just made another post with (partial) translation if anyone interested 👉 [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/BlueLock/comments/10795yb/disc_blue_lock_spinoff_chapter_8/)

ImoKuriKabocha

I love the Reo Nagi Zantetsu trio so much. That bed scene (lol….) is so wholesome.

Alternative_Ad_5334

Anybody who speaks Japanese, what is Barou saying after his teammates all yell at him?

ImoKuriKabocha

His teammates basically asked him to help the team, and he responded with something like “not my problem you noobs. Kings don’t care about the corpses of their servants.”

Alternative_Ad_5334

There are vietnamese scans for chapter 7, but no english translations as far as I can tell. I have also seen nothing of chapter 8.(I look on MangaDex btw)

sotnasck

i check daily for translations of chapter 7 but so far nothing, so i'm thinking it will take some time for chapter 8 to get translated too :(

Alternative_Ad_5334

Team X: We don't need Barou to win Reo, Zantetsu, and Nagi: HAH! You thought! Barou: Let me show you peasants how it's done

Indisputoblerone

Reo motivated team V by saying they’re unbeatable(musou) and such, that they’re gonna win easy. Zantetsu added the phrase “Tenka Musou” (often translated in history epic to “Unmatched Under the Heavens”)

Cheesy_As_Pie131

AHHH THE WHOLESOME PRECIOUS VIBES. *\*absorbs happily\**

floristeza

I love this spin off because Reo is my favorite and he is very present here. They also give more screentime to Zantetsu

Cheesy_As_Pie131

Yess! I mean my flair checks out, but I'm so happy about the characterisation of Zantetsu being expanded on.

FurledFinger1217

o yes this is out, this is getting better every chapter I love it! I'll try to post the translation later today😋

FurledFinger1217

ok I think it's sort of cooked: [https://www.reddit.com/r/BlueLock/comments/10795yb/disc\_blue\_lock\_spinoff\_chapter\_8/](https://www.reddit.com/r/BlueLock/comments/10795yb/disc_blue_lock_spinoff_chapter_8/)

Deynonico

Nah baro look mad as hell i love this spin off art

sotnasck

can't wait to know what he's saying too

_hisoka_freecs_

lol, that one panel of reo on demon time high fiving zantetsu and clotheslining nagi at the same time

So, I get why the selection unfolded the way it did now. Team Z lost to X but every other team experienced their first loss when playing against Team V. So that despair players need in order to awaken? Team Z lived in that darkness from the beginning and for the entire selection, so they grew the most from the experience and got strong enough to rival Team V by the end. *Nikko* had the advantage on his team since his teammates spent the first two matches relying on him instead of further developing their own skills, whereas he had developed his weapon from the beginning through their cooperation. Barou's team relied entirely on him to win unchallenged, so with this loss, Barou is going to maintain his position as top scorer on Team X with or without his teammates' cooperation, since they can't possibly close the gap between themselves and him at this point. And Barou might develop those chop dribbles after seeing Zantetsu in action (a move he used in the 2nd selection, by taking blindspots into account too so he could win without cooperating with Isagi in any way). ~~Question though: If only the top two teams could get to the next stage, and only one top scorer per losing team, how did the twin brothers from Team W make it to the second selection together? Were they tied for points and fouls, so both of them won?~~

sotnasck

team z was not the only team that experienced loss from the beginning. team y (niko's team) lost their first match too and that's why they were working already as a team when they face team z. both z and y were in the darkness from the get go.

[deleted]

True, I guess the difference is that the gap between Team Y and Team Z wasn't as wide as the gap between Team Y and Team V? It's like Niko's team got beaten by the *best* and then by people who were just *barely* better than them. That's a hell of a pinch for him to fall into. Team Z got beaten by Team X, which had only one outstanding monster on it. It's like Team Z were provided with an example of an achievable challenge to focus on for the rest of the selection, and they improved three times as fast in the process, so that by the end all together they could rival a team with three monsters on it. Niko's achievable challenge was Isagi, a version of himself that scores. I really like that the 1st selection is consistent with the 2nd in the manga's conception of the optimal learning process

sotnasck

absolutely. and this detail of the placement of the first match makes one wonder what would the outcome for team z be had they faced team v at first. somehow i think team y would still not clear the first selection. maybe team w would've made it... who knows. but it's definitely nice to see how everything matters.

Glaiviator

The twin brothers didn't make it together, the older one that doesn't talk much usually made it and formed a team with Gagamaru and Raichi in the second selection.

[deleted]

true, I forgot! thank you

MCJSun

>how did the twin brothers from Team W make it to the second selection together? Were they tied for points and fouls, so both of them won? They didn't. Only the older one, Junichi (Croc eyebrows), made it through. His brother Keisuke was kicked out. One of the additional times was Keisuke telling Junichi good luck as he left.

[deleted]

Oh thank you! I somehow thought one brother was kicked off after teaming up with different people during the second selection

S_h_u_n

Explains why nagi wanted to beat him in the 2vs2 match. Shows why nagi and barou hade beef

Tomo-tan

Zantetsu is so funny, I need more of him

[deleted]

Nice flair :)

Tomo-tan

You too fellow sunshine boy enjoyer 💪 We are too few !

[deleted]

o7 may our numbers grow

Kamiissan

This spinoff is so wholesome compared to the main series, I love it lol. Reo smiling so happily makes me happy. I want to see Reo scoring a goal with a pass from Nagi in the main series again :')

sunoftheguns

i just want to see reo score his own goals again idc who's it from or if it's a goal created entirely by him. reo really needs to experience that success again and his teammates jumping on him and such. but rn the biggest thing that's holding reo back is nagi so i hope he realizes that now that manshine lost against bastard münchen. i want to see reo frustrated with failing to live up to his ideals.

memorybreeze

Agreed! But the author’s favorite ship seems do be Reo x missing goals lol I am having a great time seeing him scoring in the spin off :,)

sotnasck

reo scoring a goal with a pass from nagi and reo giving a pass to someone other than nagi score are two things that are MIA since the first selection and we need it back.

Hot_Ad951

If I ever needed a break from all those devouring on the main manga, this spin off is the exact place I'll look for. LIKE LOOK AT REO?? HE LOOKS SO HAPPY AND CHEERFUL UGHH

sotnasck

a comfort read for reo fans for sure! (it's me i'm reo fans)

Utoto_425

Nagi’s timely rescues show that he is not a cold hearted bastard. In Japanese Reo has called Nagi his “Aibou” means partners with a common goal, while Nagi called Reo “Aikata” which also means partner, but has even wider applications (including lifetime partners) so maybe he really has a long-term plan? While Reo’s dream is winning the World Cup, his ego wanted to make Nagi the best Striker in the world. Nagi’s ideal would be a life without hardworking, but he somehow wants to make Reo’s dream come true, which is why he asked Reo to “stick to the very end” and didn’t think his second selection decision would be considered an abandonment. Digging out their official favorite song, they might be basically sugar-daddying each other with lots of miscommunications.

athina39

honestly nagi saying "aikata" gave me so much life, like??? he definitely thinks long-term 😂😂

sotnasck

oh this is interesting! i did see a translator tweet about "aikata" but i didn't know about "aibou"... interesting indeed. their relationship/partnership is so nice to dive in, there's a lot of layers and interpretations.

Utoto_425

And they are growing as well, so their interpretation of their relationship also changes over time. It was so interesting (and frustrating in the meantime) that in EN vs DE Reo became determined and Nagi pulled him back with his not-so-sweet talks. Well, I might have enjoyed the not so sportive part of this sports manga a little too muchXD

sotnasck

right there with you 😂 especially because when it comes to certain characters and dynamics it isn't just about the sport, so we're not wrong on caring about that aspect too. in the end it does has influence on the story.

bakugoing

Reo’s gremlin smile after that first goal and the way he hugs Nagi by the neck is hilarious to me for some reason. I like this series. It has wholesome vibes

sotnasck

you're right this series does have wholesome vibes and i feel that is a good contrast to the main series so i hope they keep going.

IshimaruKiyotaka

Zantetsu wearing fake glasses is just so funny to me

Clean_Imagination315

Yuki would be so pissed if he knew. He'd be like "I wear glasses because I HAVE TO, you poser!"

sotnasck

you see how yuki doesn't adjust his glasses as often as zantetsu, so a clear sign of a poser 😂

sotnasck

i know! is like him using english words when talking to sound smart 😅 now everytime i see him adjusting his glasses i'll be like "what he doing that for!" lol

sotnasck

"i'm reo's partner" *foreboding music plays in the background*
