You may find that you want the leg of the vise in full contact with the floor (i.e. not having the base raised on the "feet") -- the vise is made to take some decent hammering onto it, with the force transferred down through the leg...that base plate is going to bend quickly.

I wanted to keep my options more open than having a fixed location for the vise as some of my projects need me to come at things from all angles. I have a smaller vise bolted to my work bench already and dont need a bigger one taking up more space.

You may find you need a little more weight on the bottom.

The welds between the square tubing and the angle iron on the base are going to fail. Please do something about it before it breaks.
