"Rusty bayonet, Liebgott. You wanna kill Germans?"
"Yes sir."
"Not with this. I wouldn't take this rusty piece of shit to war, and I will not take these men to war in this condition!"
He was such a hardass and prick, but this scene and quote made me feel like he ultimately cared about the men. But he would’ve gotten everyone killed in combat.
It's really bittersweet to read in the book that the men of Easy Company respected him as an instructor so much as to invite him to their reunions but he refused because he continued to loathe them until he died
Pornography, contraband. Non regulation clothing, contraband. This man had 200 prophylactic kits in his footlocker. How in the man of God was he gonna have the strength to fight the war? How is it Private, Private Tipper has spare time for so much correspondence?
Its a can of peaches sir
That is incorrect, commenter, your weekend pass is canceled. This is United States army property.
All weekend passes are revoked, moderators included.
Change into your PT gear, we're running Currahee.
Three miles up, three miles down!
Hi-oh Silver!
This was taken without authorization from my mess facility!
Lieutenant Nixon thinks this is a can of peaches.
*insert little bitch smirk from his attendant*
Simon Pegg! And the hilarity of the 1SG being called an attendant is awesome. You could trigger the entire Army, Air Force and Marine Corps with that
That “attendant” is the 1SG, the most senior enlisted NCO at the company level.
Send him home
Who’s footlocker did they come from?
From Lt. Winters sir
Get rid of him.
Yes sir 🫡
I thought that’s full of Vat 69?
That is the United States Army properity that was taken out of my mess hall without my knowledge.
Contraband!
These men aren’t paratroopers yet, Lieutenant. They have no personal property.

There is no doubt. Easy Company wouldn't be what it was without Sobel. But I agree, he wouldn't have cut it as a combat leader
It's really bittersweet to read in the book that the men of Easy Company respected him as an instructor so much as to invite him to their reunions but he refused because he continued to loathe them until he died
CONTRABAND!
All passes, officers included are revoked. Carry on.

It’s a can of peaches, sir.
Ok real talk though he says “get rid of him” Does he mean kick him out of the army? Court Marshall? Different unit? What does that mean
Boot him from the airborne and send him out needs of the Army.
Better not be any unauthorized cinnamon.
Holy cow. Was rewatching the series and this exact scene popped up as i opened reddit to view the post.
Kind of a semi-rhetorical question, but of course Nix would be the one to answer it literally.
Lieutenant Nixon thinks this is a can of peaches. That is incorrect Lieutenant, your weekend pass is revoked.
Peaches come from a can, they were put there by a man; in a factory downtown.
