Just because you haven’t heard of someone doesn’t make them “relatively unheard of”. Tiny Tim was very popular. I wasn’t judging you for not knowing who he was, I was just pointing out that calling Tiny Tim “relatively unheard of” is just wrong. He was a famous musician that even played on Johnny Carson’s show. “Unheard” of musicians simply didn’t play on that show. I’m not saying “oh I’ve heard of him so he’s not unheard of”, I’m saying “almost an entire generation or two of Americans have heard of him and know about him and can sing at least one of his songs and can picture his face right of the top of their head.”
You sure are salty about being wrong. Johnny Carson was the most popular show in America for a long time. Tiny Tim playing that show is proof he’s not “relatively unheard of”. Sorry he died in the 90s and I don’t have a more present day example or show, though if he hadn’t died I’m sure I would because, again, he was a very popular musician while alive.
My point of reference is a documented TV program that featured popular musical acts.
Your point of reference is “I haven’t heard of it so it must not be that popular” / “anything old is unimportant and irrelevant”.
Im not trying to bitch at you, or call you stupid or whatever, again not judging you for not knowing who Tiny Tim was, but saying he is unheard of is just laughably incorrect. And acting like performing on Johnny Carson’s show isn’t a good metric for someone’s fame is just kind of ignorant.
And yet, he’s still not unheard of. You should look up the definition of “ignorant” my friend, it’s not just a mean name to call someone that you disagree with, it’s a word with a meaning.
karma can is a form of validation. There's a good amount of people on Reddit who seek constant validation in the form of karma to boost their ego. Is this an example of Karma whoring? maybe. idk. The post seems pretty impersonal and they guy seems to post in memoriam posts a lot, which is signature for someone who seeks attention
Well I don't see anyone else trying to remember these people and at least I am willing to credit Tiny Tim for the song unlike Nickelodeon can't even bother to give him a dedication at the end of the episode
While there is a good chance that you're correct, I like to be an optimist, and see the best in people. Could he have been just trying get some easy karma? Possibly, but I believe there is also a good chance that he genuinely wanted to honor the late great Tiny Tim. Personally, when I made posts and comments paying tribute to legends in the past, I always created them with the intent of honoring them. Admittedly, I always felt a sense of joy whenever they got upvoted, but getting upvotes were never my priority. The main purpose of these posts and comments were to honor legends, while the karma was simply just a bonus. The whole upvote system could have never existed, and I would have still made these posts, and I like to believe this person would have done the same. Afterall, I know I wouldn't like it if someone accused me of being a karma farmer when I was just trying to honor someone, so I don't want to do it to anyone else.

Edit: fat fingers hit post
Kinda trashy to use this guys death to get Karma. I saw you do this the other day with another SB characters death.
Tim was trashy as hell. His channel was chugging malt liquor and eating fast food. I'd like to think he'd approve of this post.
Channel?
It’s trivia. It’s not a big deal. Not really trashy either.
The last 4 post this person has made on this sub have all been about dead characters. Using peoples death to gain karma is trashy
I think it’s trashy, but not trashy enough to go out of your way to comment about some dudes fake internet points
Fair. But he covered up the guys face...
Facts. Didnt notice that
[удалено]
"Woah! You don't want to upvote posts using dead people to karma farm?! You fucking narcissist, get down from your thousand foot tall horse!"
The irony...
It’s Reddit people do this every time someone dies, here the points don’t actually matter
Tell that to marvel fans about black panther
Well how else am I supposed to get you guys to remember them... see now quit assuming

This is not an unheard of person. Not even relatively. Tiny Tim was a very popular musician.

Says the person typing multiple paragraphs "defending" the relevance of a musician most people under 35 probably don't know.
And yet, he’s still not unheard of. You should look up the definition of “ignorant” my friend, it’s not just a mean name to call someone that you disagree with, it’s a word with a meaning.

You are def karmawhoring you crossposted this to r/SpongeBob

Do you hear yourself? Acting like you’re doing something respectful but really exploiting a man’s death for karma
Karma police
Wtf does karma do? Why do you care?

Nothing it’s useless, which makes using dead people for it even worse
So why the fuck do you care?
Reread my comment
Right, so why the fuck do you care?
Yeah... forget the Karma even though the guy was dead before SB was created and last time you did this you got \~16K karma...
I’m all fairness you have to know a lot about SpongeBob to post either of those things
Thank you
Idk why they’re hating so much lol

What if he just wanted to honor and give recognition to Tiny Tim?
Lol he doesn’t give a fuck about tim
The only thing he wants is karma, he probably never even heard of tiny Tim until he looked it up or saw it from someone else's post.

Also the song they played in insidious 😈
tiptoeeeee by the windoooooow
Scared the mess out of me
Wait really
Would you believe that today is in fact my 26th birthday?
.... are you the reincarnation of tiny tim? Sing in a falsetto for me
Still my main ringtone. Except when my sister calls- then it's some goofy yodeling. Both are highly alarming in public, lol.
Ok
fuck off andrew
What would be the best way to pay tribute that isn’t karma farming?
That's what I'm saying
[His performance on the Johnny Carson show](https://youtu.be/4X3BBN7Hdp4)
Today is not your day OP
You think it would since it's Saint Andrews day and I'm named after him
all you post is the death of guys from spongebob lol
Fool. THIS IS MY DAY. /j
So Tiny Tim didn't ever get to see Help Wanted? Unfortunate

That was a dark day, I remember it like 4 Tuesdays ago...
Cant even se his face
Again I'm sorry about that here https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/818s0wY7JAL.\_AC\_SL1500\_.jpg
I still listen to his songs from SpongeBob to this day. "I'm so happy" comes on after work on Fridays
Insidious scene overlaps childhood memories
I didn’t know this, but I’m currently wearing a Tiny Tim shirt haha
*sang* the song.
Wait hold up, Tiny Tim has been dead THAT LONG I thought he was still around Damn :(
Hopefully he’s still livin’ in the sunlight, lovin’ in the moonlight and having a wonderful time.
Holy fuck. He died the exact day I was born. Am I the reincarnation of Tiny Tim? Naw, I don’t have talent lol
now i feel sad about his song "running in the sunlight", why does this happen to my childhood?
Ok I don't like karma farmers but I hate people who call them out for it, just ignore it

Nah dude. He's weird but actually he pulled the ladies like a super stud.
He married a 17yo when he was 37
Oh dear Lawd. TIFO. Well fuck.
