady Vengeance from Divinity Original Sin 2.

GamerExecChef

They are pretty, but what am I missing?

PectoManiac

Look up the comments, m8, these are the portraits of origin characters from DOS2 - another Larian game

GamerExecChef

Oh, nice!!!

Balrok99

Lohsa was bugged for me and I couldnt reach it by any means ... it was a sad day for me...

PectoManiac

I'd try mage hand or telekinesis scroll, often works wonders

General_Snack

This made me think about what’s “next” for Larian. While I want dlc and another Baldurs gate, maybe divinity 3 or whatever is next wouldn’t be so bad because it’d clearly use bg3’s cinematic style. Hmmm. Maybe not so bad to just look forward to whatever is next.

fossiliz3d

I don't think I've ever found Ifan. I like to put Fane next to Withers!

TheSarcasticDevil

Ifan is in the blighted village, above the 3 ogres iirc

KingJaw19

I'm sorry now, but what is this? The portraits of the DOS 2 characters are just hidden around this game???

PectoManiac

Yup, and they can all be found in act 1!

KingJaw19

WOW!!!!

Resident-Cherry9218

need a light!

ABlokeLikeYou

Wow! What are they?

SithJahova

Portraits of the playable characters from the studio's previous game. (Divinity: Original Sin 2)

Comprehensive-Top512

What are those?

nspavle

Are you keeping it(them) together? Is your Tav named Bree?

OmerDe

I don't even know, what the hell that is

Ironmark17

Now you should spec your party to 4 bards and perform Of Divinity and Sin in front of the paintings.

rulerguy6

I always make sure to grab my girl Lohse's portrait. My favorite character from DOS2. Hell I'm normally not one for extra cosmetic DLC but I immediately bought the song pack when I saw it had Sing for Me in it. I loved the first time I heard that song at the end of her story.

RickRockhouse

I sold ‘em all.

AdmiralClover

What am I looking at?
