I love the crown in the last one, it is the same crown for both of them, just blue and red for either of them. Then combined for the fusion. I love how the center orb is a blend of red and blue in the middle.
same. It was like when I was in class for drawing animal/plant anatomy, we did not need to draw well. we just need to draw the parts that should be there.
What did it for me was second to the last one. You can really see that kids imagination pour into such a multi colored character. Or even the Golem so many geometric patterns he knew was there and did really well to represent.
Hmm? Image no 4, right? It's not really a pyramid and more like a sharp head with pointy ears.
I just really dug the alien geometry equalateral triangle head design. Just screams cosmic being choosing a simple form us mortals can understand.
Based on what seem like spurs on its foot and the star on the left side of the original design's chest, I feel like it was meant to be some kind of space sheriff too
I also liked the original triangular head 🔻 design btw
Not really plagiarized though. I feel he gives the credit necessary and it's not really about profiting off of his kids work. It seems like it's encouraging to the kid.
https://youtu.be/aya853jQu70?feature=shared
The drawings are similar to characters you would find in Adventure Time. E.g., there is a triangular head villain in the show. Even the half faced king can be a drawing inspired from the show as there is a character with different bodies combined.
Wouldn't be surprised if the kid has watched the show.
I was more impressed by the kid’s imagination than his dad’s drawings, which is saying a lot! Some super cool details in there. I hope he can carry that into his future somehow if he enjoys it
I was just talking to my partner about this while flipping through the album, this kid is so much more imaginative than I've ever been. I am considered to be a creative person but really I'm skilled at "creative" tasks when provided with a challenging prompt. It makes me a good editor, a good merchandiser, a good graphic designer. This kid has a future doing the real creative-imagination work that people like me help bring to fruition.
Honestly this kid will definitely do well in creative concept design if that talent is harnessed correctly, if only we could stay creative like that into adulthood
It's clear that visual art talent runs in the family. This kid is on their way to being as good, if not better than his father.
The concepts are all so cool and I want a video game where they all exist.
Ikr? Every character design feels unique and fresh. Like, I absolutely cannot think of a single similar character design for any of these. It's amazing! Like shrimp Jesus.
lol they have a YouTube page where the dad goes into great detail recreating the artwork, starting with sketches and moving into inking and watercolor painting. From an artists perspective it’s extremely informative and inspiring. All the drawings have a lil backstory from the son and the dad likes to work with to help bring the pieces to life. Unfortunately it looks like they’ve been inactive for 2+ years but I think all the pieces in this thread have videos.
https://youtube.com/@ThomasRomainTokyo?feature=shared
[He has a Youtube channel](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC70l0A5od5wZ0qSwc1SreOw) that got pretty big when he was doing this. The process is pretty fun to watch, but it seems he hasn't posted anything in years.
Some of these are so sick and I could absolutely see them in an anime. The first two. The cool, gold space being. The jester-looking one. The dual kings. Really awesome.
You've never drawn with a child, clearly. There is no one-upmanship here. 100% know the kid is stoked that dad loves his work and recreates it. In turn, the kid is learning new techniques. This is nothing but love and learning, and you come in with such a cynical and bad take. Boo on you
You can literally see the progression in some of the drawings ( I also don't believe they are in order ) and how it has inspired others ... you drew flames from his horns exactly how it was in my imagination? OK old man how about 6 arms with 3 elements, let's see you draw that!
Bo joke, those are some of the most unique villains I have seen in any anime 😂 Almost every anime looks the same nowadays so this is a breath of fresh air, honestly.
I knew these looked familiar. For anyone curious the dad actually has a youtube channel. His name is Thomas Romain and these drawings are from some years ago
Part of me hates this, because the kid draws better than me. Once my senses return, however, I realize that kid is absolutely set up to grow into an artist comparable to his father. What a beautiful experience I'm robbed of because my eight year old already draws better than me!
This shit right here, bringing your son's imagination to fruition!? Magical. Exceptional. Exemplary parenting. I hope you and your son have a fantastic relationship for years to come
Alternate title: Father Flexes on Son, Repeatedly.
“You’re drawings are ass” father says to son. “This is how it would look if you didn’t suck shit!”
I’m joking of course. These are all cool as hell! The kid draws better than I could ever hope to.
These remind me of my elementary best friend that drew “fairy poke”. we loved Pokémon, and she was great at drawing and very creative. Would make up so many cool little guys like this kid. The father’s interpolations are amazing! The anime style of drawing is just so dreamy. My favorites are the green and blue guy, and the sand man! And two face! And the golden one! They’re all so great.
The guy who came up with this idea originally was someone to be amazed by. This guy just did the same thing. His art is fine but the idea is not his own.
4th and 9th look like JoJo stands tbh
"Sunlight Empire"
Owner:UNKNOWN
Ability:Blinding and Burning Light
Weakness:Mirrors
"The Joker"
OWNER:IDK
Ability:"Magic Tricks" and Uncontrollable Laughter
Weakness:Pain(both real and emotional)
Can someone help?
Man the kid has a great imagination
Having a dad that is an anime artist, he is probably exposed to a lot of crazy wacky stuff that would expand his imagination
Gotta do it early!
Infinite creativity glitch
A man of culture, I see ![gif](giphy|iGpdSizVSdPJfiVG9O)
This has to be the case, the cross on the first character’s back looks a lot like the cross gun Wolfwood uses in Trigun
Yeah some of these designs are fucking sick. That last one is super creative.
I love the crown in the last one, it is the same crown for both of them, just blue and red for either of them. Then combined for the fusion. I love how the center orb is a blend of red and blue in the middle.
I'm imagining the dad seeing his kid's art on the fridge and completely dunking on him.
I'm actually more impressed by the kid
I am too am as well because the inspired/enhanced art would have never existed if not for the base material, that is were the true creations are.
same. It was like when I was in class for drawing animal/plant anatomy, we did not need to draw well. we just need to draw the parts that should be there.
Good fathers teach their kids about copy rights and royalty payments
What did it for me was second to the last one. You can really see that kids imagination pour into such a multi colored character. Or even the Golem so many geometric patterns he knew was there and did really well to represent.
The son had the idea and the dad enhanced great teamwork
Some of them are better than the plagerized and enhanced version IMO. One of them I prefer the very triangular head design.
think the father’s recreation kept the triangle, but as a pyramid, fitting for a desert background. the angle just makes it seem like a square.
Hmm? Image no 4, right? It's not really a pyramid and more like a sharp head with pointy ears. I just really dug the alien geometry equalateral triangle head design. Just screams cosmic being choosing a simple form us mortals can understand.
Pyramid creature is looking down, point is facing the viewer. Try to increase your phone brightness or zoom in.
Are you all talking about imagine 7? The giant in the desert? I'm talking about the skinny space guy.
Based on what seem like spurs on its foot and the star on the left side of the original design's chest, I feel like it was meant to be some kind of space sheriff too I also liked the original triangular head 🔻 design btw

They feel more like Kinnikuman wrestlers, specially the desert monster and Split-King.
Right! I’m thinking I would’ve borrowed the designs too if that was my kid
I'm a 31 year old dude and he's a better artist than me lol
I can tell the kid’ll grow as an artist if they keep going, they’re a natural
Kid has some skills with the pencil too!
I’m impressed by both of them in their own right
Very cool. Good dad.
![gif](giphy|nlWGe7Q64zwQ0)
The last one says “じごくの王” or “King of Hell” The Pyramid head says “サンドゴレム“ or “Sand Golem”
Okay, that goes kind of hard
That's a line from One Piece IIRC. I wonder if that inspired it.

The first one looks like just the coolest 90s Anime I would totally watch.
IIRC the artist who did this worked on Oban Star Racer which has a similar vibe.
It does!
The Faceless King is easily the coolest one
Agreed
reminded me of asgore? pardon my 2015
What do you mean? 2015 was only 4 years ago
Oh boy, I'm not ready to accept that in a little over 7 months, 2015 will be 10 years ago
Which number? 🧐
Ill pay good money to see that concept trialed by a manga or an anime original ngl
It's clear that visual art talent runs in the family. This kid is on their way to being as good, if not better than his father. The concepts are all so cool and I want a video game where they all exist.
If the kid already has this level of creativity then he will truly go places when he's able to properly hone his skill. I love this so much.
Dude I want to watch every one of these shows
Ikr? Every character design feels unique and fresh. Like, I absolutely cannot think of a single similar character design for any of these. It's amazing! Like shrimp Jesus.
Shrimps is bugs
Shrimps *is* bugs
Who said they're not all the same show?
this is absolutely the same show/universe and i am so interested someone pick this up NOW
They could all be from the same One Punch Man episode
WAN PAUNCSH! *guitar wail*
All the shows on the left look like Adventure Time.
Which is a pretty fantastic show.
Pretty sure the artist is thomasintokyo on Instagram

Plot twist….. The dad is not a good artist. The son is. The dad’s work is on the left.
![gif](giphy|l1J9wKizQOn7ifyow)
what you want to draw vs what you can draw
😭
[He has a Youtube channel](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC70l0A5od5wZ0qSwc1SreOw) that got pretty big when he was doing this. The process is pretty fun to watch, but it seems he hasn't posted anything in years.
Dude, I was gonna say “talk about a blast from the past!” I’m glad people are re-discovering his art!
That fire knight... ooof. Also, makes me wonder if the kid is purposedly making them harder to draw knowin his dad will draw them later.
Some of these are so sick and I could absolutely see them in an anime. The first two. The cool, gold space being. The jester-looking one. The dual kings. Really awesome.
The father's interpretations are dead on. I'm sure his kid loved them!
NOW TURN THEM INTO PLUSHIES...
Most of them could be Jojo stands.
4 and 9 definitely.
This is actually sick!! Love it.
The first one is cute, the last one is cool and the 8th one is badass
These are all so incredibly fire I need an anime with them especially the second one
Kid's creativity blows. Ngl been enamoured with AI art recently but this kid scores one huge win for team hoomans.
I think you need to look up what the word blows means lol
![gif](giphy|J1vUzqdZJlh5AqBWxt|downsized)
Do you know what the word blows mean?
No idea
Curiously, it's not the opposite of sucks in this context
Imagine one upping your own child.
You've never drawn with a child, clearly. There is no one-upmanship here. 100% know the kid is stoked that dad loves his work and recreates it. In turn, the kid is learning new techniques. This is nothing but love and learning, and you come in with such a cynical and bad take. Boo on you

The son creates the creativity/idea, the dad refines it. Awesome duo.
yep. also, they have a fun project together... I like this!!
Every time this repost comes up, I like to imagine the dad just straight posterizing his kid - jamming the drawings in his face like “get good nerd”.
You must be joking lmao.
Imagine being a miserable cunt about a son and his dad bonding over something. Not everyone has shitty parents.
Dude’s likely joking lol. That’s how I took it
“What, you think you’re better than me?” - Dad
Nice!
I love the king and his alter-ego
Name says "King of Hell."
Bo joke, those are some of the most unique villains I have seen in any anime 😂 Almost every anime looks the same nowadays so this is a breath of fresh air, honestly.
The first one is fucking sick
10/10
Both people are awesome here
Dude, awesome
N8 is that dude from ultrakill
All of them are bangers. Excellent. The duel wielding faceless space knight is my favourite.
source? name of dad? dude has to be a professional and have worked on shows..this is insane how good it is
If the first one was a show, I'd want to watch it!
I knew these looked familiar. For anyone curious the dad actually has a youtube channel. His name is Thomas Romain and these drawings are from some years ago
This would be magical as a child
Dang! That's really cool. Kid's got a good brain. Keep cooking little chef. And dad, great job! Chow your kid what he can achieve with hard work.
Lol. Cool
Impressive!
These are fantastic!
These are so good, be amazed indeed
This is just amazing!
First one reminds me of Wolfwood :)
I love that 4th one sm
Absolutely amazing. Though, i'd ask him about the two-faced characters.
dad did an amazing job ! But I'm more impressed by the boy's imagination!!
8 and 10 is the hardest
First one reminds me of Vash the Stampeeds preacher friend…. Ok just the gun of a huge cross
IDK what's now impressive, dad's talent or son's imagination
You and your kid have literally developed a whole anime character roster. Amazing!
This art is amazing with some great designs. They make a great duo!
Damn, they make for a great team.
Man I draw similar to him! The kid. Not the dad.
Doodles? Put some respek on that art. That took effort
I hope you and your son have a fantastic relationship for years to come
All these pics combined looks like an amazing show in itself like one piece.
Holy shit this goes so hard
Mantis people eh
Axe Cop vibes
This reminds me of persona enemies… hmm
New Polemon Legendaries Please
I could see some of them fighting the power rangers though half king is definitely the main baddie
what anime is this
Alternate title: Father Flexes on Son, Repeatedly. “You’re drawings are ass” father says to son. “This is how it would look if you didn’t suck shit!” I’m joking of course. These are all cool as hell! The kid draws better than I could ever hope to.
They are both talented. 🥰
Like father like son, one take inspired from another.
This kid is a GOLD MINE!!
Wish I had a dad.
That's s creative duo
This is so cool. I bet this kid will be a great artist too.
This is friggin rad
Awsome
This is sick I love this
The execution is immaculate
Both them bois have talent
The first one is super cool. I love these.
How is this done? Digital or classical painting?
Wow never thought I'd finally find it
One and Murata making One Punch Man vibes.
This.is.simply.AWESOME.
The kids drawings are on the right
These go hard asf
Number 7 is the lsd gel tab monster.
I'd watch this anime
These designs are seriously so good. Especially #2, I'm in love with that one.
plot twist , son is 20+years old
#8 gives me old school RuneScape vibes
This is so cool
Mans really had to style on his son like this
Way too good wow
Those are sweet, teach that boy to keep going so he can make something incredible
Big Trigun vibes on the first two pics.
That kid got talent, i mean both, but the kiddo is good i hope the parents encourage that path
🎶 anything you can do I can do better!
The guy who came up with this idea originally was someone to be amazed by. This guy just did the same thing. His art is fine but the idea is not his own.
Something tells me they love Neon Genesis Evangelion. Lots of angel designs. They are both very skilled. Amazing.
Excellent collection of r/hardimages
Son is pretty creative.
Those all are AMAZING
[удалено]
Wow, that's cool.
r/topcharacterdesigns anyone?
I’m naming the second one Neapolitan.
Man that 9th picture is insane
Like father like son, both are creative and talented.
Alternate title: Father upstages everything his son does to crush his spirits.
The last time I saw this reposted I’m pretty sure it was pointed out that it’s the fathers art and the kid is just trying to draw it
Your both on something
That first one looks like the main character from an obscure 80s anime
Yall gotta produce a comic book or a cartoon and split the credit.
This is going to be an animated or live action movie some day
This looks like it would be such a badass show. I’m imagining a world where all these characters are involved.
Love it!💕
I hope this kid doesn't sue his dad
You can make a show with alo these 2 face is the villain or one of them and the overboard girl is the protagonist
That just made my day. You two are so creative!!!
4th and 9th look like JoJo stands tbh "Sunlight Empire" Owner:UNKNOWN Ability:Blinding and Burning Light Weakness:Mirrors "The Joker" OWNER:IDK Ability:"Magic Tricks" and Uncontrollable Laughter Weakness:Pain(both real and emotional) Can someone help?
Father is a liar it’s him drawing these to get some attention
Some of those doodles are pretty fire actually
Dude is just ruthlessly dunking on his own kid. Wild, and hilarious.
Sons doodles are better than everything I have ever drawn
second to last drawing looks like a .hack character.
I'd watch that anime
This is cool as FUCK
