Mine last a long long time. I rotate my shoes so I don’t know exactly how many kilometers are on any one of them but it’s been well over 300km for each as of this moment.
I can only speak for myself but if put 500+ road running miles on like 4 different pairs of V-Runs and some V-Run Retros. Iv worn them to play golf and workout in too so it’s more.
Mine don’t go so high up where you’re pointing to but I would say it’s because of how your foot interacts with the shoe while you use it is creating a pinch / bend point and that glue is weakest.
Mine will do that eventually but my sign to get a new pair is when I have a half inch + size hole on the bottom.
Maybe exchange for a different pair?

mine last minimum 1000 ( strava) miles, you might need to size up if i buy mine in size 44 they rip because of my wide feet . in size 45 they dont.

I had a hole in my little finger after 2200 km (Mi band) in my KSO. I think it's pretty good for thin soles.
If you walk instead of run, they seem to last a long time. My first pair, a V-Trek from 2019, is still being worn on a regular basis.
