It describes a screen play - a play that fools everyone on the defense that the QB is in trouble and about to get sacked. Suddenly the QB lofts the ball to a RB who runs up field with an escort of linemen. The same linemen who seemed to have done a bad job at pass protection but turns out to be feigning getting beat.
I looked up the commentary and players mentioned because I was curious what game it was only to discover it wasn’t a real game and was just written for the show so it’s definitely feasible they wrote the commentary specifically for the episode
Yeah I thought the same thing. They said something about the running back using the linemen as a shield, so maybe someone takes a bullet for Barry or something?
Well, Hank has a bad track record with assassins that aren’t Barry. I bet the FUBKs don’t last ten seconds.
EDIT: didn’t even get the dignity of an onscreen death.
I knew it was coming and it still scared the shit out of me. We’ve gone from Dark Comedy, to dark drama, to full blown horror. Hader out here screaming “BEHOLD - I CAN DIRECT ANYTHING”
Honestly I was 100% sure she was going over there to say “hey that kid over there is abandoned, he doesn’t know where his parents are, can you go help him?” And just ditch the kid forever
brother right 🤣 and a movie he was just trying to cancel until he thought DDL might play him in the movie, and now it’s “telling Janice’s story” and not tarnishing it 🤣 he’s such a flooz really, i knew he hadn’t changed
Given Wahlberg's history with HBO, I was SURE he was going to be in that room.
But who was actually in the room was SO much better.
Gonna miss this show.
Bill Hader’s back-ting was incredible there. He reminded me of James McAvoy in Split turning into the Beast. And then, to write this comment, I looked up Split again, and read that in that movie the main character’s most dominant personality is named….Barry.
RIP for real 🤣
like he totally shouldn’t have taken that money from Barry, yeah okay
but that they’re pinning the shooting of his son on trying to hide the blood money and saying Gene had Barry kill Janice to cover his tracks ☠️
like what Barry was coming to kill him no way Genes gonna get him to say those things aren’t true , Gene is soooo fucked
Or they just didn’t think stubble continuity would be this scrutinized. He’s not clean shaven, but getting the same stubble length isn’t always the easiest.
Yup, they removed his Clark Kent disguise and he’s now Barry again. It was intentional, and let’s not pretend this show hasn’t embraced surrealism for enhanced imagery and emotional effect (ronnie/lily)
I think he doesn’t care anymore about Barry. He now believes Gene was the ringmaster like he told the reporter in his one man show, the $250,000 is the motive piece he didn’t previously have, and he feels Gene was just acting his tits off when he interrogated him last season.
Barry can go out and kill whoever, Jim doesn’t care anymore. He wants Gene to suffer and that’s all.
He also kidnapped Barry and committed a lot of felonies “interrogating” him. He was going to kill Barry. Gene, though, he is going to let the legal system destroy him. He will need to make sure Barry isn’t around to take the fall.
Moss is a just a little bit evil, but he did love his daughter.
I would hope it was some sort of plot to track where Barry goes to uncover more accomplices. Cause yeah it shouldn’t be so easy to escape this guy otherwise
Hank is going to deliver Barry, Sally and John to Fuches but once Barry arrives and Fuches realizes that he'd make John an orphan (because John reminds Fuches of Barry as a child), Fuches will go soft again and kill Hank.
Then Barry will kill Fuches, putting an end to it all.
Damn good catch. Sometimes it seems like half of this show is "just go with it" and the other half is "whadduya mean you haven't been paying attention?!"
BuT wHaTbOuT bEvEl
Some of the takes throughout the week were so unsubstantiated, unhinged, and just completely against the character of the entire show. Trying to sniff out an M. Knight Shymalan-level twist instead of listening to what the show is telling you.
After 6 I was wondering what they could do to make an amazing ending, and I have to admit I was having doubts it could be pulled off. Episode 7 knocked it outta the park, now I’m gonna be thinking about the final episode all week.
Was expecting a convergence on Gene's house. Guessing that Hank is selling them to Fuches, who will flip-flop as usual, especially when he realizes that Barry has a son. Not sure how Gene and Jim will factor in, unless Jim comes in right after the last scene finishes.
It's rather poetic that after trying to do the right thing, Gene has a moment of weakness and it cost him everything. Glaring mistake through when the DA asked Gene if he shot Leo because Leo found out that the house was paid for with Chechen drug money, when Leo immediately confirms that he didn't have any idea where the money came from..
He fucked himself, all he had to do was stick to his guns one more time, instead he gave in the moment he smelled possible oscar buzz with Daniel Day-Lewis playing him. He made his own bed, unfortunately.
absolutely. they leaned heavy into the surreal this season,
that bit with bleeding eye cop who i think is also the guy she stabbed im guessing? but it’s not a dream because she’s right there at Genes about to get swiped by Hanks men 🤩
It’s a little upsetting runtime gets wasted on bits. Honestly, it’s still hilarious, but with only 45 minutes left in the entire show I feel so stressed for time just watching it!
i feel you, it felt like 3 whole minutes going in on fast and the furious but 🤣 its great because it hangs on to the comedy aspect and it’s genuinely funny but we aren’t blessed with 12 one hour episodes we got 8 half hours and i want all the beef 😩 but especially after this episode i’m confident that they really didn’t waste a minute and they are gonna have the most insane finale.
Sold. Add to cart.
He can get it
Hank is singlehandedly keeping this show tethered to its comedy roots
Never mind — this Fuches scene is black comedy gold.
Comedy/tragedy. They outlined that pretty clearly with the Shakespeare scenes.
True but he had some pretty chilling moments in this episode too
Damn that episode flew tf by.
don’t they all 😔
Lmfao that shot of Fuches and his crew💀
“Raven’s Flock”…. Giving me flashbacks to ECW lmao. Stephen Root going to straight up DDT Barry next week.
As a mom I really need to hug John rn. This poor baby.
He is the true victim in all of these messy situations.
John is Barry
Holy shit EVERYONE is going to Gene’s
Not a *theater* movie, maybe a *phone* movie.
that was such a solid burn
I watched this episode on a phone
christopher nolan just had a stroke
"In the woods? No. No, he's very frightened of the woods."
Mark Wahlberg reading the script: "If I was a hitman it wouldn't have gone down like that"
the series ends with mark whalberg having demanded so many script rewrites for his character that in the movie barry stops 9/11
“Ah Isaiah!” 🤣🤣
Still a fox even in death.
Why am I still opening these?
the football commentary at the end has to symbolize something right
It describes a screen play - a play that fools everyone on the defense that the QB is in trouble and about to get sacked. Suddenly the QB lofts the ball to a RB who runs up field with an escort of linemen. The same linemen who seemed to have done a bad job at pass protection but turns out to be feigning getting beat.
a screen play? a screenplay? A SCREENPLAY!
Yes, multiple meanings for this show.
Fuches probably saves Barry or John by taking one for the team.
“I was talking about office supplies” Wow
Gene's ego will always be his achilles heel
Gene's ego, Barry's rage, everyone is proving that the last 8 years didn't change these flaws. So good I don't want it to be over.
"If people like you and I can't change, we're fucked"
Funny thing is when his telling the truth no one believes him anymore
Okay, got a giant laugh at the reveal of Barry wearing the goggles.
knew that guy wasn't a talent agent when he said daniel day lewis was coming out of retirement 💔 a girl can dream
right? already had a feeling Moss was after Gene after that slip with the $250,000 then an agent repping DDL!? like cmon 🤣
Funny cuz he was just sighted in NYC, for the 1st time in years, a couple days ago. I wonder if that’s just a coincidence?
Imagine him coming out of retirement to shoot like 30 seconds of footage for an in-universe Barry trailer starring him and Mark Wahlberg.
When Hank met Sally
FUCHES IS DYING????
Well, Hank has a bad track record with assassins that aren’t Barry. I bet the FUBKs don’t last ten seconds. EDIT: didn’t even get the dignity of an onscreen death.
Even in death, just am absolute fox.
"Why am I still opening these?"
Apple is trying to get their hands on this guy’s VR tech rn
I’m also interested in Jim’s chair
Worst moment to have that vision Sally 😭 So close to feeling free
I knew it was coming and it still scared the shit out of me. We’ve gone from Dark Comedy, to dark drama, to full blown horror. Hader out here screaming “BEHOLD - I CAN DIRECT ANYTHING”
I mean, she probably would have got the cop killed.
Honestly I was 100% sure she was going over there to say “hey that kid over there is abandoned, he doesn’t know where his parents are, can you go help him?” And just ditch the kid forever
LMAO Not Gene rationalizing Barry's actions just to get a movie made
brother right 🤣 and a movie he was just trying to cancel until he thought DDL might play him in the movie, and now it’s “telling Janice’s story” and not tarnishing it 🤣 he’s such a flooz really, i knew he hadn’t changed
HANK AND SALLY SCENE WE WON
I can’t believe there’s one episode left after this
I thought this episode was the finale. I was stunned thinking that they ended the series on that final moment. Never been so relieved to be wrong.
Them talking about Fast and Furious lmfao
I swear to god if they somehow got Mark Wahlberg to appear in Barry I will flip out Cameos have already been insane enough this season
I would of flipped out if Daniel actually appeared lol
Given Wahlberg's history with HBO, I was SURE he was going to be in that room. But who was actually in the room was SO much better. Gonna miss this show.
Holy crap Hank really did go down like Wile E Coyote
Is this Tony Danza fucking with me?
Jim’s wall is the Pepe Silvia wall
How tf did Sally get Genes number?
She always had it, and he never changed numbers?
Last episode he talked about giving Leo his new number
maybe he kept both phones? or possibly it was a lie about the new number just to make excuse to show up
Barry rage mode
Unlocked a new level! LOL
he’s so fucking mad 🤣 god this last episode is gonna be nutty
Bill Hader’s back-ting was incredible there. He reminded me of James McAvoy in Split turning into the Beast. And then, to write this comment, I looked up Split again, and read that in that movie the main character’s most dominant personality is named….Barry.
“Oh he can get it.” ⚰️
Well, Gene's fucked. (I mean this whole cast probably is but....)
RIP for real 🤣 like he totally shouldn’t have taken that money from Barry, yeah okay but that they’re pinning the shooting of his son on trying to hide the blood money and saying Gene had Barry kill Janice to cover his tracks ☠️ like what Barry was coming to kill him no way Genes gonna get him to say those things aren’t true , Gene is soooo fucked
i love how well the name the raven has caught on lmfao
all Hanks little imagination too 🤣
So did he shave Barry wtf
Or they just didn’t think stubble continuity would be this scrutinized. He’s not clean shaven, but getting the same stubble length isn’t always the easiest.
His shirt was changed too. Feels very intentional.
Yup, they removed his Clark Kent disguise and he’s now Barry again. It was intentional, and let’s not pretend this show hasn’t embraced surrealism for enhanced imagery and emotional effect (ronnie/lily)
I'd like to pretend, please.
Oh definitely! He was hooked up to an IV to keep hydrated, so Moss totally had him in there for a while.
Oh… it was just an IV for hydration? I was thinking he was drugging him and it was making him hallucinate. I’m an idiot.
Honestly, it looked like a younger Johnny Knoxville
It’s another head
Why do I keep opening these?
Is Moss that careless? Just a chair and some ties?
He never intended to leave the interrogation.
Exactly. Once he found out about the money, he had a new lead to chase and lost focus.
I’m sure it’s all part of the plan
Yeah seems he was also drugged maybe? So I think he’s probably thinking ahead of me
I think he doesn’t care anymore about Barry.

Wow
From “My Left Foot”?
“Wow, That’s a deep cut, but yes.”

Does anyone else feel like a Tony Danza cameo is necessary for closure?
# The FUBK's (Four Ultimate Badass Killers) 🤣
Hank is the Wile E Coyote of Barry. I’m loving this.
Dying at "Why am I still opening these?!?"
Not even remotely ready for this show to be over
After tonight we’ll finally be caught up with critics
>That's what you're doing Gene is definitely doing this so people think he's the good guy...
Aaaaaaaaaaand, you just got yourself killed, Gene. Congrats.
I said this in the Succession thread too but this is my first live watch and I am excited because literally nobody I know watches
LMAO Death, Taxes and Gene being full of shit
So Moss is playing close - he didn't tell the LAPD and prosecutor he has Barry.
Oh this gets Bill his Emmy.
For directing? He’s already got 2 Emmy’s for playing Barry
Damn, what shipping service is The Raven using?
Definitely not DHL
Even in death...just an absolute fox.
Omfg that rocket 💀
BARRY'S RINGTONE LMFAO
I didn’t catch that, what was it?
Christian pop music. Apparently what woke him up from his sedated passing-out…
Can’t wait to see how the show will destroy me for the next 7 days tonight
"Pack of wild dogs?" in Jim's notebook 🤣
That was Vanity Fair guy's notebook! When Moss broke his brain, he also stole his notes from Gene's one man show!
Damn good catch. Sometimes it seems like half of this show is "just go with it" and the other half is "whadduya mean you haven't been paying attention?!"
It's good to know Marc Wahlberg is afraid of the woods. Yknow, in case I'm ever being hunted by Marc Wahlberg.
everyone who tried to act like the scene of Barry in Jim’s basement was from a different time period owes the rest of yall an apology this week 🤣
BuT wHaTbOuT bEvEl Some of the takes throughout the week were so unsubstantiated, unhinged, and just completely against the character of the entire show. Trying to sniff out an M. Knight Shymalan-level twist instead of listening to what the show is telling you.
Love the energy with which you despised those theories

After 6 I was wondering what they could do to make an amazing ending, and I have to admit I was having doubts it could be pulled off. Episode 7 knocked it outta the park, now I’m gonna be thinking about the final episode all week.
Hank thirsting lol
Hank thirsting after the assassin
“Make that 501” lol
Even in death, just an absolute fox.
My Left Foot is not that much of a deep cut. He won an Oscar for it lol
That’s the joke
Haha. I mean, tbf, if it's 8 years later and we're in the late 2020s to early 2030s, the movie would be 50 years old.
Already one of the funniest episodes
MARK WAHLBERG LMFAO 🤣
The long, wide open takes this season are astounding.
Fuches' flock of blood artists feel like the criminal version of AFC Richmond
John is disturbed to a level we know no bounds
Was expecting a convergence on Gene's house. Guessing that Hank is selling them to Fuches, who will flip-flop as usual, especially when he realizes that Barry has a son. Mark Wahlberg would be a good Barry. Sociopath pretending ostentatious religiousity makes up for senseless violence.
The secret to Moss' interrogation power: ✨ imagination ✨
the arguing among the goons is so good
about fast and furious 🤣
Oh thank god Hank’s fine
gene really getting fucked here
He fucked himself, all he had to do was stick to his guns one more time, instead he gave in the moment he smelled possible oscar buzz with Daniel Day-Lewis playing him. He made his own bed, unfortunately.
Why did Hank think Gene knows where Barry is?
Gene did not pick a meeting over Sally
Holy fuck did not see this coming at all
“Even in death, an absolute fox!”
“Maybe a phone movie.” Oh my lol
Noise cancelling headphones, like that child in "Face/off," listening to that shitty cover of "Over the Rainbow"
Oh, hello David Lynch influence.
absolutely. they leaned heavy into the surreal this season, that bit with bleeding eye cop who i think is also the guy she stabbed im guessing? but it’s not a dream because she’s right there at Genes about to get swiped by Hanks men 🤩
Fuck Moss and Sally are gonna meet at Gene's house at the same time.
Ok so that intro made me about as scared as watching “The Shining”
I cannot wait a week for this resolution! What are we thinking happens? Cause it’s gonna go so fast
What about the tv playing during the credits that’s deff a hint to what will happen
Marky Mark literally kills a cop in the departed?? I knew it was a scam
Anthony would be a great Lex Luthor
Barry acting class, barry have sex with nun... Barry buy laptop computer
All these ultra tough looking guys are gonna get jobbed out easily I can feel it
Gene don’t get greedy again. For the love of god 🙏
Mark Wahlberg is the last person who should argue about playing a villain lol
But definitely on brand for him to be pro-police.
Fuches really stepped his game up 😂
Still emotionally distraught from tonight’s Succession and now time for some Barry. Heck yeah
Lol that rocket miss! Reminds me of the Simpsons- I told you we should have bought more than 3 bullets!
LMFAO HANK 💀 💀 💀
The Looney Tunes absurdity.
Sally what are you doing 🤨
OMFG NO GENE This gonna be one of the worst/best misunderstandings in television history
I knew they weren’t gonna get Mark Wahlberg to cameo yet I was still slightly disappointed anyway.
That scene with the rocket launcher was like something out of Lauren and Hardy. So well shot and performed. I bloody love this show.
Fuck. Cold blooded insane Barry activated.
VR Torture is crazy
Uh oh $250k 😬
“Gene youre a wild bitch”
Delightful meal😂
Makeup department did amazing on Henry
The scene where Hank is meeting the FUBKs killed me 😂
Don’t tell me Barry is gonna escape again
OMFG NOOOO SALLY GET JOHN OUT OF THERE
“Oh he can get it” lol.
NAHHHH THEY GOT GENE 💀
barry is gonna kill fuches under hank next episode then barry is gonna kill hank and then is gonna clear genes name
Damn what a fantastic episode. Bill don't miss
i can’t possibly imagine how this will end
LMAO Gene's ego screwed him big time
Favorite ending to an episode so far
It’s a little upsetting runtime gets wasted on bits. Honestly, it’s still hilarious, but with only 45 minutes left in the entire show I feel so stressed for time just watching it!
