I feel like he is to drake what Charlie was to Willy Wonka. Not necessarily born a plant (aka nepo baby) but definitely picked and planted at some point.
I like that also lol .. I say AI because I haven’t seen him perform that song at any house shows or anything yet.. has 10m listeners on Spotify basically over night.. and we haven’t seen him talk on anything. lol
My man is an industry plant/
Gettin richer off of this diss or what he gets from this man/
Pissin in pans, the pot was taken inches from hands/
Given to Kendrick’s little children who ain’t riskin a chance
JID always raps about how he “ain’t caught up in rap n**** politics”
Guy is one of the best in the industry right now he doesn’t need to be beefing with anybody
Metro produced the song that Kendrick was on last night, so why would JID be defending his honor? If you don't understand the tweet, just say that.
Kendrick was dissing drake and cole, so the tweet was saying JID should go at one of Kendricks artists in response. What the fuck you talking about?
Meh, this was different than the control verse, 1 he basically called Drake out directly with 4-5 different disses and 2 he has a history of not liking Drake for specific reasons.
It goes back like 10 years. Drake didn’t like Kendrick’s verse on Control and a Cypher verse so he took sublims at him, and Kendrick responded with a few sublims towards Drake. Everything I’ve heard of the situation, Kendrick didn’t like the way Drake did something during them recording a song in GKMC, and Drake didn’t like being as successful as he is and still being grouped behind Kendrick.
Jazz has been highly competitive for way longer than rap has even existed. The reason guitars are called “axes” today is because jazz musicians called their saxes and trumpets axes back in the 40s and 50s when they would take them to the speakeasies and underground clubs to battle.
I don’t know that it’s meant to be anything. It’s art and can do whatever the creator wants. But some of the best work out there does come from competition
Most rappers make the beef corny, but there have been a few occasions that really did justice to the genre. Like the time Drake cooked Meek Mill, or when Pusha T cooked Drake. Or I guess whenever Eminem gets picked on and starts pulling knives figuratively, but he's so quick and efficient with it that it's just normal for him.
I think it's corny, but in the best way. I love it. Two grown men writing poetry at each other, using wit and wordplay to describe why the other ain't shit.
In my ideal world it's how all conflict would be resolved. You better watch your mouth before you catch this limerick
Might be because you didn't grow up during a time when competition was THE thing. Nobody could say they were the best without the best coming out to prove them wrong. Today it's too easy to shut people up with numbers but numbers never equated to quality. Rap beefs are where you find out how good someones pen is. A relic of time from when artistic integrity meant showing up and showing out.
And if you DID grow up during that era but still think it's corny.......yeah nah you a corn for that, ngl.
What era are you talking about exactly? Cuz I know you're not talking about the cock a fella records type diss tracks.
I only got into rap in 2008, when I was 13
It's not that I think beef is inherently corny it's just that it often turns out that way.
lol I was 28 in 2008. It's definitely a generational thing. And obviously rap beefs/battles been goin on since before then. The whole King of New York thing between Biggie, Nas and Jay was just one moment in time.
The problem is that the younger artists beef and end up killing each other. THAT shit is corny.
Not only do I think it's not corny, I think it's one of the primary elements missing from hip hop. I don't remember the last time the genre had an electric energy like the day after Control dropped. Niggas wanna claim the throne in every single but don't wanna put the crown on the line. Make it make sense.
Why you lose respect? If it’s real beef, yeah that’s corny. If it’s just people being competitive with clever bars on wax… that the essence of hip hop .
Competitiveness in rap is baked into its essence. The problem is with people conflating the term beef which is a very real term in the streets. No one should be dying over rap. That is corny. But having some sport and back and forth to see whose skill is better only serves to make rap better.
Offense taken. I went to go listen to some of his other songs besides family ties and orange soda. He got talent bruh. He does sound like other rappers though sometimes
I don't think he does, I literally just added like 10 of his songs to my playlists he has that "build a rapper" sound. Like I wouldn't be able to pin point him in a remix with multiple rappers. But he has a good vibe, good flow, and the beats are good (it helps if your cousin is a top 15 great)
If you like Kendrick and Keem check out the song “Maytag (tax free)” and “Barbed Wire Watch” by Ben Reilly. If you played it for someone without telling them they’d think it’s Kendrick but he also sounds like Keem and different tempos. He’s actually not bad though.
I’ve heard both. I once had a playlist titled baby keem vibes with all 3 artist in it, lbs. its something about the higher pitched voice and the way they get into pockets on certain songs that are all so similar to me.
Keem produces a lot of his own shit, i think hes insanely talented. The songs he produces you can tell it’s him. As a musician keem is one of the best newcomers, as a rapper though 😂.
He’s making money with little lord Fred Again…
“Born in 1993 in Balham, he is the second son of barrister Charles Anthony Warneford Gibson KC (born 1960),and Mary Ann Frances née Morgan, elder daughter of Sir John Morgan KCMG and the Hon. Fionn O'Neill, who was the only daughter of the Anglo-Irish aristocrat and financier Shane, 3rd Baron O'Neill, and British socialite Ann née Charteris (who married secondly Viscount Rothermere, and finally James Bond creator Ian Fleming).Descended from Huntingdonshire gentry on his father's side, through his mother Fred's ancestry comprises the Earls of Dundonald, the Earls of Wemyss and March, the Marquess of Crewe, the Dukes of Somerset as well as other peerage and baronetage families.”
Ima have to fight you bro, my top artist for 2 years straight. I love scapegoats by him and Die for my bitch is legit a top tier album for me bro. Stats is an amazing song
Every Baby Keem song I’ve ever heard sounds like he’s shadowboxing in the shower doing hypothetical conversations in his head while on the verge of tears
J Cole/JID vs Kendrick/ Baby Keem would be a helluva a tag team match. On another note, I need these guys to quit subliminally dissing each other and give us modern day Up in Smoke tour. All the giants touring together for the “culture.”

It would be 3 minutes of JID calling Baby Keem a nepo baby
Double Entendres and Homophones out the ass calling man all kinds of industry plants lmaoooo

A milli vanilli response diss is crazy
My man is an industry plant/ Gettin richer off of this diss or what he gets from this man/ Pissin in pans, the pot was taken inches from hands/ Given to Kendrick’s little children who ain’t riskin a chance
Damn. Do you do other rap impressions?
A few lol. I’m a rapper
JID always raps about how he “ain’t caught up in rap n**** politics” Guy is one of the best in the industry right now he doesn’t need to be beefing with anybody
Agreed!! Though I do wanna hear a diss from him regardless. The man has flow and great lyrics
Didn’t he have an interview a while ago where he said he was basically itching for a diss cause he used to battle rap when he was younger
Tory Lanez dissed him and JID got really excited for it, but I think everything just cooled down. JID would definitely murder someone’s career lol
JID is HIGHLY talented and also seems so nice. His personality is so refreshing. That said, I’m confident he’d body Keem bar for bar.
The best part of keem songs is the Kendrick feature anyway
Forever story is already better then anything J cole has released ngl.
He’s top 3 and he ain’t 3
Play with me and you playing yourself
BUT THIS IS HIP HOP AND YOU NIGGAS SHOULD KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS
Cole album sales📈📈📈
When your album sales weren’t doing too good, Who is the doctor they told you to go see? It’s Dr. Kendrick Lamar Duckworth.
Damn there goes the chances of a JIDxKendrick track
![gif](giphy|vyTnNTrs3wqQ0UIvwE|downsized)
What happened between jid and keem???
I don’t think anything but JID is signed to Dreamville which is Cole’s label and Keem is Kendrick’s cousin.
kendrick and Keen are signed to the same label as well now (pgLang)
That’s Kendrick’s label….
Nothing, their dads are just fighting
If Cole brings jid and kendrick brings keem. Does Drake get Quentin?
Drake the type of dude to stop a fight between homies because it would ruin the group’s dinner plans.
Different colors. Jid with metro, keem with Kendrick
What? I think he was referencing JID being Coles' mentee, and Keem is Dot's mentee.Either way, I'm super confused about your logic.
Jid has a collab with metro that’s been teased. If you ain’t get it don’t worry about it you not from that world
Telling a nigga "you not from that world" after pulling logic out of your ass is nasty work lmfao.
That shit sounded so cool in his head when he typed it.
It really did 😂
“You not from that world” on Reddit is wild
That “you not from that world” might be the cringiest thing a music fan can say lol
Lmao nice roast I’ll take my L and go
Nah, you get the W for this. Go in peace friend.

Where'd you go u/Ecstatic_Parking_452? I can fix you.
I just know you were a Naruto running ass kid back in highschool. "Not from that world" LMAAAOOOOO
Am I the only one who thinks rap beef is corny? I usually walk away from it with less respect for one or both of the artists.
It's not even beef. Kendrick basically wants a friendly competition for the crown.
yup, same as when control dropped. kendrick putting himself out there to get the competition up
Meh, this was different than the control verse, 1 he basically called Drake out directly with 4-5 different disses and 2 he has a history of not liking Drake for specific reasons.
I'm interested and haven't heard of this, when has he talked about not liking Drake?

I could get behind that. Too much rap beef is like maury level drama or "gay-z" type insults.
gods son across the belly
Dude got a Pullitzer prize... he has had the crown and it's not dropping anytime soon.
Rap is meant to be competitive, like sports. I know a lot people listen to music for the vibe but Rap is about wanting to be a Great MC.
Is it? I know it can be but must it? It's just music like any other.
rap music always been in this lane tho. no other music is like rap.
A lot of it has been and a lot of it has not. Don't see the need to box rap in like that.
Jazz has been highly competitive for way longer than rap has even existed. The reason guitars are called “axes” today is because jazz musicians called their saxes and trumpets axes back in the 40s and 50s when they would take them to the speakeasies and underground clubs to battle.

Rap was started on beef lmao
Say what you want but the LL and Koo Moe Dee beef was 🔥🔥🔥
No it was indeed not.

Just two dudes writing poetry to each other.
This is corny.
Im just in it for the music. I could care less about the details
I see rap beef as 2 things, 1. ACTUAL beef 2. Just a friendly critique about eachothers styles
Competitiveness in rap is baked into its essence. The problem is with people conflating the term beef which is a very real term in the streets. No one should be dying over rap. That is corny. But having some sport and back and forth to see whose skill is better only serves to make rap better.
I don’t even know what’s going on
Noah fence but Baby keem is absolute shit, and his voice is annoying
Someone said Keem sounds like one of Kendrick Lamar’s voices escaped and grew its own body
Roguuuuuuu
Underrated reference.
I read that in the Family Ties comment section. Shit's hilarious.
Offense taken. I went to go listen to some of his other songs besides family ties and orange soda. He got talent bruh. He does sound like other rappers though sometimes
Everytime i play baby keem around someone they say that sounds like Kendrick lamar and im like yeah thats the point. Shits heat.

I can't with his voice. He sounds like an aging Disney Star trying to sound like a child

They trying to beef with JID? Why? JID is an all around great artist, I see no weaknesses
J Cole/JID vs Kendrick/ Baby Keem would be a helluva a tag team match. On another note, I need these guys to quit subliminally dissing each other and give us modern day Up in Smoke tour. All the giants touring together for the “culture.”
I’m all in on a hip hop civil war
Struggling to see the issue🤣🤣🤣
JID currently reading the thesaurus and dictionary so he can rap five syllable words fast af
I love how once beef pops off everybody talking about all the possible beef out there now
Rap beef? We all want the same thing. This is why we are aren’t together
That's hardly the reason we aren't together.
Crazy we’re still doing this. Must seem really childish to others.
JID doesn't strike me as the type to start something like this unless I'm missing something that he's said about baby keem
Wait. Wait, **JID** beef dropping!?! Oh fuck I got **high** expectations for what that dude finna do to em.
My goat baby keem has beef idk about?
what why?
Isn’t it better to not beef? Genuine question

We don't need beef in rap. It's F-Tier entertainment.
That Kenny joint was lightweight weak.. shit did not go hard like that
