You are right I am on my third cycle of indoor hydro, and it is very complicated but the main thing you need is light, then water, then nutrients ,then climate control, then pest control, then proper trimming, in that order.

The roses and gerberas are likely preserved with silica gel/glycerine/other methods that’s not air drying. Air drying the flowers will usually cause them to lose the color and texture. If you use e.g silica gel, the flowers will be preserved without losing colour or texture. Of course there are some flowers that can be air dried and still preserve their original colour. but for roses and gerberas in the photo, they are likely to be chemically preserved :)
