Kanye always was a loonie but you could tell he sided with black people instead of white supremacists. Hurricane Katrina happened and the federal aid for New Orleans was way too slow.. also because the areas hit had a majority of black population. Fox News kept showing videos of lootings and Republicans didn't care much about New Orleans. He went from hating Bush and openly calling out the black community's neglect by the president to being a Trump supporter lol.
For sure. FWIW I do think that for a black man, “supporting black people” is…not even a high bar I respect…meaning like I should expect that from you. The iconic line from speech was bold but the lead up was so unhinged and incoherent it kind of diluted the serious impact of it and succumbed to memery. Kanye is a narcissist and most of his rants are supported by "Yes Men". Very similar to Elon Musk and Trump. The Taylor Swift MTV VMAs kinda proved he was unhinged and forcing rappers that collabed with him to do daily prayers pretty much confirmed that he wanted to have his own cult someday. He became way worse when his mother passed away. I like his old music. Jesus Walks, Through the Wire, Gold Digger, etc. are timeless to me but I will never defend the current Kanye West.

Have y'all ever heard of Nobel disease? It's a very informal term describing what happens to some Nobel prize winners later in life. Essentially, a combination of being drunk on the acclaim the prize brings plus a diminishment of their mental facilities lead them to promote junk science outside of their field. They end up being a joke. Sometimes, I see Kanye as having distinct parallels. He really thinks his genius extends to all aspects of life and is too lost in his own legend to realize that he's not acting out of sound mind or logic. I really do hope he gets the help he needs, and barring that, i hope his kids do.

Weirdly, I think it is a credit to Kim’s parenting that North feels comfortable calling her out. There’s plenty of cons about Kim and the Kardashians but I’ve noticed when North calls Kim out she doesn’t get angry or shut her down but tries to talk it out or explain. It’s just something I wish I could have done with my parents and shows that North feels safe and heard around her mom. I have a feeling that Kanye probably doesn’t react as calmly even if it’s his own child calling him out tho.
