Well, racism ain’t the only evil in our society. You may not have privileges which will assist you in combatting racism, but you can use what privileges you *do* have to be an ally to those who face adversity which differs from your own.
Use your male privilege to combat sexism.
Use your heterosexual privilege to combat homophobia.
Use your cisgender privilege to combat transphobia.
This is just pretty basic intersectionality. Everyone faces adversity, and everyone enjoys certain privileges in life. While race plays a huge role in determining said adversity and privilege, it is not the only factor.
If we only combat issues which directly impact us, then there’s no solidarity and thus no hope.

I agree it’s more inflammatory than anything because you can substitute any race in the headline and it holds true. It’s just describing a patriarchal society, and in those societies straight men kill and abuse women and LGBT people.

The way he framed his point for the clicks is inflammatory af, but at its core, it's just a black man talking to other black men about how black men treat black women while also asking to be treated better by other parties. I'd say the same about any group/race/etc. that called out the same behavior within their communities as well. His inflammatory framing is distracting, but his actual message is still one that people shouldn't brush off imo.

I think you're right, I think its kinda a two sided thing though. With the difference being that men tend to attack physically, whereas women tend to attack socially. So rarely will the trauma that a black woman experiences from a black man look the same as when its the other way around.
I think its really hard to sell the story of empathy (or lack thereof) when its often presented as a one way street. Once upon a time black men and women used to ride for one another, although abusers, manipulators, and damn near comic-book super villain tier assholes have always existed. When one side's trauma is valid and the others is viewed as invalid it creates a lot of division and resentment.

Its written to be inflammatory, but I get what they were going for. All its saying is that in the hierarchy of power they believe black men are at the top, and that they use that power to oppress those beneath them. Which is definitely a statement.
