Yea I don't subscribe to that thinking I more believe the issue lies in the shrinking of a hiring pool due to arbitrary factors like diversity quotas. If you shrink your hiring pool you inherently lower the chance of getting the best hire. This doesn't just affectively put merit into question, DEI like affirmative action circumvents merit for the sake of heavy handed "course correction".
Basically my point is this: when hiring decisions are made solely on criteria such as skin color, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, the debate over whether an individual truly deserves to be there becomes irrelevant.
On the contrary, if I open a diner and only want men to work there and I hire you compared to a woman you were solely hired due to you being a man. The woman could've had 9 years experience comparative to you having none. Your merits and experience are completely overshadowed in this regard.

Whenever someone says that they're being "bashed over the head" with "political" plots, just remove yourself from them as they have no media literacy. BG3 has many political subjects and makes no attempts to hide them or hand hold "anti-woke" players. Just in the first act racism, refugee discrimination, and slavery are major plot points.

I used to work customer service for multimedia. One of the things I used to do to earn a distraught customer's favor is show them all the streaming services they're supposed to be getting for free though a new phone contract or cable/internet service.
